Looks good. Now I can go back to waiting for Entrenchment! :)

Vasari players don't really have the option to NOT use the phase gates ,with the current Interface. If you tell ships to go to planet X, they use a gate if its faster. So if destroying the gate sent the ships back, the player would need to manually guide those ships from planet to planet in a transport route that ignored the gates, because having them sent back would make getting reinforcements there take even longer. It'd make the gates more of a liability then a help.

Looks good! Now get that beta out so we can try it! [e digicons]:D[/e]
Broadcast towers do help your planets, both by repelling enemy culture (which lowers allegiance), and by raising it. The cap is 10% higher then what the planet starts at, so your capital can actually go to 110% (120% for Advent). Otherwise it's as Annatar said. The maximum is figured out based on the total jumps between the world and your capital. For really big maps, far off worlds will cap at 35%, and nothing can raise it except the Advent tech. <p
Start with a capital ship factory, and build a Progenitor Mothership (first capital ship is free). Then do the tutorial so you have an idea of how to play. :)
To explain in a bit more detail. You get an account with Stardock, and it gets credited to that. You then download the game with Impulse. (www.impulsedriven.com) So long as you use that Impulse account, you can downoad it as many times as you want, on whatever computers you want. There's nothing stopping you from having it on a desktop and a laptop at the same time, for example. :)
IZArc ( http://www.izarc.org/ ) can open them too. They get treated like .zip files basically. :)
Broadcast stations stack up. Each one provides the same benefit in the sector, so two is 2x better then one... I think. I do know they stack, so more is better. :) The thing is that the culture spread from a broadcast center decreases as you move away from it. Putting four at one planet will do a lot there, but won't do much of anything a few hops away (one station one hop away is better then three stations three hops away).
In short, why would they? Too many game players are like drug addicts. They'll buy anything for a few hours of quick fix, then go looking for something else. The market doesn't demand that they do better, so they don't.

I usually leave pirates on and once I get a couple of capital ships, don't bid for them anymore. Mmm, tasty ship XP.
Yeah, I've seen that happen even before 1.1. The AI decides that a world is what it wants to attack. So it sends the taunt message, gets there, and then realizes it's a friendly world and leaves.
One thing to keep in mind is that if the Kostura Cannon works on Starbases, it will become MUCH stronger once Entrenchment is out.
What anti-spyware programs? Did they give a report of what failed? I'm curious.
You only play offline... As our unofficial Sins online multiplayer cheerleader, I really hope you'll consider coming online sometime (it's that Ironclad Online button). If you don't want to play against other people then play in humans v. AI games. You'll get to meet other Sins players and chat and it would be fun to have human teammates.
I didn't know people were playing human v
He looks to be one of these min/maxer types where anything other then the absolute ideal thing is going to get "massacred" in every game everyone plays, all the time.
Unless you want to. I always find it fun to have lots of capital ships. (Course I only play single player, where you can get away with it more often.)
Well, I do care that it installs properly and doesn't wipe out my system. ;) If it's going to be labelled as beta, its okay if its not balanced or if something doesn't work though. That's what beta means! :) I think we all want to get our greedy hands on it soon.
You are getting 2 karma for that. True dedication. I'm impressed and that's exactly why I bought this game, because the makers are truly about customer service and making the best possible gaming experience.
How do you give Karma for the original post? I can't find the thumb button for that one?
Wow that was really interesting, thanks for the post! :D I bet you felt pretty good when you finally tracked that bug down.
When it comes to MMOs, the launch is all important. Its VERY hard to recover from a poor first three months. In the case of TR, its probably too late, and would be incredibly risky. I'd rather Stardock focus on their other games then devote energy to a lost cause.
I pre-ordered too. Delays happen. I would like to see some feedback on where things are in development though.
I'm still having problems. It says "Downloading Impulse Update - Verifying", and its been saying that for five minutes now. There's no download activity going on, and I'm on a fairly zippy computer (dual core Intel, Vista 64 bit, 4GB RAM). It appears to be idle as far as I can tell. edit - Closed Impulse (since it wasn't hung), and restarted. Update started in a couple of seconds, and now Sins is downloading happily. So nevermind. :)
Bad precident. I'm a cat person, I'm going to ask you 50 times now to eliminate the dog population. ;)
