I really hope we can get a deticated suggestions forum. It has been asked for multiple times but the team is quite busy. More game modes like king of the hill and hell even capture the flag would be awesome.

Hmm, thats a lot of extra work but it would be much more convenient to have the ideas and the story in separate threads. I'll see what I can do when I get some more time off. Also sorry bout the lack of updates but I realized I forgot to add something major in at the beginning. That doesn't mean I have to start over but I do have to rewrite some stuff. Starting from the top.
A better question would be if any of us could replicate it. Sounds like a bug.
More dev journals pls!
A summary is a great idea. That would also allow me to post the rewritten story in a seperate thread. The only real problem is keeping both updated and current at the same time. One would probably languish on the back pages and I hate bumping stuff when I have nothing to add.
Chapter 2: In the Hand of Giants (part 2) The first giant watched from on high as his forces rained missiles upon the approaching army. First the archers, arrows leapt from every bow as fast as they could be aimed. High in the towers the marksmen tracked targets before jerking backwards. Propelled by the immense recoil of thier crossbows. Behind them all sounded the heavy crack...crack-crack of the repeating bolt throwers. Below them the enemy army re
When you say Steam wouldn't go into offline mode, did you try to set it and it didn't work? Or did you just try to fire up plants vs zombies while not connected to Steam? Offline mode is something you have to activate manually.
But on the same token we don't have enough desirable behaviour either. An Ogrov ordered to attack a starbase come hell or high water will fight to the death. But an Ogrov just sitting somewhere will do absolutly nothing when attacked.
Thanks for the imput! I know the story seem loopy at times. The reason is that this is not actually a *story* story. It is a power goal. In other words this is a method of generating ideas that works on a number of levels. When I think of an idea (like thermobaric torpedoes) I first have to see if it will sound good on paper. If the idea can get that far and convince me that it holds merit, I take it one step further and demonstrate it in "action". After the story is said and done I s
The problem is that by removing all weapons you make those ships "too stupid to attack". This is a problem because they are also "too stupid to run away". I think every ship should have at least some minimal armament, perhaps limited to point defense. Even colony frigates have guns.
Sorry I haven't been posting much, we are crazy busy on lots of new stuff. Thanks for your patience
Take your time! Can't wait to hear about the new stuff.
I finally got my hands on the game soundtrack and it is AWESOME. So I was thinking, why not add a music selector the UI? All you need is a drop-down list of songs and a track bar. Play, Stop, Shuffle, Repeat, Merge, Mute, all of the other buttons could easily fit in one little corner.
Doh, I had the wrong link all along. Well it works now, thanks Annatar.
Oh man Descent. I played the heck out of the demo. Nowadays I can hardly imagine how I did it without a joystick. That was the first ever game I played that allowed you to turn upside down and keep going.
In Sins it is just assumed that every planet and asteroid out there has a huge civilian population that never dies out. According to the lore this is because Sins takes place in TEC space and every planet has a human population. That would also explain why all the militia ships are TEC. I guess colonizing a planet is not so much about founding cities as it is controlling native populations for tax purposes.
Wasn't there some talk about allowing non-collector owners to pay a little bit extra and get the collectors edition content? Would that be what the 5$ is all about?
I have the box on a shelf above me and "hyper" is whats written there. Could it be that they are the same game and package differently? Hyper 3d has IIRC a space table, a mobster table, a circus table, a frankenstein table, a fantasy sort of table that I don't recall very well and I think one more...
Its silly because most DRM has long since ceased to be anything that fits the technical definition of "malware". DRM has a horrible reputation that WAS well deserved. Nowadays things have changed somewhat.
It logs in fine but the only option displayed on that page is the 5$ box copy.
EDIT: Okay starting the rewrite, everything done will be between quad dividers. (----) Yup we call that the Rule of Cool. Anyway I have a little time to start chipping away at Chapter 2. The story begins long before the current battle takes place. But the action starts at about the time Icarus is ejecting from his fighter. Don't expect it to end well. These are not the Sins you remember. [e digicons];)[/e] I borrowed the theme from a podcast audi
The first link asks me to register my copy of Sins. The second link just asks me to log in. Upon doing so the only thing available is a link to upgrade to the boxed copy for 5$. This is required for the collectors edition content right?
On paper it sounds simple that a group of 10 units can all move 2 inches or whatever per round. But are you actually going to use a ruler to measure each and every one? Or would you just do it by eye?
You are mixing names there. Gauss guns use magnets to accelerate objects down a tube. Railguns use a current that jumps between two rails to create opposing magnetic fields that propel objects along a firing track. I think its called "Lorentz force" but my spelling might be off on that. Literally speaking a "mass driver" is any device that drives mass. Even my foot would qualify. But in Sci-fi it generally refers to one of the above.
HOLY HELL! so THAT was the name of that jurassic part RTS. I remember playing it in a computer store years and years and years ago and I never could remember the name! By 3d pinball do you mean hyper 3d pinball? I still have the disk for that around here somewhere...
