Here is the link to a save right when I think it was beginning happening (I couldn't find the exact instance, the ships are far away from the star and are getting father but I couldn't get them to go all the way out again). My version is 1.096 If you notice around the blue star, my fleet is pretty far from the gravity well. Now, when I played the whole game through, the ships were even further out (nearly half of the distance to the next planet!).

I have seen it in the 1.1 beta, the last game I played my fleet tried to chase some enemies halfway out of the gravity well. It was pretty weird. I've seen it happen multiple times.
the oldest reference to the relationship may come from that text but not the word. The word is latin in origin and does not carry any religious meaning. Religious zealots of the this era have tried to muddy it's meaning by adding to it moral undertones but that reflects neither its origin nor intend.
Good point. But like it or not, Latin wasn't the first language created. The latin term "marriage" was derived to describe something that h

The oldest reference to marriage stems (I believe) from religion, in the Old Testament. And it is interpreted differently between different religions (as to how many times you can get married, other details, etc) Being such that we are supposed to have separation of church and state, the only thing our government should recognize is a civil union. Even between a man and a woman. Different religions can call it what they want. The government only r

THIS GAME IS AWESOME! And to those people who said it isn't scary, I'll have to disagree with you. Playing this game at night, by yourself, with all of the lights off and the sound up loud...holy shit, it's a scary experience! Wonderful game, I was really surprised that EA spit it out.

Here is my idea: Mitigation should be a function of how many ships you have in the gravity well. Let's say its (#ofshipsfiringatyourship)(#ofshipsyouown)/(someconstant). That way if you have a single capital, it won't be mitigated so your enemy can kill it. But if you have multiple ships, they have to kill some of them through general fleet vs fleet fire before it becomes effective to single out the capital ship. Jus

Speaking of endwar, I did download the demo, and there are TECHNICALLY planes...airstrikes! I was pretty impressed with it, although I have a feeling the game might get stale with it's low unit count. There aren't many games that effectively blend all three of those. Actually, I can't really think of ANY. Maybe Red Alert? And by Red Alert I'm talking about the first one, for DOS (although you can download it for FREE at the Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 website for windows and vista

World in Conflict is pretty awesome, although my computer didn't handle the graphic requirements too well. (Psst, sinofficer, it isn't based off of Red Storm Rising, but if you haven't red that book, it's badass). Another good one is Company of Heroes. It is more squad based (made by the makers of Dawn of War, another awesome but not quite "modern" game). You can download a demo (I think) for both of those, so give it a shot! I love them both and they both play

I'm contemplating downloading the beta (although I'd rather wait it out until 1.1), but I am very interested in hearing about the new explosives engine. For those of you who have played the new beta, any comments on it? How does it look? How is it different? I'm excited for this patch! Thanks a lot, developers! You guys are awesome.

Sounds like someone is unappreciative. And rude. Even if you are convinced the things you say are true, realize that at least this isn't an EA game with zero support and zero meaningful patches. Insulting the developers isn't going to help a thing and will make you look like a jerk. I suggest more positive criticism.

Heh, hi again! I believe allegiance also gives you a passive shield regeneration boost when your forces are stationed at that planet. I actually didn't know that the bonus was different for each race, however... Also, if your allegiance is not at 100%, your planet will not produce taxes to its fullest extent, leading to a slow dropoff in profit as your planets get further from your capital. Plus your culture prevents the enemy's culture lines from spreading to your pla

This will be, by design, released within 6 months of SC2 and SOASE Expansion. GG the rest of my life.

But what did I know about anything then
Yeah, I was all gungho...even excited...about it. But then I realized things. Chill, it's in the off-topic section. And WTH darkside? Was that necessary? Just because you oppose the Iraq war doesn't mean you are a "liberal moron". I was for the Iraq War when it began, but as things unfolded I lost my enthusiasm. It was hard for anyone to foresee the consequences of modern day guerrilla warfare

As much as I'd love to say get out of there (which I really wish would happen), everyone knows that the second we leave, at this stage, Iraq will turn into clusterfuck. And everyone will blame...who else? (we deserve it)...us. And then it will become a breeding ground for terrorism, etc, and we will have to go back in again. It's a nasty Catch-22.

Wow, Venym, if it bothers you that much, then just don't update your game if you think you are getting "scammed". I'm not losing any money or getting any spyware by downloading impulse. Try it and maybe you will be surprised. And
For gods sake stop boring the rest of us with the tin foil hat ranting.
Make a separate thread for this complaining, that way I can ignore it instead of having to sift through it while reading about this awesome patch.

If you want to take a quick break and read up on the buttons while in-game, PRESS THE PAUSE BUTTON ON YOUR KEYBOARD! Yes, it will pause your game! I didn't know this for forever, but thank god I finally did! You CAN queue up ships and build stuff, but it won't show up in any visible manner so it is hard to tell what you just did. I usually use it to read up on techs, make decisions, and see how my forces are doing. It really helps if you just want the game to

Just do a 1v1 on point blank vs nearly any difficulty AI. Build a Marza and send it, you will find that you will tear apart the enemy. Scuttle your frig factory and just spend money to level up your Marza. Take out their frig factory first and then its game from there.

I find them a cheap filler for my fleet when I need to quickly increase the size of my armada to match an enemy attack. They aren't TERRIBLE, but do have their downsides. I'd rather have the LRM's firing at my LF's than anything else.

No problem, I'm glad to help! Yeah Heritor, I agree that Vasari capital ships have very specific niches...they also seem to just rub me the wrong way. When I bring in a level 6 Kol or Radiance into a battle, I feel much more empowered and confident than when I use any of the Vasari ships. They do have their uses but just don't seem to have the impact factor that the other races do. I love "TDN Bahamut", my first Kol, to death :P

TEC If I had to pick a race for a player to start with, I'd pick this one. They are pretty well-rounded. Advantages: -Great economy because of trade ports and trade port upgrades -Good early-game ships -Novalith cannon is one of the better superweapons in the game -The Kol stands as one of the better capital ships and is a good flagship Disadvantages: -Late game, their ships have a hard time fighting the Advent and Vasari -Their fighters and bombers

Congrats! Man, when I first got this game I was scared and kept playing on easy. The AI can be surprisingly challenging sometimes, especially when you haven't been paying attention a bit and then BAM...supermassive fleet at your doorstep!
