Although I never had sync bugs well done there and thanks for posting! It is just amazing to see so much passion and dedication these days so here is another Karma for you sir :p
-=XX=-Nephilim
I think you completely misunderstood my concerns and points :) If anything I am ALL for MP and its community and I am not "sniping" at it at all - instead, I am "sniping" at certain missing features in the game that would help this same MP community to rise and shine... For me, and many many others, Vanilla Sins MP is taking waaaaaay too long even on a small map while Entrenchment not only that it won't address this issue but it will make it even worse prolonging the game even
I think you should take a second look at it, Nephilim. For me, it's one of the few games where strategy is defined by more than 'Bigger army!' and tactics is more than 'Attack move!'.
Been following it since Pre-Alpha! So I can say I know it quite well :) Comparing it to Ground Control series it is defo let down in every possible sense and department appart from gfx and b
Update with part 2... Read OP at the top :)
the expansion can make the longer for both sp and mp. what he meant was that in mp it is a bigger problem, because while you technically can save and continue some other time, that just never happens with random people. in sp you play for as long as you want, pause, continue another day. in mp, you basically have to finish it in one sitting and since most people get tired after 2 - 3 hours give or take, that's just the maximum length the game can
As I said in my own feedback... I love Entrenchment... It plays really well even in beta stage... It doesn't crash, at least on my system... etc... All positive and great :) HOWEVER! Be prepared to book week off work if you fancy to play bigger SP map while MP, in my humble opinion, received final blow since already way too long games will become so much longer and therefor impossible to complete within reas
Not me - sorry :( Game was virtually born dead due to number of fundamental design errors across the board and mini-expansion won't fix it... I had extremely high hopes for it (being long time Ground Control fan) but for me it turned out to be way too shallow and way below my game play standards. As if this wasn't enough already, cherry on the top is a fact that WiC has got one of the worse online communities I have ever seen... In short, total disaster r
You are frekn kiddin me! IC ownz the world! eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Thanks guys :p
rather than the suggestion of starts with a colony already up and labs ... why not give more resources. like an option at the start, low- medium - high resources.
Arguably easiest solution and the best suggestion so far :) Well done man and signed! Would love to see this feature... EDIT: I don't easily give karma but you deserve one with your reply :p Take it!</p
In other words, there is no need to change the core game for everyone (I happen to like it the way it is), rather there simply needs to be a variety of pre-set maps as you described, which will have the effect of faster games for those who want it.
Exactly... I like the core game too - no, in fact, I love it! But can I please finish single bloody round, be that SP or MP, in some sane time bracket!?!? Y
Post for the win :) Potential of Sins MP is arguably bigger than one of SC yet it really amazes me how devs / publishers can't see this. Or they can but are not doing anything about it... Or who knows what... I would actually go that far and say that Sins MP is one of the biggest wasted opportunities in gaming history... Just my 2 cents...
I think to speed things up in Entrenchment MP without changing to much. Is to start with the starting position colonized. With 2 civ, 2 mil labs, and your cap factory already in place. There are maps that do things like this and it goes pretty well.
That will surely help but do you really think it will be enough for scenario like: - 20+ planets (not to say more) - equally experienced players on both sides
Speed wise - my game is set on fastest :) I might experiment with unfair and aggressor! By the way - while we are here... Has anyone else noticed HUGE increase in time required to finish the round (be that in SP or MP) or is it just me!?!? Could be just me since I played only one game so far... But employing logic to it somehow I can't believe I am an isolated case here...
Also, do you know what type of AI you were facing? It might have been a Defender.
Have no clue... I always set up AI random + hard... As I said in original post I really don't know how to treat or categorise this... Perhaps as a problem? Or just concern? Or something else? Sins is very unique case in every sense and this is coming from a gamer who is enjoying computer games since
I will stick with X-Fire :) Of course, any option is good one, but personally I always was in favour of X Fire over any other mean. It kinda evolves all the time while other options (like IRC) is stuck in the same spot for last decade or so... Just my 2 cents...
Great idea! I will join the group :)
I know it is not going to happen but have to write it down nevertheless... More MP game modes next to existing Conquest one... Modes that would focus on solid MP experience and rounds that would finish within cca 45 minutes game play brackets... :p
:) Sorry, but your post just made me stay away from Windoz even more... I am also sorry if my post offended you since that was not my intention. I was Win user for 10 solid years until 2 years ago when another company "persuaded" me that stuff can work as well as look much better than what I was used to... I will have no problem switching back to Win when Microsoft manage to "persuade" me that it is the right thing to do... And somehow, I
We (Ironclad) have already begun work on the second micro-expansion. We are also hard at work on a new project.
New project :D eeeeeeeeeeeee Tell - Tell Ok I know - Sins 2! great can't wait! eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :p
System specs: MacBook Pro, XP via bootcamp, 4Gb ram, 8600GT 256Mb gfx card PART 2 So, in last few days I went and tested Entrenchment bit more... After saving my 2.5 hours long SP game on smallest possible map (quick strike - see Part 1 below) I decided to take Entrenchment online and test it there for a change... Usual
It all looks nice and fine but I hope you wont mind me being frank... 1. I remember number of similar "wow great" threads / sites / blogs during Vista beta and at the end it turned out to be pile of crap 2. So far what I read about Win 7 it feels like nothing else but "Vista patch" which is good news for sure but nothing to get me remotely excited... 3. Again, so far, I haven't read anything about fundamental redesigns to OS meaning that most probably we
I'm hoping this is just for the beta It is just for the beta, there was a notice on it when it was released. The full release of Entrenchment is supposed to allow you to switch at will between it and Vanilla.
Oh cool! This is one of the biggest pains for me at the moment... As long as final version allow us to switch between the two its all fine :)
As per what EadTaes said... But I find this to be rather lame to be honest... Cant we have 2 separate .exe files and let Impulse take care of both!?!?! Or anything else really that isn't this rather primitive and tedious work of installing / reinstalling / copy / pasting rubbish :s
great news :) thanks!
One, perhaps stupid question... When 1.13 gets out, us who got Entrenchment installed, can relax and ignore it or what!? Far as I remember Entrenchment overwrites original Sins... Also, what is general idea on compatibility between the two? For example, if I want to play with guy who hasn't got Entrenchment I need to make copy of original Sins and boot from there or Entrenchment will eventually be "clever" enough to automatically recognise who is who and what i
