We have now played serveral games against BIA. DT has won all. Though we havent played against their very best line up (though DT hasnt played their very best line up as well. CYKUR you alive?) This is just my thoughts. Would like to go against Reborn, GreyFox, Tax, Hack, (Howler, Anfield, Avvy)
I'd be up for this, but I haven't had any real time to play with the

Contact support at starddock on this - there are some reg keys you can remove that will stop Impulse thinking that Sins is installed and allow you to reinstall it... You may still need to handle the add/remove program issue as well.....
Was the drive that crashed your windows drive, or a second drive?
Try living in Australia with slow net and usage quotas, its taken me half an hour to get 10% done. And once we hit or quota limit and get slowed down further it would take even longer. Having a hard copy of the patch on hard drive would be incredibly useful, should reinstall be necessary.
I'm in Australia - same "problem". You can do what you asked for - make an archive file in Impulse. And when the next patch comes out, you only need to download
Impulse patches you to the current version. 1.05 was the last version with a standalone patch. You would need this file and then to uninstall, install from disk (NOT IMPULSE) and patch to 1.05. But why you would EVER want to do this is beyond me...
If it is second hand - you are out of luck. The Terms and Conditions state the license is not transferable (due to the way Impulse allows you to re-download the game without a CD - just using the serial number).
Contact stardock. You will need a copy of your receipt and a picture of the cd-key as evidence I would guess.
I don't think you understand how that chat system works fully... Anyway: 1) Splitting hairs but it is Ironclad, not Stardock that would need to make the changes. Stardock just publish the game and update it via Impulse (using exe etc... provided by Ironclad). 2) I have a lot of friends in ICO - I have had to delete some stale ones as I have reached the maximum limit. So I know when my friends log in and out, and I get messages when they do a friend broascast. So I WOULD know a
The planet type does NOTHING to affect the value. The length of the chain gives a value that EVERY trade port gets (regardless of if it is in the chain or not). The reason some planets are different is either 1) they have more then one port (they stack) or 2) there is a planet modifier that increases/decreases trade income
Phase stabalisers are not used....
Also, just in case the OP missed it - Impulse allows you to take an archive of a version of the a program, so you can re-install it at that version later. Just note that the archive is OS specific unless you do certain options which I won't go into here - go learn about Impulse if you are that interested (I figure you aren't as you hate it, so I won't waste my time explaining in more detail)
It's not that they are undocumented as much as they are not made obvious in flashing lights.... I have seen ships, esp advent ones with shield restore going off die with shields still up to SC due to the phase missile upgrades - so nice to see the advent go boom...
If you see me on, you can ask. Just make sure you can beat unfair AIs before you try MP as MP is a lot harder and faster then SP (don't want to discourage you - just want to ensure you understand that people who are new to MP generally lose until they learn - which they do by reading the forums and playing MP....)
Did you uninstall the demo first? If not, that is probably your issue....
Think I found the link https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/341480 Hope it helps Hack
Yawn. This has been gone over a million times. It is in the T&Cs (manual) that Impulse is how patching is done. It allows Stardock to patch all their programs (not just Sins) using a common method. It also allows digital sales and authentication for getting patches. Build a bridge and get over it. It won't change and you are just cheating yourself by not getting Entrenchment...
There are some mesh files you need delete - can't remember what they were then (I assume you upgraded from a DVD install). If you uninstall and do a completely new install it fixes that - you are on 1.16 aren't you btw???
In vista, even if you ARE an admin, unless the User Access Control (UAC) is off, you still have to authorise the program to run, otherwise it doesn't get (for want of a better way of saying it) FULL admin.... UAC is a protection device in vista to stop programs running and installing etc... without the user knowing. I always have to authorise updates to Sins via Impulse (I also have to authorise Impulse updates too :))
I'm coming for YOU whip ;)
I would also like to see the option for even larger games :) maybe even.... 10v10??? :) (For rare, special occasions :))
It died as it merged with BIA...
Vista or XP. It needs admin rights to run, which is will ask you for in Vista, assuming you haven't turned that feature off I don't - I want to know if something wants to install on my machine!!!)
In later games, bombers are good for taking down a starbase without getting into range. Horses for courses. You need fighters and should have them early. Later on, mix in some bombers too
They have FIXED a HUGE amount of bugs that cause MP to crash (Mini-Dump). There was more then one bug that caused it, and there may be more then one still outstanding. It is impossible to prove a program is bug free, only that a bug exists... If you are having issues, send the mini-dump file to the iron clad support email address so they can look into it...
1) Make sure you are patched to the latest version (use Impulse) 2) To do INTERNET multi-player, click Ironclad Online (otherwise you will be trying to play a LAN game) 3) Create an account (you need to register) 4) Add a player to the account (you can have multiple players) 5) Select the player you wish to use and then join the ICO lobby (button is in bottom right hand corner) 6) Find a game and join it If you cannot get into ICO
