True, although in nations that poor, I'd think they have more important things to worry about and buy than some video game. Video games are nice things to play, but in the end they're just entertainment and a luxury; one can live without them.
... Said the folks who play... Thats akin to people with money saying money is unimportant. We live in a media age - people want to have fun. A lack of aff

There is no game in existence that has not been pirated. Don't think that free patches work. Pirates get the updates, reverse engineer them, and issue them for sale on the black market. That, or the person buying the pirated software simply will tolerate not getting free update
A game I am greatly looking forward to is Left4Dead from Valve. Their Steam system is offering pre-orders, which I would avail myself of *if* I received a hard copy of the game. As it is, I would not, therefore I refuse to order . I will never entrust some digital domain
Looks & sounds good. Can`t wait for the release, as well as for more info on the next expansions. Btw, what are the specs for the system that demo was running on? I`d be curious for comparison to my own (including the resolution display setting of the monitor)?
I realize that a service such as a company-provided server system costs money and cannot therefore be provided in perpetuity, especially for non-blockbuster titles (contrast the Sierra listings to Blizzard`s StarCraft for example), but then again this ought to be the most obvious of arguments for not tying core functionality to external apparati.
Just a follow-up to my comments pertaining to the tying of products to the companies that publish them. Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 2142 have to be THE worst/best examples of the sort of thing I am diametrically opposed to. Before I can even change my Options (!!!!!!!!!) I MUST successfully register with one of EA`s online servers. Ev
So you have RA work like the superweapons. You activate RA and pick a target system. The allied fleet arrives, gets it's marching orders, and ONCE it gets to the target system starts attacking. If you can not find a way to use that to your advantage, you kind of suck. It allows you, if you use it properly, to field a larger fleet than your opponent. Yes you have to pay for them and no, you won't get direct control,
A software publisher should not have the right to fundamentally alter the nature of a transaction that is essentially a sale, simply by drafting a document in the box and suddenly calling it a "license". As far as I'm concerned, I am buying the right to use the product however I damn well please, provided it is not in a manner which violates copyright. Furthermore, I have this right in perpetuity or until I transfer that right to another individual. The selle
Most federal circuits in the United States have ruled the opposite; that boxed software is a good that is sold and not a license.
I believe that there are good arguments for not reselling software but let me take it one step more. If you like a game, don't you want to reward the company so that they make more games? Reselling a game you liked instead of forcing a new sale distorts the metrics that go into the question of "Do we make more things like X or do we have to close up shop?" [/q
Okay - sounds like it is wise to just be grateful the BIOS procedure worked (!). Thanks folks.
Pursuant to BIOS settings, I`ve heard from other quarters that Intel defaults are actually quite superb, so I probably do not need to do any fiddling.
Now that I think about it, Sins itself validates my idea - we *already* deal with autonomous factions interfering with our play: pirates. I count it as a major difference that pirates require no cost from the player to do what they do and even if the player chooses to pay a cost, it's clear up-front that it's a gamble (given the relative weakness of pirates beyond anything but the first wave, it's usually a losing bet).
Hah! Back from the terrifically intimidating world of BIOS updates. Its done, my My Computer/Properties facility now declares that I have a 9650. The impulsive slave that I am to gaming, I immediately ran the FEAR and World In Conflict tests again. FEAR came up still identical to previous tests (booooo...) but W
They need a utility or at least the capacity to record BIOS settings in a simple text file, so one could simply print them... this is going to take forever and a day... Thanks again for the info. It looks like I`ll use the Windows flash util, since this sounds like the simplest method (important for me!) and the most commonly used (couldn`t be that bad). Supposedly I just run the .exe and reboot. Regarding a Q9650 specifically, you folks think it reasonable for me to indeed ex
UPDATE: I ran cpuz in normal windows, which filled in the rest of the information. More important data (as far as I know...) follows: Multiplier x6 (isn`t this supposed to be x9 for the Q9650?) Bus Speed 333.3 MHz Rated FSB 1333.3 MHz <span style="font-size
Results from cpuz 1.47, although bear in mind I had "an error occurred while opening the driver": Processor <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"
Thanks guys. I have a motherboard update for the DP35DP, now I just have to painstakingly record all the current BIOS settings for when the flashing resets them. Ugggh. Never done this before. Ugggh. I hope that works. Pursuant to all this, I noticed in DXDiag the cpu is not using several instruction sets (SSE4 among others) which the 9650 should have available. Also, I must say I will be really pissed if this cpu turns out to indeed be onlky a Pentium III Xeon; I don`t think
Howdy Anybody, I just installed a new Q9650 cpu to replace my Q6600. I have seen tests that indicate a general 20% boost over the Q6600, and so I am dismayed when my fps tests for FEAR and World In Conflict come back with identical results to the Q6600.<

A deployment cell is built from the capitalship factory which can move through both subspace and phase space. Once you have the deployment cell at the desired location, you can deploy the Star Base which is then immobile. While being moved / deployed the Star Base is very v

Hmmm. In time the expansions would depreciate in value too... this isn`t anything new. And its certainly not a detrimental testimonial concerning Ironclad and Stardock... you`re going to judge the quality of a product by whether or not it is cheaper than an older discounted product? Granted, sure, it may seem odd at some point in the future to see expansions selling for more than the original, but so what - at some point in the future , newer products invariably sell for more than the
Actually, Now that I think about it, Sins itself validates my idea - we *already* deal with autonomous factions interfering with our play: pirates . The game works pretty well despite them... the universe still turns.
I didn`t need reassurance that my idea would work (the entirety of Majesty provided that many moons ago), but go look at Demigod to see validation of my A.I. controlled concept... the armies in the game are completely automatic. And it works ... I hope the developers are seriously pondering this. Anyhoo, blah...
