I just had a relaxing game vs the AI and was thinking. Would it not be nice to have the ability to name the fleets we create. I for one would easily recognise my two or three fleets by name. Just like I find it easier to identify with my capital ships by looking at the name. For me this seems to help me remember exactly what has happened and what state a fleet is in. An ally also can easily identify with you saying your sending the 7th fleet in rather than "a fleet" with "x XX

I see, well that sounds like nothing compared to the advent shield ship.
With the severun overseer I cannot seem to see what its protecting. Will it harden the armour of the clostest ship? or the most needy ship? With the advent its much easier... u can see the radius of the shield and i assume its protecting all friendlies in the shield sphere area. Does the overseer protect all vasari ships in a radius? BTW: if we had formations it would be a damn site easier to protect these support ships!
here is a blast from the past... i still don't think NExus has ernough ship types to put into sins
this is why a lot of sci-fi relies for its story on recovered Alien Tech for FTL drives. Homeworld anyone? As for fighters, The theory with missile replacing fighters for most people is: Whether they have their own brains or are being controlled from the firing ship, they will be jammed and too dumb still to reach their target without being shot down. Therefore a fighter bomber would be needed and fighters needed to intercept them. It is hard to tell what will and
how much did u pay? Doe the money really matter? I'd just report him to ebay.
tactical fleet simulator = starshatter nexus2 tech demo looked spectacular... dunno if nexus would lend itself enough to sins, nexus detail was all in its ship customisation.... not its ship types
ARMA/OFP, SWAT4 was fun coop COD4 is fun for a bash... I'd also love to get into Red ORchestra.... buts its online play only
PR-0927 no problem. Most noobs though, would have no clue what a pixel was... its too old school for them. As for model, again they would more likely be called sprites for 2D. Why don't I just agree that your correct and stop using the old terminology. Next time you fill up your car, please don't say you want some Gas though...... ;)
PR-0927 really.... its a figure of speech sheez pixels and 2D graphics are from old games and describe how complicated a model was. Polys describe how complex a 3D model is.... newer but stull graphics related. pixels are from older school games, remember 2d games like rampage? remember a game called loadrunner with a stick figure made up of 10 or so pixels..... there are parallels in the more modern 3d poly models..... most people who remember the 2d stuff interchan
Everything in the game is accelerated, even the combat. So it would not be out of place to see orbiting stations or moons. Without phase lanes as long as scanners could detect in-coming fleets you could intercept them. You would still be able to get fleets into positions that would allow either interception or at least reaching the planet before it is destroyed. The differences would be that if an enemy sends a fleet deep into your territory you will have a counter for it b
Its just come to my attention that Z axis movement has been removed. Is it possible to put back in the following for us advanced fellows... orbiting planets moons Z-axis sligshotting solar system orbits no phase lanes- open movement. newtonian ship movement
I agree, The Kodiak looks pretty silly, a dodgem car in space it is. However spacecraft are still largely imaginary atm. We don't really know what they will look like if we ever get lightspeed travel. The rust on the TEC you will have to show me though. Rust in space is an interesting concept. The Advent and Vasari do look much better. Hoever I do like the look of all the TEC caps excepting the marza. The Kol is probably the most awesome looking cap in the game, I love the det
sorry but I am old school when it comes to those terms whether a model is mad from pixels in 2d or polygons in 3d matters not to me.
The marza though looks like they cut the pixels down due to the fact it was bigger and used more pixels than the other ships. I have just played the mod 7 deadly sins and can confirm it makes the marza look awesome
that sux. I would at least have hoped for an option! One of the reasons I got this over other product was the 3D movement. I do agree that it would currently be an exploit in multiplayer, however thats only because the game needs to revert to a true 3D form for planet defence\structures, mines etc and AI movement + the planet planes. I can only hope that they will do things properly in the expansion or another patch. They have removed a lot of good features for the sake of t

The TEC imho are supposed to look old and worn. Thats ok, but they don't look old and worn. Just pixelated and blocky. I think with a little hull rounding and a little more attention to detail this race could look really really good. ATM I avoid playing TEC just because their ships look so crude in computer graphics terms.... not design. The marza dreadnaught comes to mind as the worst.... looking like its made of two pixels. No offense intended, just wondering whether
i cannot understand this. if everybody has cable whats the point? HAve they not got everything they want themselves. I guess at least there is some lanning action going on. I lan regularly with some mates in Sydney just at each others houses. We play sins, armed assault, lockon, sturmovik, homeworld2, dow, company of heroes, silent hunter and anything else that we feel like playing. We are all late 20s, early 30s. So I guess mature gamers - or average aged gamers if u believe t
[link="http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8372603330420559198&q=&hl=en"]WWW Link[/link] why could spore have not stayed like this, The video above is a video of spore as it stodd being demoed in 2005... It looks so much better than the current game. MAybe its just me and the poor picture quality of the video. But the game looks so much more scientific and realistic. But now it just looks like a big cartoon
the homeworld 1/2 campaigns were simply awesome..... its the only RTS campaign I have seen pulled off
oh and combat mission - which i have not had a chance to play much yet
lockon mtw2/rtw silent hunter il2 sturmovik sose dow armed assault\operation flashpoint (the only real FPS) homeworld2 nexus - the juptier incident take command 2nd manassass klingon academy bf2 - project reality - the base game is BS theatre of war - when they ever fix the damned thing company of heroes close combat cc1 - 5 - GJS - one of the best games ever made mechwarrior mercenaries heavy gear 2
You can avoid defenses this way. I plan to use this in future games draw enemy fleets off. I think 3D will be a great feature if they can flesh it out a bit in future expansions. I simply like the fact that you can actually do this. It is a neat way to make your enemy come to you. It certainly give boasting rights over other games like SOTS. And gives a real space like flavour to the game. I wonder if you can D click your defences and factories.
I think all that is needed is a race that is really really different. Like a submerged water race or even a race that can survive in space... organic ships... I agree about the fleshing out of the storyline but do believe this will happen with the campaign mode that will come in the addon. I am looking forward to meeting the race that everybody seems to have been waiting for. the one that pushed the vasari to the brink of extinction.... I do like the idea of
