Just downloaded Beta 2 off of Impulse. You be quiet with your happy face. Some of us are stuck at work.
Yes, I agree Anny, please do not tease us with how good it looks and plays, as some of us won't get to it till later tonight. (anxiously counting the minutes...330 minutes to go.
I don't really see the problem with the way it works now. If you choose to cluster mines densely in one spot, you choose to cluster mines densely in one spot. If you luck up and kill a capship, you luck up and kill a cap ship. If it doesn't work this way, I really don't see much of a use for mines except as a minor irritation, which means I won't even bother with them. However, I do like the new limit on m

IC will not do a full release until they have gotten feedback on the beta 2b update and have had time to do some balance work on that as well. It will still be some time before we see a full release.

good question and don't know if anyone rightly knows, but I would venture that as they were hitting the "dog days" of fixing the balance issues of Entrenchment, they were doing no other coding. But now that those frantic days of coding nightmares are over for another week or two (till they get the next batch of complaints and opinions of what should be done), they are probably filling their down time with thoughts and visions of micro-2 running through their heads. And who knows,

Wanted to bump this. We have 6 dedicated players now and 1 on the list who looks like a good fit. We still need 1 more player to give us a balanced 8 players for some matches that would be 2v2v2v2. We do FFA's as well. It is fun playing and a good, laid back group. We are starting a new game on this Friday (Jan. 30th...and probably a FFA) and might be using the newest update of Entrenchment (Beta 2b) if it's released by then. If anyone is inte

You'd be surprised just how complex. With that said, I play Vas to and sometimes utilize the same strat that you mentioned above. You can still have multiple smaller fleets of 15-20 ships like you mentioned. If you have each mapped to a different key lock (ie Fleet 1 to key 1, Fleet 2 to key 2, etc...) you can still create fleets with each specific group by using the manage fleet tactic. Each fleet created can then be set with varying modes (fleet cohesion (loose,&nbsp

oh yeah, the possibilities are endless if you only have 3 or 4 weapons up...there have been times when I have had 3 up at once...now I just may try and build more than that to really get the enemy rushing to get some ships back. If I send in a small Kamikaze fleet with each shot of say (1 cap, 3-4 carriers, and 5 or so Enforcers + a few smaller ships), I could really reap some major damage. Plus, add in the fact that when my fleet arives, so does a superweapon shot that effectiv

yeah, I play the Vas exclusively, and this just gives their superweapon a very decided edge as far as I am concerned...I will definitely be going up the military tech tree as quickly as possible now.

I wish they would've done something with the VAS superweapon allowing ships to jump into any planet, though...that effectively screws you out of the whole Entrenchment philosophy. Oh well, we can't get everything we want, right???

100 Replies 283,929 Views

yes, it definitely could. I also like the fact that the SB's build slower in neutral wells and even slower in enemy controlled wells. I wish they would've done something with the VAS superweapon allowing ships to jump into any planet, though...that effectively screws you out of the whole Entrenchment philosophy. Oh well, maybe they will for the final release, although not likely now.
