As it is, I find it's way too easy to play cat & mouse in this game. The AI constantly runs from you and it gets old quick. A way to slow their escape or prevent it for X number of seconds would be a blessing. Anti-matter ability on a new ship? Prevents all phase jumps for 10 seconds. 45 second cool down. Costs 30-40 supply. This way having one is truly tactical. Do you have a slightly weaker force with the ability to make your enemy unable to flee or a slightly stronger fleet? And if y

1) Get cap ship 2) Get ability to make missle frigates 3) Make missle frigates 4) Research phase missles 5) Profit Honestly, unless you're playing with a friend who wants to fast-tech you to dark armada, this is the easiest way to pull off wins with any of the 3 races.
The only feeling that I am lacking in the diplomacy department is that I still have to do jobs for these slackers to keep them happy while they make zero contributions to my empire. Now, if my empire is so big and bad why would I pay tributes to scum like them? That's what is wrong with the alliance system in general. IE, it's a one-way street. It doesn't give the player a feeling of being all-powerful with other nations begging for your alliance (which, imho, is how it should be if you are
I'm unsure if this was brought up already or not, but while playing TEC today I realized that two sound-bytes were copy-pasted from Starcraft. They are: The guass defense turret - Sounds like a Terran dropship picking up/dropping off troops Shield generator - Sounds like a protoss shield generator I actually went and played starcraft immediately after and confirmed, they are indeed the same sounds. My question is.. was this intentional? Is this legal? A
I was just about to say pervasive economy but someone beat me to it.
It's always that small PER phase stabilizer you use. So, tech up 2 planets in the back of your base with 3 each and you'll get about 30+ ships every 5 minutes for free. Unstoppable.
Solution: Play Vasari. Use dark armada for your fleet. Get the upgrade that gives you 15% more ships than the other side. Use only the Colonizing (Jarrasul) capital ship. At level 6, these ships gain an ability called Drain Planet. If you don't know about it, learn quickly. Drain planet gives you resources from the planet while damaging it. It takes only 30 seconds for drain planet to work from start-finish. With 3-4 drain planets going off at once, NO planet can survive. Also, IMHO, t
Now, i'm not a bug tester or anything and in fact, I stumbled across this on accident. Here is the bug: When you are sieging an enemy planet and take it over while there are still structures in the air around it. (IE, you sneak in a colony ship/bombing ships to steal the planet away from them without worrying about defense platforms) So after you take an enemy planet and go to the logistics/tactical menu of your new planet, it will tell you that there are no slots avail
I played a 2v2v2v2 game on hard. I was vasari and my computer ally was advent. So, as my species progressed across the galaxy, my ally started changing his fleet. (By this time I was using the dark armada fleet, so it gave me whatever random ships it wanted to, no siege ships - probably because i never bothered to research them). My ally must have picked up on my complete lack of siege ships because he had a TON of them. By a ton, I mean about 75% of his almost maxed out fleet capacity. I
I'm interested in hearing a response to this as well. I've been contemplating downloading the game as well.
Apparently the problem I'm experiencing is one between nvidia graphics drivers + vista. Supposedly vista is fixing this in service pack 1. However, SP1 is only available to beta-testers at this time. Not all games cause this error though. So, since someone else has already experienced this error, it looks like there is nothing I can do but hope and wait.
"Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered."
This is what I was looking for. This is the TF2 error I was talking about. If anyone knows if this is just a vista bug or what. I've googled the internets and can't find a solution to this problem. Since TF2 has that error I'm going to safely assume that this game will as well. Bummer, I really wanted to try this game out too. Ah well, if the community wants to help me figure out what the h
I recently stumbled upon this game from various gaming websites/forums rabidly raving about how sweet this game is. My only concern, is that about Five-ish months ago I bought a new gaming computer. Unfortunately, I didn't do enough research and am now unhappily stuck with Windows Vista (AKA piece of shista). While things have been getting slightly better due to my use of 3rd party programs like Wlan to stop annoying internet hiccups; most games still have flaws that do not work well on my co
