When Beta is over and the game is declared pretty much ready, I will complain if the sb aren't beefed up a little bit. As the yor with my home world I can pump out by turn 60 one constructor module per turn. If starbases are as powerful as you are wanting I could practically surround my planets with them in no time. What you are saying might be fine for one star bases, but it would only take me 6 turns or so to max out a defensive starbase with current mechanics. If starbases increase exponentially in power, then the cost will need to go up much higher then it currently is. Cause as is

This is what I have running in the corner of my 2nd monitor. At any time it tells me cpu usage, what cores are doing usage wise, how much rame is used in both numbers and %, and what % of a page file is being used. (My machine doesnt have a page file, its recommended to disable this usually when running higher amounts of ram) http://addgadgets.com/all_cpu_meter/
I am thinking (well as always when I say that caution is in order) that a huge page file should be sufficient to handle a big game. If 8 gb is enough a dozen AIs then a 64 gb page file would allow about a 100. I don't think 100 is out of reach at all, unless I am all wet, of course. Rather the issue will be that the alien turns will take a while. And perhaps gett

I've never used gskill I buy Coursair but heres 8gb of ddr3 (2 4gig sticks) for $65.00 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231689 This also has the benefit of letting you add 2 more later on down the road should you want to go to 16gb. Thats assuming your Motherboard supports ddr3 though, I dont remember the specs of the Mboard for the core duos

eh thats a dirt old processor. Still for this type of game I would think it should be suitable. Ram is probably the bigger issue. I advise running 8 gigs minimum if you can manage it. I run Win 7 64 bit. And at idle right now according to one of my usage tools I am sitting at 2.875gb used, and 13.07gb free. I then loaded up a 201 turn in prograss game as the yor with a huge galaxy, all the current civs in, and all other settings at normal. Once the game loaded before I even did anything I loo

What do you mean with the Factory upgrade path fixed? There is no patch that I am aware of, and I couldn't spot the problem when I went digging in the xml files. (not my strong suit though I am a hardware guy not a programmer)

No starbases are valuable targets of opportunity. I feel they should easily be destroyed by anything bigger then a small hulled ship equipped with starter weapons. This forces you to have to decide if you want to allocate ships to defend them or not. I in no way shape or form want to see starbases of the power of say the ones in Sins of a Solar Empire for instance.

I would blame the eco bug more then anything. You combine the slow start they get, with not being able to upgrade past a 20% production bonus per manufacturing collective and things get rough to keep up economically.

I would but if I lost I would have to resort to ddosing you to the stone age. :( (that and my favorite race the Yor are borked until the production upgrade bug is fixed, yet I still soldier on with them regardless of massive economic disparity)

Not to be mean, but what exactly are you trying to play on? Core i5s are dirt cheap now days. Unless someone is destitute I have a hard time feeling sorry for anyone not running an i5 and at least 8gb of ram. I consider my machine a midrange computer as its a core i5-3570k, 16gb ram and a xfx Radeon 6970 (admittedly this video card did cost me $400.00 the year they came out)
Diplomacy: Needs more factors, to make games more unpredictable.
Don't forget you can make your own, so that you can have 100 faction games. Also minor races arent in yet either. They just like city states in civ 5 add another layer to the game.

Are you referring to things like right after Manufacturing Collective you get 3 research choices. One for +10% production, One for +10% research, and another one that reduces costs by 10% (I think). If I'm following your train of logic and am right about what you are referring to then you research one of these 3 and the next tech in the tree opens up. However the 2 you did not research remain there. From your phrasing it sounds like you think you can no research the other two with
It's been awhile since i've played apologies if this is already in Some races should generate unrest when flipped, remember not everyone is human in this game, so human logic does not need to apply so readily, and saying that not everyone that is human is in the majority view of the planet, in fact most have their own opinion when it comes to other countries, places or locations, let alone entire races.
