Personally, I play with my mouse sensitivity turned way up, so aiming is a motion in just fingers and even a 360 turn is just one motion with my wrist. TF2s Pyro would be almost impossible otherwise. and BTW... If you use an optical mouse, ditch the mousepad. If you don't use an optical mouse, get one.

Actually, my rig ends up costing me less than buying a console for my gaming needs... I'll asplain. I actually use my computer for work. I do some 3D modeling via Lightwave 3d and some drafting and engineering computations for a wood truss plant in the area. So a Dual-core 3 GHz machine with 2 gig of RAM actually has a use for me... something I'd have anyways. It only costs me about $200 every 4-5 years or so to upgrade my GPU and keep a solid gaming system. For a conso

You could probably decrease the beginning load time significantly by dropping your texture setting down one. I had the same problem and going from "Highest" to "High" dropped load times from almost a full minute to just about 5 seconds... :P
There's no discrepancy. $39.95 is the non-CE retail price, $49.95 is the CE.
So then why are Digital Download Only purchasers being charged the CE price at 49.95 but wont get the collectors edition goodies? I don't really mean to be a jerk, I personally feel the $49.95 I paid are worth every cent, collectors edition or not, but there is an unexplained price difference there... I just want some clarification up so I can "asplain" it to my buddies. Is it really

Did anyone else notice that in Brad's Blog $39.95 is the retail price, but Digital Download only is listed at $49.95 in the Stardock Store? Just wanted to point out the $ discrepancy... someone may want to fix that.

As far as I have heard, I don't think any retailers have committed to carrying the CE, so a direct buy Retail Box from Stardock is the best way to be sure you get it. It'll be shipped to you on the 4th, but you can DL it and play before it ever gets to you, so no waiting past the 4th to play. Yarlen or Blair, feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken.

A solutions to the micro is of course to make it more of an abstract concept and not implicitly control or even show the battle progress... An Example: "Assault Cruiser" has limited direct fire weaponry and 1 ability: Launch Boarding Party(or some such drivel) Can only target Capitol ships and frigates with shields down, effects do not stack. Adds the debuff "boarded" to a ship which every 3 seconds would apply one of the following effects to the boarded ship:<b

I think I heard mention of a particle system editor, as well, for making custom weapon effects, etc.

Micaletti, 0-Gravity does not nullify inertia. Your breath, no matter how bad it may be, will never move a 20-pound missile without some sort of mechanical advantage, be it pistons or leverage.

well, as far as we know, they may well be done and have sent the final release candidate to MS for Games fer Winders Certifications... of course they can't announce Gold until said certification is given, but iirc it takes about 2 weeks for MS to do their thing. Given the announcement Frogboy made yesterday, I find it highly likely that they have in fact submitted the final release candidate.

He's referring to the battleship Capitol for the Vasari that is more or less analogous to the Kol (i.e. direct fire ship-to-ship combat)

Saw that one ages ago... but fun nonetheless. Too much free time at werk, I guess...

In a vacuum it is. No air to create shockwaves or transfer heat. Nonetheless, in space some sort of protrusion from the missile body would still probably be desirable for maneuvering thrusters, to generate additional leverage from minimal thrust. Less thrust needed = less fuel carried = more room for explosive warheads = better bang for your buck. Thats the bottom line.

But, Kryo already confirmed that attack ranges are spherical, not cylindrical. You can fly "over" the cannon range just as easily as "around" (technically the same thing in a 3-d environment)

Resurrecting a 6-month dead thread! Wow... that must have taken a huge effort. You, Kastronida, have taken Necromancy to a whole new level. :P
