I've had a couple of mds when as TEC I was hunting down mines. Before entrechment I never had any issues with sins, in fact sins was so stable that I never saved a game in progress I just knew I would have no errors.
If it were up to me, the Vasari base wouldn't move either. It just doesn't feel right
I agree starbase's don't move. Someone stated that a starbase could chase a scout to the other side of a well, THEN you warp in with your fleet. I havent tried it yet, but I bet you can exploit the ai that way. Starbases just need across the well range. Or if thats not tech possible, how about when you build a starbase its actually a pair of base
Maybe if you got a special one of a kind bonus/when you kill a Starbase it would be interesting. Say every cap in your fleet regardless of position would level up. And maybe instead of destroy only options/ how about a boarding/assualting/taking a Starbase over? That's what I love about this game the possibilities are endless.
Maybe an icon in the empire tree for every 100 mines instead of 10.
I don't see why orbital bombing ships weren't repurposed to also attack structures. They're basically massive lightly armored guns, they're best ship for both jobs.
That's a great idea. It would give two reasons to make this frigate.
I say get rid of the torpedo cruisers and give us minesweepers. They could be a mid to late game tech. If you have to hunt mines manually like now that would suck.
Do I have to hear when every mine is constructed? How bout a all mines are deployed wav.?
ags19, try getting your latest video card drivers and/or turn down your texture quality settings. These early dumps often are caused by texture overload.
Craig, I get a md only when I exit the game ,can play for hours.(As soon as I hit end game) I wonder if the ram on the 8800gtx is the reason I dont get the 10 min md. But there is a mem leak.....
Mines do bring the game to a crawl. I spend more time trying to clear a well of mines, that it literaly stops the game. It becomes a mine hunt. Btw I think its IS stupid that you can see enemy mines in the empire tree.
I think they should have a researchable quantit (just like Capital Ship limits), they should cost more, take longer to build, be immobile (seriously the Vasari one looks stupid moving) have about twice the hitpoints and triple their current range, as well as more researchable capabilities. Right now they're effectively useless. There's simply no compelling reason to build them or attack them if the current planet isnt' your ta
Ho Ho Hoshiko. May the spirit of the season guide your fleets to victory
So the dev solution to this is to turn DOWN my settings? No to be an ass, but Crysis ran on high setting on my rig w/o a minidump. btw I can get games to run hours...just get a md for no know reason. Btw when it says send a report thats to MS not you correct?
I know this is beta...but the devs dropped the ball on this one. Starbases were supposed to make our jaws drop, but this supposed behmoth is a wuss. Plus whats with the clipping? cap ships flying thru my starbase?
Was this error given in a note pad document?
I got that notepad error, but since the game seemed to be fine , I ignored it. Now I have minidumps for the first time. And I had 1.12 before Entrechment. So is that notepad error my problem?
If you think about it mines dont HAVE to explode, they should just deny the space their in. Enemy ships would SEE them and avoid. You would not get the booms but the mines would serve their purpose to deny space and funnel ships toward your defenses. There would be of course a limit..and this would solve the mine clearing problem. Also without exploding you solve the "why arent friendly ships get hurt also?"( by their own mines) just a thought.....
This happened to me as TEC. The Akkan was in the well with colonize on, but when i realized there were nuetral siege ships, I clicked colonize off, but it still proceded to colonize.
It kind of defeats the purpose of knowing/not knowing if mine's are in the well.
It would be helpful if the DEVS told us what was possible and whats not, this way we know whats pie in the sky and whats not.
Sins NEVER crashed on me before Entrechment...now I have this issue.
Starbases should not move.Their to cheap, built to fast. Much longer range. Elite fighter/bomber's (starbases only) (new ships) would cover grav well starbases can't get to. Upgrade my Starbase to a trade port? boooring. Enough support they need balls.
So basically us single player gamers..have to suffer AGAIN do to online problems. Hey there's an idea...release Entrechment as single player only until you resolve online problems.
Homeworld 2 with the complex mod is all I play nowadays. That and GalCivII, but HW2 is something special, and the Complex mod makes it incredible.
What excatly is the Complex mod? I'm a graphic's whore. Played Homeworld...(Yes song btw)Loved it ! In fact went out a bought a Riva TNT, because my Voodoo 2 was showing banding in the graphics.... but for some reason never got 2.
When the TEC tech's to rebels....should'nt you be able to direct them? Also when your in the same well asthe rebels your ship's should not fire on the rebels helping you and visa versa.
One of the dev's said they played around with bigger planets, but it got in the way of the camera.
So everyone's is in agreement...it's Vasari?
