It seems the devs might of gotten ahead of themselves..they are working on the second expansion but there are issues that need to be addressed now. One being all the formentioned posts about lack of ai building sb's in star wells. I've come to the conclusion that Vasari need a anti-structure ship because the vasari ai will not build a starbase to take down yours. At leas

I always wondered what that portal door towards the back of the Kol was , it was a shuttecraft dropship to land marines. [e digicons]*_*[/e] One ship can drop them per race.
I'mstarted to feel like Stardock should take the improved and more challenging AI statement out of their entrenchment sales line! I wonder if they dev are workon a patch with AI tweaks, I sure hope so.
I don't know if I'm getting better or.....it seems once you have a decent fortification, winning against the ai is just a matter of time.(hard) No more swamped and attacked from every angle. BTW ai STILL doesnt use superwea
Just to add to it, having played in several 6+ hour games in the last two days since acquiring the expansion, I have to say that the defense buildup for Unfair AI is pathetic. They place their starbases quite poorly, and too often they have little to nothing backing it up. Prior to the expansion, the harder AIs were quite difficult for me to defeat. Right now, I feel as though I could take 3 of them on at once, and win. <br
Much better after Jan 20th Thankyou
If I'm tec and I want to set the enemy to random, the ai might set a tec to play against me. Is there a way to set "random" BUT NOT tec? This way in game I would not know if I'm fighting vasari or Advent untill we come into contact.
i know the specs were tweeked on this update. but the threshold is too close. the tec scout slows to a stop inside the detection range. thus the scout sees the mine, but then gets killed soon after when the mine turns on the scout that should be out of range. the only way to clean the advent mine field is to spam scouts into the mines losing the scouts in the process.
Mine detection is dangerous, your going
I have mentioned this too no avail. It seems to me that the ai in entrechment doesnt really no how too use all it's toys, or to deal with mine. Enemy Starbases fall way to easy....even on hard. The fact that the ai doesnt use their super weapons is a major oversite.
As a TEC player who plays ai hard...I should fear the Vasari, and Advent starbases when I see them, but 10 or more torpedo cruisers and BOOM. Something has to be done with the ai not supporting its own starbases.
Anyone else think that the Vasari minelayer looks like the Predator's face?
My idea for a campaign for Sins is very simple. All the devs have to do is connect 30 systems in a chain, you play skirmish just like you do now except, every new system(level) would introduce a new varitable. For instance the first sytems would be just the nuetral colonys, but with increased difficulty. Later levels (systems) would introduce the Advent, then later levels Vasari(if you play tec) each new system would have n
I wonder if the dev's let the ai surrender sooner in order to "speed" up gametime.
First which race? and what function? My idea is too turn the fleet sizes from a "graphic" to a orbiting academy. If your enemy targets your academy, you would lose your "sailors".
There was not an as obvious lag before entrechment.
attack.
I was wondering if there was ANYONE in the vasari base at all ....more like a huge forward offensive/defensive STRUCTURE. Beside's with the funky movement of the base , inside living would be like a boat in rough seas...forever.
Will take atleast 6 months to iron out the kinks in entrnehcment and the balance issues that will come up. After that it will take 1-2 months for them to start talkign about the next expansion. / more months before beta starts and 2-3 months of beta testing. So 9-11 months. Just under a year. Unlest someone from IC coem and say they hope to be bale to do it faster.
That's what I'm thinking.........
If Entrechment took a year after the original release of Sins, does that mean the second will take until next Feb? Or do you see the second coming in time for Christmas and maybe third expansion for next summer? Of 2010?
I wonder if on 3 stars or more games...if you start to erase/cash in unused things in the systems that there is no activity/fighting this would help the graphics in the current system your in. Or is the engine limited to showing a certain amount of flash at once?
I'm guessing thats when the engine is showing it's limits. But it's better to lose a few explosions/beams than to start to lag.
Quoting wbino, reply 12NOLF 3 There's a third one?! Or do you mean the NOLF 2 expansion Contract J.A.C.K.? My advice is don't follow pre-release hype, you'll live happier if and when the games can't fulfill their promises. Thats what'll i do with Mass Effect 2, i've only watched the teaser trailer, and wiil now refuse any info on it untill it's released
No their is not a third one thats the disappointment.
NOLF 3
Maybe a more powerful, customize ship, but not larger, unless you make planets bigger. As it is now cap ships and frigates are huge compared to the celestal bodies in-game.
