It is the same mechanism as whispering - whispering is to one person, vs broadcasting.... You also would need to block friend whispering in case the friend was in the game
Hack78
OK - I got in OK, so I'm sure you can...
But if they stopped them whispering, they would not be able to friend whisper while observing. That prevents them from finding out a game is starting via a friend broadcast, asking about it and deciding to stop observing and go and play... I've played a few Sins games with Whip on my team using TeamSpeak. It didn't do THAT much for us, but it didn't hurt. The main issue was we didn't communicate with the other team members as much as we were talking to each other while playing....
lol i was refering to us possibly being #2 now
I didn't want to assume that was the case ;)
and I'll not get you into the clan!!!! :D
You got to take your cuts/licks before you are part of the "in" crowd :)
I still maintain I would like to see a way for Impulse to make maps/map packs available (since the devs have stated the Sins engine cannot do it)
So who is #2 now (assuming DT is #1, and BIA may be #3)???
I'm in Australia I find playing MP on a saturday/sunday (morning esp) is good as it lines up with fri/sat night in US My partner got her krudd money today - still waiting for mine.
I have seen games where there are HEAPS of hoshikos - the players you played with probably didn't understand their true value....
Just log into ICO and get a game with whoever is on there....
well, im from Australia, i think im about 13 or 15 hours ahead of US EST... that makes it VERY hard for me to play online (funny thing, i actually bought my retail version of Sins in a Los Angeles game shop when i was there last year)
Play Saturday/Sunday during the day - that is their Friday/Saturday night... You keep speaking of this rush and stuff. I don't believe it. I play online and it is not a straight out spam fest. Sometimes it is, but things change it.
The other thing to note - in a side vs side game, quite often the flank guys are LESS safe then if they are intermixed - they have 2 or 3 guys coming for them, rather then just 1 (sometimes 2 depending on the map)
I must say, multiplayer turned out to be what I feared it to be: a race to kill other players using the same combination of units. For Advent, that is Progenitor mothership with Illuminators and Drone Hosts; for TEC, Marza and LOTS of LRMs; Vasari, colony cap ship (I don't know the names of any of the Vasari caps) and LOTS of Assailants.
If you aren't good enough to stop this combination, a player will not need to bring out something more advanced to kill you. If I can
Sure Send me a money order for $1000AUD and I'll get you in...
To be fair, some of the most interesting games I have played (5v5) were where people were intermixed, rather then people rushing from one side of the map to the other (I have a mental image of dodgeball here....). Still, it would be nice to be able to know if someone is going to be totally boned, in the middle of 4 enemy.....
So has anything been said since?
Hmm - multiple people saying it works, vs one guy who says it doesn't...
What's so bad about installing impulse? Hell, it dl'd and installed 1.16 and I didn't even know there was a 1.16 until I saw the title of this thread.
Which is why they use it - it is an auto-patch to the current version, and works by doing a delta between what you have and what you need.
Funny how I don't have an issue jumping my ships between stars.... ;)
a version of the update that is available from somewhere other than impulse would be great
Yeah - that is REALLY going to happen. Sins is DISTRIBUTED by Impulse. It is in the manual. They are not going to do stand alone patches and have only done it in the early days as Impulse was not ready...
Would you care to elaborate on that Sanic? Why you think I am a fool??? Since I probably know more about Sins then you, I would love to hear the reasoning.....
1) Make sure you have long range jumps researched 2) Move your ships to the star 3) with them selected, tell them to move to another star 4) wait while they jump It is that easy....
You pay the money (and take the assocaited tax penalty) for the ability to aquire more fleet points. It is that simple. If you don't want the econ hit, don't build such big fleets. It is one of the things you need to measure off against the other!!!
No as they are not your issue. They are a log/data dump of something else that is going wrong. How stable is your system? It could be a bug in the game you are experiencing - but maybe a RAM issue??? Vista didn't crash on me (BSOD) when I got this machine, but it kept getting errors due to a bad stick. Sins was affected, though I also had other MD reasons (i.e. bugs in the game)
