If you ordered today you should still get access. Your order is just at the end of the list. All the orders that were taken over the past couple months are being done in the same order they came in. So someone ordering right when it was announced is ahead of mine (from last month), which is ahead of yours (today). But it should still get done. If you don't have access by tomorrow, you should bug support. :)
Thanks guys. I updated DirectX and it helped but now I'm missing fmod.dll (which I also have in my Sins install directory).
fmod is an audio middleware library. That not being included with Entrenchment is a bug, IMO. Nobody can be expected to have it.

Make sure that "show pre-release versions" is enabled in Impulse (click the blue orb). Once you get the email saying it's been processed, it should show up for download. It'll take a while if you just ordered, as there are a lot of orders in front of you to get through first. :)

Two tradeports at one planet will generate more income then one tradeport, yes. Each tradeport generates a certain amount of credits, that amount is determined by the longest trade route (and the TEC cargo hold technology). Far as I know, allied planets can count if you have the Trade agreement with them. Advent don't have refineries, yeah. They use that resource focus. Stacking those in one system also increases the effect. I like refineries better, presonally. <p

We get the full game too. Hell, I paid *less* for it because I used the Survey coupon. If I were buying after beta, I wouldn't have that coupon. Paying less AND getting to help

I'm going to assume it's a serious but frustrated person. If you have a fast connection, what you might want to do is uninstall Sins. Then load up Impulse, and tell it to install Sins. That *should* do it in a way that makes things happy. If it's still not working, you'll need to bug support probably.

What buying now gets you is access to the beta. Look around the forums, people don't consider it "testing an unfinished product." It's a perk that people want. If you don't want that, nobody is forcing you to do testing. Wait until release and buy it then. But I'm not really clear why Stardock would make another coupon just because you didn't read the expiry notice, especially when we're talking about $2.

Nobody really knows that. But we're not talking about Blizzard here. If a developer has to deal with ICO issues (and if they're code related, they do), that takes someone away from Entrenchment. The logic is pretty sound. :) (Though I'd be quite happy to be wrong on this one.)

Now that you can build more ships, be careful not to do that research too fast. :) You saw the "Fleet Upkeep - 0%" thing from an earlier post. When you increase your fleet capacity (so you can have more ships), that upkeep number goes up. That's a tax taken off all your income. More ships is good. Just make sure not to try to research ship capacity up too far in the early going, since you're paying for it even if you don't actually build the ships
1. Modding hardocdes. We want them gone. Now. You guys, say "It would require a total engine re-write." I say, "So? DO IT ALREADY!". We say, "Why are there even the hardcoded limits?" You say, "We switched direction multiple times during development." I say if your engine is a slapped-together amalgamated kludge since you had no idea what you were doing during the development process, that is your problem for y

I rarely have problems with Starforce games too, but my father in law does. I helped set up his machine. It's not abnormal. He doesn't pirate stuff. But it just doesn't work with his drive for some reason. I can take the same disk in my computer and it works fine. Cases like that really do exist, and they're a real problem. It drove him away from PC gaming entirely in the end, now he has an Xbox 360. When he puts a disk in that, it plays. That should not be too much to
EVE is the only game to play if you got above avarage IQ.
See, this is the kind of thing that turns people off the EVE community. Liking the game has nothing to do with IQ. If you don't like pvp, there simply isn't a reason to play the game. You can be a genius, and still fit that category.

Entrenchment is mostly about defense. The current defenses are beefed up, and stronger. Plus you can build Starbases, which are MASSIVE defense platforms that theoretically are going to require fleets to take down. If you put one at the star, any invasion into the system is going to have issues. We think. Waiting for the beta to find out for real. :)

EVE is a cutthroat game. It's not built around fairness. If someone who has been playing for years catches you in a spot where they can kill you outside a safe area, they'll take it. It's also not like WoW, the death penalty is harsh in that you lose your ship. It's really popular with certain hardcore types, but doesn't offer much to anybody else.

You might get farther if you start by saying what you think makes a GOOD MMORPG. All I can tell from this post is that you dislike everything.

142 Replies 394,295 Views

If you want to be able to attack and defend at the same time, the best solution before Entrenchment comes out is to make a second fleet for defense. It doesn't have to be as big as your offensive fleet, since you can build repair platforms & hangar bays at your planets to help make it more effective. As you noticed if you try and stick with one fleet, you'll be coming back to deal with the AI constantly. There's no way to stop the AI from usin
