No diplo victory?? Is the only way to win through military means? That might be a deal breaker for me.
I don't know if it has diplo victory or any other conditions besides conquest. My point is that it doesn't have *allied* victory, meaning that in a coop game you can't have a situation where your team (ie 2+ players) all win at the same time. There's some people on the forum for the ga

hmm. Alright thanks. I'll keep watching for now. :) I did learn that right now there's no allied victory or coop tools like that. You can ally during the game, but in the end to actually get a victory screen you need to cancel that alliance and try to beat each other. Hopefully they change that.
I'm going to take that you haven't actually played the expansion....I'd like to point out that a whole host of improvements were made completely independent of Espionage and Religion...while those were the marketed selling points, I think the host of smaller improvements and additions are far more important and easily overlooked by Civ V haters and reviewers... Seanw3, you're filling me with hope here. I've been watching this one and praying that it turns out well, but have been torched too many times to want to risk a pre-order. If it's really as good as you make it sound, I'm going to have to break out the wallet. How's the MP? Is it possible to play with someone in a coop kind of way and team up against some AIs? As for SotS 2... that was quite possibly the most ruinously bad launch I've ever seen. And I was here f
I didn't like Civ V (well, I wanted to like it, but got bored really fast) and hoped this expansion would fix it. That worked out poorly. Based on everything I've read and my own experience, I think you can summarize this one easily. If you like Civ V without it, then you'll still like it. If you didn't like Civ V for any reason whatsoever, there is NOTHING here that will change your mind. Also think this expansion is overpriced. Fundamentally it's yet anot
I wanted to like Civ V. I really did. I even went back to it when Gods & Kings came out. Can't do it. The combat AI is dumb as rocks, and everything else just flows downhill from that. I don't bother making units except a couple of very early game ones. There's no particular need to. You can buy one or two if someone dares to attack you, and that's all you need to beat an army double your size. Without massive cheats the AI stands no chance against even a h

Perhaps throwing frigates against it is just the wrong strategy, on purpose. Like trying to destroy flak with strike craft. What if it goes face-to-face with a starbase? How many capital ships are needed to destroy the VR Titan without frigate/cruiser support on both sides? Those are all valid comparisons which, depending on the answer
Just to point out that the Vasari Rebel Titan is currently quite possibly the strongest Titan in the entire game. Nanoleech is so broken right now that attacking the thing with frigates/cruisers (that aren't carriers) only makes it stronger. People in beta were using it by itself to fight 1000+ supply fleets, and winning. Besides that, you can only attack with one Starbase at a time. So why not augment it with the Titan?
Just going on a hunch, but when the first *line* of the post contains "Rebellion team (SD?IC? I dont know anymore) is composed of morons incapable of balancing the game", the only surprising thing is that it got to page 2 before being locked. I'm not sure why you were even remotely surprised by the outcome, and since after that you took to throwing around words like "Nazi", it's clear that you're only hanging around to troll anyway. So good riddence.

Wasn't that supposed to be version 1.01?
If you downloaded it right around 1pm, that was still the beta version. There was a delay in deploying the real one.
The short version, "I don't like this sort of game much." Ok.
Reading the first line of his post would disprove that assertion pretty quickly. Rebellion really isn't that big as far as expansions go.
Yes you can play in single player mode. In that case you just set up a bunch of AIs to play against.
I'm annoyed by them because this forum has a huge amount of empty space on both sides, and yet they jammed them into the middle of the thread requiring more scrolling to get past them. Sticking a banner ad in the middle of the thread on a professional website is just tacky and amateur looking.
