Thanks Monk.

Okay, let's say it shows there are 350 players online. It then shows I'm in Lobby 6. What's the whole deal with this "Lobby 6" thing? Does this mean there are other players in other lobbies? Is the 350 just for Lobby 6 or is that the number of players online for all the lobbies? What if myself and my friend log into the game? Is it possible we will be in separate lobbies and will not be able to see each other in the game?
100,000! That sounds like a pretty good number. Especially for a space RTS game that isn't published by EA or Blizzard. I stopped being an EA fan when they ruined the pc version of Madden football. Anyway, it is great news this game is selling well. I hope they keep steamrolling ahead so we can get even more players online for multiplayer.
In my opinion, a good game doesn't need the best graphics although this game does have drop dead gorgeous graphics. It's just a beautiful game in every aspect.
Keep in mind there are technologies you can discover that will help you against Pirates. Eventually, your fleet will be powerful enough to decimate the pirates base.
Honestly they truly find it fun to win.
For sure. It's certainly more fun to win, but we're not going to stress over a loss. it's no big deal. On to the next game.
Always nice to see my name used in a positive manner..
Gasp! You can't use the great almighty Gog's name! That's blasphemy. Gog is God!
Good to hear. When you are ready for a legit clan game contact the Galactic Empire if you feel skilled enough. If not I suggest doing a couple games with the Ponies to develop your skill then after say five or six wins give the Galactic Empire a challenge offer.
That's fine, but MAGOG is and has always been a public clan of "friends for fun". We don't play it as a sport, but we do try to be as competitive as possible. However, winning is not our top priority. Fun is!<b
MAGOG clan members will have access to a wealth of information that I am creating. It will be screenshots and data concerning the faction ships and tech trees. I will have screenshots of all the maps showing planets and resources too. I will be updating our clan website this weekend www.magogclan.com
Thanks theleif. I'll look for you.
oh, wait, it's you. that explains it
Thanks for the unnecessary insult Dessirris. You're a pretty cool dude. I was skeptical because your link didn't work for me the first time. I would have provided the link below, since it contains the "sinsofasolarempire" url. [link="https://www.sinsofasolarempire.com/downloads.aspx"]https://www.sinsofasolarempire.com/downloads.aspx[/link] That would have prevented any confusion. But, it is
I noticed the game keeps up with total WINS for individual players. It seems like it would be very simple for Stardock/Ironclad to create a basic Leaderboard to display a list of players and their win record. Additionally, a leaderboard would be a great tool for clans to contact and recruit great players.
Search is your friend, but if she's mad at you, then...https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?libid=72
What are you talking about? That link doesn't work, and that link is not a part of the Sins website. Obviously there is no main link from the Sins website to download and upload replays. I think it would be awesome if there was.
Player profile statistics need to be expanded. I believe it only shows total WINS currently. We also need to be able to add a clan tag before our name. This would allow one to join and leave clans without hurting their win record. It would also be nice if you could right click on a player's profile and invite them to join your clan. If they accept then the clan tag will automatically appear before their name. The multiplayer chat lobby could also be improved
You should be HONORED if someone quits the game on you. Especially if you beat the snot out of them. Quiting and surrendering are the same. It does not bother me if someone quits as long as I get a WIN on my record. The question is, is the game designed to award a WIN to the person that stays in the game? [MAGOG]Kruelgor
...or they could just do what the Madden games do. If you quit the game then you will be awarded a loss on your record and a win to the person who stayed in. You could have a "SAVE AND CONTINUE LATER" request button where all players can accept and no wins or losses will be given.
Even though you are not using a router, be aware that some modems have router-like settings. If you can log into your modem with an ip address similar to http://192.168.0.1 then you should definitely do it and take a look at what's going on there. You might have some firewall settings or restrictions built into the modem that you can change.
Well, I'm definitely no experienced pro. I'm new just like most of us (except for Beta testers). I'll have to look into capital ships that can colonize. Thanks!
You are all right and have provided some great advice/feedback.I'm not sure if this is good or not, but I'm sure with experience I can get better at it, but it takes me 20 minutes to colonize 4 planets, have them cleared out of enemy units, 1 capital ship, and 10 frigates.By the way, unless you missed it in the original post. This is a strategy just for the beginning phase of the game. I'm not talking about disregarding scouting all together. I'm just talking about the first 10 to 20 minu

Is there a sub-category in forum or somewhere on the Sins website to upload and download game replays? I know of the website http://www.gamereplays.org , but I was hoping there is a convenient location here for that.
Also, to the OP's question of 6 caps vs. a 'mob' of frigates, the important thing to remember is it's not so much a battle between a mob of frigates against 6 caps. It's more appropriate to think of it as a series of 6 battles with a mob of frigates against one cap ship. It doesn't matter what level it is, that cap is going down quick. Pick the right one to kill first and the 6 cap fleet unravels pretty fast. You might get away with it with micro vs. the AI, but never against a decent hum
I'm not sure about the other races, but there is a discovery on the tech tree for Advent which will increase the rate of technology research.
[MAGOG]KruelgorI thought with your IWIN strategy you didn't use Cap Ships?
You'll need to post the link where I said I never use caps. Seems like you're making things up. Oh.....I know what you're referring to. You're talking about the post where I describe the INITIAL phase strategy. That's just a strategy for the first 10 to 20 minutes of the game. I try to make 8 to 10 capital ships within the first hour of the game.
