I think they should leave it the way it is. RA is not invincible and getting it up and humming is very expensive and comes at the expense of military readiness. What happens if you get rushed while you're investing all of your credits and minerals in Imperial Labs, Phase Gates, and RA research? If you nerf RA there will no longer be any reason to play Vasari at all, IMHO.
Honestly I dont think that the TEC has it that bad. So individually its units suck. The TEC is MEANT for spamming. They have the best economy in the game.
All of the races have their advantages and disadvantages, strengths and weaknesses. The TEC get the Novalith cannon (by far the most powerful and most useful of the three super cannons) and they can rush the enemy better than any of the other races in the game. In an online game I choose my race based on my ex
Haven't played a single game online. Won't. Don't need to.
But the game is so much more interesting and challenging playing with and against real human opponents online and you can chat with other people and enjoy using teamwork. Once you start playing it online you probably won't want to play it offline again.
They should have it so that in large random maps 4v4 , players on the same team will start together.I really hate it when 20 minutes into the game , someone leaves/quits because he got ganked due to a harsh starting position. Also ...sometimes the first asteroid is missing the phaselane to the homeworld. This is really harsh.
I dunno. On the one hand it does kinda suck if you're the guy who starts between the opposition and you know they're gonna try to take you out ASAP,

If you'd start playing online and patiently wait for the game types you'd like to play to form, then we'd have one more person playing it online . I think activity will pick up some with the 1.1 patch and perhaps once the expansion comes out. It's too bad that the expansion can't (or rather, won't) include an online multiplayer tutorial and some sort of prod or invitation to get people who only play the game in single player to come online, something like: "Congratulations! It sounds like most of your complaints are superficial. If you want eye candy and graphics, I suggest Crysis or UT3. If you want 4x RTS then I recommend Sins. The game lacks a campaign? So what; this isn't an RPG or an adventure game; it's a strategy game. The real game is online multiplayer, btw. Log onto Ironclad Online and go against real human opponents.

I'm wondering if it would be possible to adjust Galaxy Forge-made map files so that players without the map files can join games for them on ICO and so that they will auto-download. After all, maps made with the Map Designer will auto-download for people, so why not custom maps? Is there something, somewhere, in the map file that prevents it from happening, something that would be easy to modify? I opened up one of my custom map files and a map made with the Galaxy Designe

Another difference between the two files is that mine had: recommendedGameType "TwoTeamsOfThree" In contrast, the Map Designer-made files just show an FFA recommendation, so I removed that line. I was then able to pull up the list of Custom maps without a minidump and even started a single player game, but it ended immediately with a defeat. I opted to keep playing and it showed the other five factions as having been defeated too and didn't show any evidence of planets o

Result -- Minidump. I changed the lines in my custom map file to look like the lines from a Map Designer made map and save it, leaving it in my Application Data's Galaxy folder. Anytime you try to pull up the Custom Map menu for a single player game, it minidumps. Removing it ends the minidumps. Hope we can get to the bottom of this and enable Galaxy Forge-made map auto-downloading for online play. Here's what I replaced that caused the minidumps: Original: <br

Is there a way to adjust map parameters so that they will auto-download for online play? After all, the "Random" maps will auto-download to people after they're designed and so will the ones made with the Map Designer. So is there something in a map's text file that can be changed so that custom maps will auto-download? What is this parameter, exactly? RecommendedGameTypeCount=2 I'm comparing my custom map text files to the standa

Maybe Ironclad/Stardock should try to find a way to encourage people who buy the expansion to consider playing online. Perhaps they could include an online multiplayer tutorial and invitations that pop up after you defeat hard AI? "For a greater challenge and meet other Sinners and make new friends, come play online."
Well, I'm going to wait a little while, see what the regulars say about the balance, wait for the complaints and then decide But not wait too long either. Until then I'm sticking to SP.
Almost immediately after I started playing it in online multiplayer I realized that I would no longer enjoy playing it in single player. For me the choice is to either play Sins in online multiplayer or play something else (probably in online multiplayer).

Which race is best? That depends on the size of the map you're playing, how many people are playing, exactly who those other people are, your familiarity with a given race, and your playing style.

How exactly does culture affect ship's and to what extent does it do that? Is it based on the "Allegiance" value of the planet in the gravity well where you are fighting? I'd like to be able to quantify the effects.

Did you lock the teams so that the AI can't form alliances? Also, when you reload a saved game you might need to check the Game Options to make sure the teams are still locked.

This game's saving grace is that the game itself is pretty good which encourages people to be patient. If you're patient, eventually a game will form and fill up. I suggest looking for other things to do while you wait. How about some Internet surfing or IRC chatting while waiting for the game to fill? (I always play in Windowed mode so I can go back and forth easily.)

Higher prices for gasoline are inevitable because of what's called "Peak Oil". Basically, because the amount of oil under the ground is finite, eventually our ability to pump it out of the ground will "peak" at which point less and less will be available. In the meantime, worldwide demand for oil has increased dramatically (China, India). You only need to do the economic math to figure out where the price point is headed. Unfortunately this does mean that our standard of living
