I would like to know which game do you think has more control of individual ships during combat. Is it Sword of the stars 1 and or 2, or is it Sins? I have played both of them and there is a few similar things that are common to both, no doubt Sins have more tougher looking human and alien ships, however when it comes to eye candy, in my opinion Sword seems to have more appealing eye candy such as moving turrets on the human ships&n

Dear Ironclad Please do not tamper with the capital ships unless you are making them even more realistic, cap ships move in a ponderous way because they are big and massive, they shouldn't move like nimble fighters turning on a dime. Take the time to review those cap ships on Babylon 5 and you will see that even with the advance gravitic drives of the Minbari all ships move according to Newton's laws which means that cap ship move like the cap ships on the hig
Ok I understand how within a star system phase lanes can connect several planets, for example since Earth and Mars remain more or less in their relative posistion I can see how a phase lane could connect the two. But what I am having a hard time seeing is how you can use a phase lane to jump from one star system to the next, I mean how would you know where the other end of that phase lane will terminate and how can two star system remain linked by a phase lane across the vast d
Mentalassassin I think you have answered that one important and nagging question for me, it true that I had become spoil to Homeworld2 and use that game as a standard to measure other games, but after playing Sins I found myself playing Sins more and more until I left Homeworld and moved in with Sins. Thanks for bringing me out of the dark ages :CONGRAT:
Serondal Homeworld 2 is a great game and I easily recommend it to everyone who likes to go out into space and do some realistic space naval combat using a ocean navy ship class of strength and weaknesses, for example frigates no matter their weapon load will be quickly beaten by a destroyer unless, like the real navy you have a number of them in a taskforce configuration and concentrate all of your firepower on that one destroyer and even then it is ify ;p If want to try buying Hw2 may
I keep reading about the fuss because some of the ships and technology is nearly the same. Well I may have an answer for you all. First mankind no matter if they are deviant or Tech will have similar technology to a certain point, the Unity of Cyber humans have deviated from the normal and invested more into mind altering firmware augmentation including wetware according to their beliefs, the Colition saw this as abhorrant , still no matter how advance their&
You know those vulcans perfectionist over at Ironclad, they wont set it out until they are satisfied that it will work! Way to go ;)
There is always room for better graphics, but I think Ironclad was just making sure that the game could be played by older computers at the lower end of the graphic's scale, however I too would like to see more detailed on the ships such as moving turrets and missiles firing from actual missile tubes, ships of course would have to turn to aim but hey you got to keep it real. My rig is pretty new so if Ironclad wants to really beef up the graphics then go ahead, MAKE MY DAY! I just hope that any
Holy Cow! Do those guys have families or ever leave the office, because they at Ironclad are moving at warp speed in working on Sins 2 so fast, all I can say Ironclad is that you must be a true, fanatical gamer, I always said that Sins would go for every title in the game industry ;)
I value everyone's opinion on the single player campaign issue and I can see why some gamers think that a single player campaign is wrong for sins, but I also agree with 1veovis1 and other gamers suggestions about short campaigns for bringing out the flavor of who each faction is. Of course I do love skirmishes and the harder the better because there is where you get bloodied before going up against some of you multiplayer gods, therefore if not a short single player campaign than at least a goo
SINGLE PLAYER CAMPAIGN PLEASE!!, This has got to be the number 1 gripe because Stardock came up with one hell of a game, I love the graphics and most everything about the game and being played in real time shows that Stardock is thinking big time. The opening story and background is very interesting, the Vasari being of an elitist older race should have way more advance technology then the humans, however, humans what we lack in tech stuff, we more than make up ign
Thanks for the answers to my question, but what about ship movement, do capital ships move like big, slow giants or like phony fighters turning on a dime in outerspace?. I would rather have a little less eye candy and a lot more Babylon 5 cap ship movement in any space game
I have played homeworld and so I kind of use it as a standard when playing other space games, that is why I would like to know which game is more like playing Homeworld one and two, is it Sins or the Starwars forces of corrupiton?
Yo man, what you will need is a couple of task forces in order to do your fighting on somebody elses planets and solar systems, this means building up your home fleet with enough units to defend your home turf but have enough also to detach and form in to smaller fleets or task forces for defending your colonies or crapping on your foes. This is one of the mean reasons that I really really like this game because the people that designed it stuck to real like naval planning, it is too simple of a
Here is an odd problem. I just recently bought Sins from Best Buy and it will not autoload for some reason so I took the game back and got another one and it also fail to autoload on my Dell 4600 series, I took that disk back and best buy tried it out and it failed somewhat on their computer too. I am stumped, I tested my cd drive several times with recent games and old ones as well and they all installed perfectly. What am I doing wrong? X-(
Being new to the multiplayer universe, I was just wondering if I instead of playing against another human could play against the ai or is it just in single player games do one play against the computer?
Life is not fair, sometimes the empire with the most ships and equipment wins, then again sometimes a smart ruler with lesser means will knock the stuffings out of pantywaist with no brains but a lot of fire power for example world war 2, after December 7 1941 surprise attack left much of the fleet at the bottom of Pearl habor, we had no choice but to be smarter with what was left of our navy against nearly full strength navy. Stardock I think put such odds in the game because most players love
Can't wait to get the new version of Sins, in my opinion all of these fixs can only make the game better and better, was hoping for more eye candy such as moving turrets and or more detail on the ships, but can live without. Thanks Stardock for caring enough to here what the fan have to say. PEACE!
I would like to see in any sins2 1. more control over individual capital ships or formations using different commands similar to Nexus game. 2. 3d combat and more animation when ships are hit i.e. scorch marks and damaged areas, eye candy such as moving turrets or ships must turn towards the target ships in order to fire in a particular weapon's arc. 3. Keep the phase lanes where they are but make the gravity well wider depending on the size of the planet i.e. bigger the planet wider
Thanks for clearing that misconception up for me , so what does the single player game consist of without a story? And which is better to get a good pratice session the single player mode or the skirmish mode?
I keep hear that there is no single player in sins, is this true and if so how do one get some pratice in before taking on the bigdogs in the multiplayer universe? Is there any tutorials or skirmishes to pratice on?
I am in the process of purchasing this game having played Homeworld2 as well as Nexus and Star wolves and Galactic Imperium, can anyone tell me if which is the most similar to sins and is there any humans in sins?
