Dear Frogboy and Devs, Short list of pro's and con's I have with the release client so far. I am sure this isn't the only thread on it, but I'm feeling too lazy to add mine to an existing thread. :D Pros first +Ship builder is as always awesome +Love the custom races options available to us +Map sizes so much more awesome then GC2. +Specializations on the tech tree are nice. Sadly thats all I have so far, r
the big question is when will this show boating of the patch end and actually become a released patch...this week? next week? next month?? perhaps i made a mistake of getting Gal civ 3.. if they are going to show boat EVERY single patch, expansion, dlc for days or weeks at a time... absolutely rid
Ignore me, forums is showing all your posts in general chat.
Indeed custom factions tend to not have issues with logistics, I ran a test case, I cloned the Drengin, and when they came up against each other, base AI and custom AI, the custom one destroyed the base one purely because it was using logistics. Even though neither was any different, they were completely the same.
So this would imply that a work around, would be to clone all the races for now and use them instead
Does it fix my inability to stop playing? Also first.
Good stuff froggy!
First, we're going off of one person's word (Tooonz) that Paul said this. He could just be trolling us [e digicons]:)[/e] Second, assuming Paul actually did say this, I hope Paul's right, but I'm not holding my breath. I know someday it will be fixed so I'm not going to get upset. I just want the devs to know that I will not be helping them with feedback until they fix it, so hopefully they get the clue that th
WHEN? Thats what I want to know! :D I will be live streaming this one on my Twitch channel I believe. I had been waiting for more races to be in before we started showcasing it to my viewers (i'm a small channel so maybe I shouldn't be so picky lol)

Might want to start your own thread curiouslarry. As you didnt bother to notice that the original one you are responding to is from october and from beta 2. YOU ARE IN BETA 4.... in other news, look before you post maybe. Also why is this in general and not support? Oh well.
It wasn't done for realism though. Early in founders development it was mentioned it was done specifically for balance. Now you can shut down and siege an enemy if they don't protect that shipyard. (nothing preventing them from having multiple shipyards out there anyways)
So far, Malicious seems op for the Yor, double military production on my home world? The world that I specialize as all manufacturing already to begin with? Yes please!
I was thinking of going up to 16 gigs myself from 8. Ram goes through phases of being cheap or expensive relative to supply and demand, I was wondering if people think it cheap or expensive at the minute relatively? For slower computers, as I found out in my modding experiments, one thing you can manually do is reduce the resolution of all event pictures, I am not sure if you can do this for icons etc but it might help.
What kinda name is Forster? ;p
@OP sorry bub, I have to disagree with you for the most part. Now more exciting techs of course is always welcome, but so far the trees are much improved over galciv 2.
Should probably just follow the same mechanic as civilization I would think. The units retreat back to the next closest edge of the civilization that owned them. Not sure what I think on starbases yet though.
Where do you check for your stars?
Theres also an xml file in your game that you can modify, add to, or remove names that you don't want in your game. I forget where its at though, can't go looking right now.
Until then, I reckon a massive space station with room for a massive array of weapons will make short work out of any fast moving tiny ships already pinpointed 3+ turns away.
Have you put in any thought to how much space a hex might represent? There is no way in hell that a starbase could hit probably any target at 3 hexes away. (of course 3 hexes might be a little closer, I dont know how many AU the center of one hex
Not too likely for the base game. Maybe something they can add later on down the road though as things get fleshed out more.
Quoting Gilmoy, reply 37 Pointing out imbalances is one of the roles of a Beta, but not the only one, and its priority changes as the dev team passes major milestones. Right now, it's surely low(er)-priority, for the same reason you
So submissions have closed to name a star. I have not submitted mine so does that mean I've lost the right forever?
Did you buy the $100.00 edition? If so then thats the one that gave you the ability to name a star. I don't know if they closed it, I had heard when the $100.00 was no longer sold it would be too late. But you might be able to get with stardock and see if they can do anything.
Playing yor like a non-synthetic race will cripple you (if you are lucky!). Playing a non-synthetic race like a synthetic will do the same. The potential dark horse from nowhereffect makes this strategy a very interesting aternaticw to some of the functioing yor ones already discussed elsewhere
Pretty much. I would never go all in for starbases to begin with. My p
