The earliest we are playing this game is 2012...graphic cards will be 4x more powerful than current tech. How detailed can this game get? Any ideas?

I'm not sold that Diplomacy is even NEEDED in this game. If this was an MMO then I can see not wanting to be at war with everyone at the same time. But why waste resources to buddy up to someone who is going to declare war on you sooner or later. If they took a survey of Sins players...I don't think Diplomacy would have been in the top 5 of possible expansion directions to go in. And as has been said packs are little more than improving your war setting not diplomatic skills.
I love this game to death but, an ai that cant make something as simple as building superweapons is going to be really lacking in something as complex as diplomatic relations. I see no point in diplomacy....

Then as soon as the third race is defeated then what? Are Envoy cruisers from that point on in a 1x1 game no longer neccesary? And you cant send pirates on missions when there are just two teams left? The Sins of a Solar Empi

Don't mean to piss in the fire, but Sins is a space COMBAT game, lets not stress to far from that direction. Don't want Dawn of Discovery in space. And diplomacy for me in single player is a waste of resources, besides I like the last sweep up battles.
I would like one thing addressed, for those of us who play 1x1 single player, what's the point of the expansion pack at all? I would'nt mind an expansion of the Civ tecs, but Diplomacy and civ techs dont necessarly go hand and hand. I dont see the point of befriending someone in these games. Kill them and move on to the next planet. Better time would have be towards new toys, new race, different types of planets and wells. This isnt exciting me the way Entrech
I personaly feel pacts were created because they couldnt think of enough DIPLOMATIC options. So we'll just add more ship enhancements. Since I usually play single player 1x1 locked teams pacts are kind of pointless to me. Or am I wrong?
What I don't understand, and i know nothing about code, but if the ai knows how to build an envoy ship, why can't it learn to make superweapons? Anyone?

Am I missing something ? When its down to the last two empires fighting it out, is ANYTHING in Diplomacy useful? Not loving this expansion, as a single player locked teams kind of guy. I think the devs should have gone in a different direction. [e digicons]:X[/e]
it is at the very left lower corner in this pic. [e digicons]:X[/e]
Would it be possible to set a game against the ai where you set up THEIR pieces with a set number of points and then hit start? Sort of like playing chess against yourself.
This is a major flaw in the current single player experience, that the ai simply cannot handle 4 starbases in solar wells. It would be different if they built Starbases in solar wells on their own, but in all the games I've ever played ai does not build any. So unless the ai can be brought up to speed, the number of starbases the human player can build should be reduced. I know the multiplayer's will scream, but what

I thought it would be cool if a marine dropship or other siege ship connected to it.
If you break an alliance do you lose the pact bonuses?
i
To be honest I'm starting to think that Envoy ships may need some kind of help, as I was having quite a hard time getting mine through LTW's planets while playing a game with him last night. I solved this issue at the time by befriending an AI and having the AI attack his planet while I sent two envoys through. We'll see what others think on this I suppose.
Once you have decided to go all out and take everyone on these s
If this was a persistent world like an MMO I could understand the desire to make friends. But as a RTS, diplomacy is hardly needed, I wish the devs would have spent the considerable time on getting diplomacy in the game on something else. The second expansion with more toys, another race, etc... would have sold a TON, just ask your marketing department. As great as that game is don't try and make Sins into a Dawn of Discovery.
I guess it's because I play locked teams, but why would you want to spend resources to befriend someone when your eventually going to have to kill him? Why spend time and money to improve you and your ally, for at the same cost you can use it to attack? It's more fun to spend the money on blowing things to space dust. Now the pirates improvements are good, I just hope that the ai can handle you using pirate missions against them.
Quick question....besides the pirate improvements, does locked teams make Diplomacy mute?
I always thought because it's in their best interest that AMI and nvidia should finance a few pc exculsive games with graphics and scale only the pc can deliver. Do they want to sell graphics cards? Well give me a reason too.
I thought I seen a post of the devs stating that in the next beta, embassies are out, it is the envoy cruiser that will have the bonuses.
