[quote who="Blair Fraser" reply="15" id="2226714"]We are both very busy working on new material. As pointed out above and in other threads, Sins 1.17 and Entrenchment 1.03 are complete (and yes, we mentionned multiple times what was going on). Stardock has been understandably busy with Demigod so they weren't released right away but should be very soon. Given the sheer number of patches we've issued over the last year and the fact that we are still putting out patches well ove

I use a duo core @ 1.66 GHz. You can get away with a lot. The more limiting factor is probably your GRAPHICS card. Mine is a 512 MB and I can run SINS on average to high settings for small-medium battles. Make sure yours is up to par.
LOL scientology. That being said, I don't think I've ever actually met a scientologist.
You guys work tremendously hard for your games and you support them past launch, which can't be said of many other studios! Don't let EA gobble you up. Great job!
The latest SINS patch is well out the door, and now Demigod has been launched and is being brought up to speed. Now, this is entirely, 110% my childish impatience and giddyness, and is not intended at all to be a shot or whine at the devs BUT... Any news on the next SINS expansion? Or a new SINS patch? Or anything, really? I check this site every day, prettymuch compulsively, to see if there are any frontpage updates. I just
I have a four year old Dell Latitude with a 512MB (Overkill) Nvidia card. Turns out those things shouldn't be in laptops. I have to manually run my internal fan on high constantly and monitor my temperature or else my laptop will overheat and everything will come to a halt. If you are going the laptop route (which is fine, it is all I play SINS on), then you NEED a chillmat. There aren't many brands to choose from, most will cost you 30-50 bucks and will all probably break (power chor
/derail On the note of Global Warming, few people actually argue whether its happening or not. The Earth IS warming up. No question about that. Now is it because of us or is it a natural part of the Earth's cycle? That's the question.
Makeshiftwings, I agree with your post entirely. Everyone should be open-minded and question everything, including their own religion. Otherwise, you are just a peon following everyone. Yeah, I've heard humanism, determinism, stuff like that before. The only thing that bothers me is that I believe there are some things that you MUST put a "right/wrong" on. Ie...cold blooded murder, genocide, etc.. Those should be totally objectively evil, even in a mostly subjective, nonreligi
Makeshiftwings, You are entirely right about the theory common misconception, and perhaps I wasn't being clear when I used the word theory. It seems whenever I try to argue my colleagues about how evolution is true, they spout the "it's just a theory!" argument, to which I promptly facepalm and try to explain that a theory is, exactly as you said, highly supported. It is misused all the time by people who are not familiar with scientific methods. Thus, I tend to use it as more of the
This is why I love looking up at the night sky, or glancing at the pictures of the Deep Field Hubble Images, and love the feeling that I am nothing in a massively expansive Universe. While at the same time my friends stand their utterly confused, looking at me like I'm a dork.
Disproving God is impossible by all scientific methods. Many scientific theories are based upon evidence, but equally important is the lack of contradicting evidence. A theory is sometimes only considered "proven" by the common-man's perspective when it has not been disproven over a significant amount of time. For example, the physics that dictates the workings of our Universe could vary by astronomical constants on a local scale, ie relativity is different across different portions o
Thanks guys! A lot of these games look interesting. I just spent a few hours trying out battleships forever, and that is a pretty sweet game! Not easy, though!
Charvel, that's it! Wow, can't believe you found it that quickly! Man, gotta download and get in on this... Thanks for the try mbaron, and plus karma to both of you! Any other games like this one out there?
Hey guys, figured I would enlist your help. Ages ago, when I was younger, I stumbled upon a game that I can no longer remember the name of. It involved 2D space combat that was turned-based, ie you would tell your ships what to do and they would do it for a few seconds before you gave them more orders. The tutorial let you start and learn how to do it with a few ships, then you scaled up to larger fleets in big combat. It kind of reminded me of something out of Ender's
When you just realized you sat in your 400 level classes and played an entire game of sins throughout your school day, and then instead of studying for a test after school, you play some more sins. Yeah...that's me...RIGHT NOW...hmh, should study....
So are the Advent just screwed against Vasari egg and phaaaase missles, considering the Mothership (Egg of the Advent fleet) focuses on Shields as well? How should the Advent player react?
Although this suggestion isn't specifically about diplomacy, I feel it fits in this micro-expansion more than any other. New planet types! Wouldn't have to be too varied and I'm sure you could get lots of help from SIN Plus by Uzi. Finding different planets and phenomena (ie Celestial Bodies Mod with black holes and quasars) makes each random map feel like you are really "exploring" an unknown segment of space. I know I got a whole lot more excited when I ran into the c
Waiting for this expansions is going to be so painful. I just recently gobbled up Entrenchment and now I can't stop playing the game! It totally rejuvenated the experience for me. I used my spawned copy for my friend, and now we plan LAN nonstop. Good to see Mr. Fraiser already talking about the new features. How long do I have to wait for more details? Pictures? Preorder?...time is going to crawl by! I know you guys are working hard on it. <
I do really like your new Capital ships. Although they are by no means perfect, I am really impressed by the creativity. I really think they prevent overlap with preexisting ships and really add to the uniqueness of each race. Can't say I'm a fan of the cruisers, however. I don't know if the game really needs more cruisers!
That might have been it but whatever it was, it was very organic, and not vasari like. Surprised the model changed so much.
Lol easily interruptable? Hahahahha. MB is definitely imbalanced, and I play TEC 100% of the time.
So my game was loading the other day and this preloading concept art of some sort of ship loaded. It was organic, with a "sphincter" labelled on its bottom end. If I had to describe it as anything, I would say it looked like the reapers off of "mass effect". Is this concept art an allusion to the Vasari arch nemesis? Or just concept art that somehow radically transitioned to TEC, Advent or Vasari ships? I really think it is distinctly different. Am I the only one who has noticed this?
So I'm guessing that changing it won't allow you to play with other players without them having the modified name list? Just wanted to save myself some time by having the game select from a database of names that I want.
I've tried to search the forum because I KNOW the answers have to be in here, but... 1.) Where and how do you modify the namelist that the game takes the randomized capuital ship names from? 2.) If you change this list to add your own names but nothing else, can you play with another player or not because you modified the files? Thanks! -FlyingNInja77
