This is a new space RTS that should be released in May (I think) and it has features such as designable ships and orbiting planets. Has anyone heard anything about it or have any thoughts? http://www.shatteredsuns.com/

You have to research interstellar travel. All you have to do after that is move your scout to the nearest star and then jump there. If you haven't scouted out the nearest star, then your ship sometimes won't jump to another star until you have manually scouted the nearby one.

Wow, kudos for working on this. Making maps based on stuff is rough. I made a [link="https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/308906"]solar system and surrounding stars[/link] map and it took me for friggin' ever to work with the coordinates and scale them so jump time wasn't unbearable. How long do you think this is going to take to make?
Biblical literalists will believe what they want. Evolutionary believers will believe what they want. One side might be right, but do you honestly think anyone is going to change their stance based on a INTERNET FORUM? I'd give up if I were you.
I usually start by rushing another AI in my system and then slowing pushing the third one out. Once I secure one star system I create one fleet for pillaging other systems and one to hold my star choke point. It isn't as important that you take everyone enemy planet in every system but that you systematically destroy their infrastructure. After you have destroyed many key planets you can come back and colonize.
I've been playing this battlewagon package and I would just like to say that it is a great mod that doesn't introduce incredibly drastic changes to the game. It is a FUNCTIONING package of several great mods PLUS capships get a boost (which I love!). I think the thing I love most is that it doesn't diverge too much from the original SOASE but rather enhances it. Great job, Kreyson, this package is awesome!
If you press F8 as soon as you see that you have been outbid, then you will put money on your highest-bid opponent. This is helpful so you don't have to leave battle.
What theleif said is right on the mark. Evolution only causes problems for people who are Biblical literalists but otherwise doesn't even cause a problem with God. And there is SOOOO much evidence for evolution its ridiculous; it's not baseless and doesn't have massive holes. There are things we can't explain when it comes to GR but it is still a prettymuch 100% accepted theory. Remember the difference between the conversation word "theory" and a scientific "theory"... Plus, in
Wow if you get that Yamato into the game that would be AWESOME!
If God set everything in motion, then stayed "hands off," is there any practical difference than if God didn't exist?
Well, all of it had to come from something. And if I was omnipotent, I would just create it so that it worked the way I wanted it to from the beginning. That doesn't quite mean he is just sitting their twiddling his fingers though because God is outside of space and time since he created it all. So however that abstract concept works...
Who said God had to make creatures as they were? Who said that billions of years ago, when the Universe was created via the Big Bang, that he set it all in motion with its precise outcome? Why must we undercut him to some "snap your fingers and here is an animal" method? Meh. I'm catholic and I believe 100% in evolution. So does the catholic church...it's theistic evolution which basically says that evolution is entirely true but somewhere in the beginning of the Universe there had to b
**Have nonrandom mating***, sorry fixed
In order for evolution to NOT be true, you must have a population that does not undergo evolution. The population must NOT: -Have crossing over during meiosis -Have genetic mutations (no mismatches, frameshifts, etc) -Have genetic variance -Have random mating -Have environmental pressures There exists no such population in the entire world. Therefore, evolution must occur. Seriously, if anyone understands the mechanics of evolution then they must know this t
You must admit though that this whole intelligent design garbage is an almost uniquely American phenomenon.I admit that it's irrelevant. Obviously I don't think it's garbage - I'm just saying it's not scientific. If ID only teaches that there is a guiding force, then every Christian, Jew, Muslim etc. believes in ID, theologically. I think we agree ID shouldn't be taught in science class, but I don't think it's garbage.Does that include discrimination of the abominable homosexuals? It's not
Unfortunately Science teachers often forget that Evolution is only a theory and teach it as fact.
A scientific theory is pretty much as good as what most people term "law". The word "theory", when used in the scientific community, describes something that is believed to be 99%+ true (ie the THEORY of relativity, the THEORY of quantum mechanics). The media and most people who aren't scientists tend to take the word theory and run with it and its modern, everyday meaning.
Who said God didn't snap his fingers and the Universe came forth and it all just happened? Why does he have to directly intervene if he created it all from the start? I always think people undercut God's omnipotence when they say that evolution is false. Who is to say that he didn't put forth the proper laws of physics, matter, etc when the Universe was first created that would eventually result in the creation of life through evolution? Of course if you are a Biblical literal
Wow, that is a ton of topics for any person to cover. How about politics for the TEC? I think the TEC is a very loose union, like the UN with slightly more power. The trade worlds are individually governed but can be regulated and directly legislated by the upper bodies of government. Idk, so much to think about.
Wow, nice skin! Yeah, the Sins planet selection really limits how you can mimic the solar system. I wish that they would have skins selectable in Galaxy Forge for each planet type.
I forgot the install instructions: Simply place it in C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Galaxy and viola! Playable map. It should be listed under the "Large" map section.
Sins of a Solar Empire takes place in a galaxy far away...but haven't you ever wanted to battle it out in a place that is a bit more familiar? Presenting: Solar Sector, a map that is centered around the Solar System and its major neighboring stars. Good maps, no one really acknowledged them in the forums but credit to you for taking the time to make a few. It might be easier if you back them all too and perhaps add screenshots. Off to play them :)
