As far as I'm concerned you need to have at least stepped foot once on the planet. Also, make sure you didn't lose one of your military labs since you HAVE to have 8 (I think) to fire it.
That part about not being able to fire it if you lose a military lab is silly. I can just imagine the conversations that must take place amongst the military muckety-mucks. "Uh...we can't fire because when one of our military labs was detroyed we forgot how to push the big red button!"

Culture is an excellent addition to the game and a core part of the game. It just adds another strategic dimension to it. Perhaps you hate this aspect because you don't fully understand it? That link to the Sins Wiki page is an excellent guide to understanding how it works. However there are some other aspects to it, such as benefits to your fleet when fighting in area where your culture is strong, etc.

If you come play the game in online multiplayer, which is much more challenging, I think you'll find that most games are over within two hours and players (opponents) quit the game (giving you the Victory screen) once it's more or less been conclusively decided (your empire of 15 planets against their five).
Basically it just seems to be a big wall of ships, sitting face to face with another wall of ships, as they all just blast each other. There is very little strategy, tac
not to bust all of this, this is your strategy, i personally see this as a somewhat newb tactic cuase its used as a basic there are so many factors 2 look at it is impossible to have a set strategy explained in detail how many asteroids have u got, how many militia are present on nearby planets, how close are your enemies, do you have a nearby ally who's "clearly" going military/economic?to much factors r undetermined b4 u start the game
I agree. Let's j

For the record, I'll only quit a team game once it's obvious that my team cannot win and that the game has already been decided. Why waste time with a foregone conclusion? That's different than quitting when your own empire is on the ropes but your team is winning overall or is still very much in the game. Anyone who's played the game online enough knows when it's really "over". What I find kinda annoying is when someone on the losing team, normally just one guy since everyone

Uh...what does Rebel Genius do? Play other clans? Is there even a clan scene at all or are the "clans" really just community groups of players? From what I can tell, this game doesn't have much multiplayer activity and not enough to support a bona fide clan scene.

It's fun to think of it as being Star Wars style, but I suspect that the reality would be very different. That's all I can say really. Without having any knowledge about what kind of technology is physically possible, it's impossible to say. Heck, it might not even be possible to travel to other stars; as much as we might not like the idea, it may be a physical impossibility and a magical warp drive or jump drive might not be possible even if we knew everything there was to know about th

I went to fire my Novalith cannon last night as TEC and received a message saying that it was necessary to have explored the target planet first. What exactly is required? Is it enough to have merely had a scout or any ship pass through the target gravity well at some point or does it need to have been recently explored? If it needs to have been recently explored, then how recently? Is an implication of this that a TEC should always have one or two scouts set to auto-

Is it possible that someone knocked down one of your military labs? If so it will just stop during construction and resume when you're back up to 8 military labs. Just happened to me in a game.

I agree. For that matter, the game itself could use a big reworking of the multiplayer interface. I'd like to be able to join multiple chat channels and manage them like IRC tabs. I'd also like to be able to pull up a game browser while I'm already signed up for a game or hosting a game and waiting for it to fill. Again, that could be done with some sort of a tabbed system.

A Sins MMO...interesting idea, but I wonder how computers would deal with having 100,000 ships at a time. It might require a radical reprogramming of the game so that it were server based.

The clans are more or less inactive and the game needs a much bigger online multiplayer base to support clans, but there's still lots of action for the online multiplayer during prime time; just not much clan activity.

Are you saying that the 7 Deadly Sins mod will be a part of 1.1 or that it should be part of 1.1? Or are you trying to communicate something entirely different?

I suggest that he learn how to use IRC and get on the #stardock channel on irc.Stardock.com. I've chatted with the developers and support folks there before. I've received fast and friendly support that way. It's sad that so few people are IRC literate today.

Welcome to the Sins online multiplayer community. In this game, at least early on, you always want to be expanding the size of your fleet at least until you've done the second fleet supply upgrade. The basic strategy early on is to spam out LRMs and try to have more than the other guy (which involves some strategy itself).
ive calmed down a bit now, because ive realised its worth the wait, especially if it makes life easier for modders.
Um, how is 1.1 supposed to make life easier for modders? As far as I know all that's been confirmed about 1.1 is that it will change the multiplayer networking so that just about anyone can host games even if they haven't messed around with the router and that's it. As far as I know, no official announcement has come out saying that the game w
The last non-mmo game I tried playing online turned out horribly.I played the game for a month+ having fun, then logged on vent one day and found out it was all young teenage boys, I'm a married, adult woman, you have no idea how creepy it made me feel.
