on beta you can extend your traderoutes into other players territory by building starbases with trade upgrades but that's not what you meant right?
sirphoenix
traderoutes only apply to your empire. it has always been this way and is not a bug at all.
in terms of credti income starbases are based on the rest of the game mechanics so far. its vasari as tec i could easily push every starbase I had to 8.5 credits/sec even on neutral worlds and the sun. giving me about 100 c/s in late game with 56% fleet upkeep, just awesome. yes the vasari ones give much less than tec, about 3 c/s when i remember correctly, but this is still more than enough to be profitable.</
I didn't even know that you can queue multiple orders of different types. queueing attack orders always works for me but i never tried this with special abilities. as for smaller ships, it's probably because they don't have enough antimatter to fulfill their orders and so they sit and wait for it.
I just had 2 random crashes in 3 games (16 hrs total playtime) with all settings on highest. Windows XP 32Bit SP3 MSI P45 Platinum 4GB DDR2-800 MHz C2D E8400 @ 3.6 GHz MSI HD3870 on the biggest game it crashed just once and kept running smooth throughout all the major battles involving 300-500 ships. much much better than the old sins! I will try the "high" setting workaround in next larger game.
@ neo130288 - pointless comment, please keep it to yourself [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e] @ Phalnax811 - it was probably less than 60 seconds, I didn't count the time. My flee
i've played 3 medium games now, 2 solo and 1 with my buddy. all 3 games were played as vasari because those moving starbases are just too damn good [e digicons][/e] some small bugs we encountered: - vasari tech "enforce labor" and "optimized construction" do not apply to starbases or their upgrades - phase stabilizer nodes on starbases don't always work, it seems random. we tested over 15 starbases o
how about you post a screenshot so we can see what you mean?
I really hope we get another beta to test this week, because the last one was unbalanced and unplayable because of the mine-spam. releasing it without another betatest would be a disaster, especially for those with non-high-end hardware.
I also think the capabilites of the AI is limited to the planets they own or the map size. I played against 4 unfair AI on a selfmade map giving each player 3 planets in the same configuration earth (home), desert and asteroid. it was a total joke, even after 2 hours of playtime the AI didn't build more than 1 or 2 capital ships and very small fleets as if it has stopped playing after colonizing the 2 planets. after deleting out 2 players and giving them the remaining
I have noticed that if you have a cap ship and some frigates that you give an order to jump, the frigates sometimes don't get the command. At first I thought it was me, but after it happened a few times, I have come to the conclusion they aren't getting the orders properly.
confirmed. happened to me a lot with a big fleet of 6 caps and about 200+ ships. I usually have every capital ship bound to a key from 1-6 with 1 cap-ship
I bought 2 keys via paypal 4 days ago and paid only 14,79 € for both. it doesn't seem right that they changed this so quick without any warning or announcment. sounds like a bug to me. what did you use as payment method?
Scouts are a great counter
if there were a cap to them, yes perhaps. please take a look at this savegame. jump_before_dump.zip i'm about to jump to a wormhole where the AI has placed no less than 2500 mines. my fleet (including 6x level 5+ capital ships) will get vapor
Mods won't work with Entrenchment until they are updated. And as usual, saved games and replays will not work with the new game.
which is also the cause for the "black screen" bug mentioned before. so if you get an unending black screen upon start where you have to reboot you pc -> delete or move your old mods ;-)
if it wasn't already mentioned here: beware if you have a mod on auto-load with your 1.12 sins install. I had "urban expansion beta 1" installed - updated to entrenchment and everytime it startet I just got a black screen and my pc just hung there with no response. nothing helped except a full pc-reset. tried several times with the same result until I deleted the mod and it worked right away ;)
maybe you got updated to 1.11 automatically and it usually cannot load savegames from older versions?
I haven't played your mod yet but there is one big mistake here concerning balance. with shields gone dvent would become too weak and vasari too powerful. since advent rely more on their ability to restore shields quickly and have more on them. vasari have great hull regeneration no other race has with their skirantra carrier which can regenerate all ships quickly. so you're making huge balance changes here, not to mention a lot of
sins and impulse crashing after 15 seconds indicates faulty hardware of some sort. or your windows installation is badly damaged.
I play as Vasari and I rarely bother with Overseers. When I do, they don't do much. Reactive nanite armour is meh and the other abilities are too expensive and you can just research the sensors tree to detect incoming enemy ships anyway.
I totally disagree. depending on the size of your fleet I put out at least 30-60 of them and make them their own fleet. then when the battle engages enemy fire usually concentrates on one of m
The Entrenchment beta will begin after that and anyone who pre-orders it will be able to start playing when it's made public.
will we be able to "pre"-order while the beta is running so we can join the fight?.... uhm i mean the testing ;-)
will the beta come next week then? how can I preorder without a credit card and why is it not possible to preorder with paypal?
wow... I already was expecting a delay but another two month ?! this must be a bad joke, especially to those who pre-ordered. I was already planning some nice weekends with my buddies to rule the galaxy. [e digicons]X([/e] please, some official word that this is not true would be nice!
I thought that too. but the 1.1 patch is stalling quite a while now because of the sync bug and I since Entrenchment includes 1.1 I doubt there will be a release before the patch is final. lets just hope that's going to be very soon ;-)
Hmmmm... somehow I doubt that Entrenchment will be released in 8 days... maybe by the end of next week but not much sooner. where do I get that info from? Experience [e digicons]B)[/e] I'd also rather have a complete (mostly) bug free release with loads of bandwidth and backup servers. The only thing that bugs me is that I can't preorder with paypal [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e]
I suspect the Vasari's enemies will be introduced - maybe as a playable faction.
I don't think implementing another race will be part of any "mini"-expansion as it would be way too much work, especially when it comes to balancing. 3 races are perfect for balancing RTS games, even blizzard knows that ;-) 1st expansion is about defenses 2nd expansion is about trade, economy and diplomacy
