No you cant backgrade simmyaz. It requires a complete fresh reinstall and update to 1.05. Which if you decide you are going to do that just do what I did. Install a second copy of sins in a different folder so that you can run 1.05 when you want and 1.09 when you want. The game doesn't take up much space so no biggie.
The games back plot says all 3 are enemies, so thats how I play it. Within a race, they are freindly to each other, not possible enemies. So if I have 3 vasari, then they are a single team. They will fight me (TEC) and the Advent team. Makes life a bit more simple.
In other words apricot stacks the game slightly in his favor before starting it.

You could stop playing against easy or normal AI then. Jump up to unfair they are sometimes willing to stay and fight battles that normal would have ran from.

poetic thats teh beta, I am afraid you will find only a fraction of the players using it. Its a shame too I like it better then 1.05. In fact I like it so much more then 1.05 that I am just playing singleplayer for now with the beta lol.

Flak is not completly worthless, but its only good against fighters now. So a few flak are still good at protecting your LRF's. Regardless I now consider the best strategy in 1.09 against the cpu is to go for your own carriers early. Maybe not enmasse, but at least 10-12 tec, vasari carriers, or 8 advent carriers. From there you can decide where to go next. Of course this is all while also having a decent number of LRF's. If you ask me 1.09 is all about the carr

Your light frigs arent gonna do jack to carriers with guardian support you wont be able to stay close enough to fight them. All while illuminators might have decided to tear your light frigs to hell and back. Caps wont last more then 60 seconds when hit with a swarm of fighters/bombers. Since you want to talk about it in a mp context by saying they are microing better. Which by the way if you consider me giving them 7-8 shift click move orders microing my carriers mmmmkay. So while your busy

obviously if you are conducting such a raid you can expect a fleet to show up, which lets you drop a real fleet somewhere else. I didn't expect to have to explain basic diversionary tactics. That is what I get for assuming most humans would already take such things into consideration. Then again I shouldn't be surprised, now should I? Note to self, start addressing forum goers the same way I would kindergartners.

The strike craft thing really is only a minor problem, by properly preparing for carriers early now instead of ignoring them like in 1.05 you can defend from it. They are very strong yes, but I predict that the carriers themselves hp and shield or speed will be brought down a notch or two making them more balanced. If not then not its ironclads world, we just play in it and will be forced to adapt. Trust me I did my fair share of complaining about the strike craft, but the more I play

I highly doubt it, but if you wish to claim that one of the most prevailant bugs in the game is not present in yours good for you. You do know the only way you see it happening is if a ship autojoins your fleet that is in the gravwell that the ship was made in, and already has a move order issued to the fleet to a different system, and that the new ship adopts this move order? Those are the exact things that have to happen for the bug to replicate itself. Give the ship a move order aft

An enemy fleet isnt gonna stop a raid of 20 lrf before they take out their designated targets. Then again if an enemy fleet is there my 20 illuminators might go on cap killing duty instead.
At the point where your empire nudges up against someone elses, you need more culture centers.I've had 3 on a planet and still almost lost it, because the next planet along had 5. When I added 3 more, the situation reversed, but I was down to 3% before the situation reversed.I've had 8 on a planet, using all its civilian slots, and it kept the next planets along from being colonised. But thats rare to be able to build that many. The other thing you can do is put more culture centers on ad
I've never had that happen...
Yes you have its the autojoin fleet behavior bug where it trys to jump back to the factory it was made at and just sits their waiting for the rest of fleet to join it for a jump back. from 1.09 patch notes: -Fixed bug where ships that autojoined formations would have their preorder move point overwritten by the rally point code. This meant that the last ship joined would always try to go back to factory, instead of in-formation with t

yep that would have been 71 players playing in games then. Guess I am getting used to the much lower numbers of beta players lol. Regardless since games take soo long it can be a long time before they get outta their games.

Seems I am a victim of the missing edit button. So I will just double post, its 2am now for me (central time) and in the 1.09 beta I got 14 players online. Now this isn't 1.05 and I deleted my second install of sins with 1.05 this morning since I like the beta version we're testing better. So I can't check to see who is on there right now.

Its 1:20am when you post this with a game that takes 1-4 hours usually to play one game. Yeah thats pretty normal most players called it a night awhile ago. You will also find that the numbers very low compared to regular RTS games since this one takes hours to do a game opposed to 15-20 minutes per game.

Little excerpt from your manual for you here (I advise you take the time to read it some parts are very vague like allegiance but it provides a useful foundation)- "Broadcast Center – Your empire can spread its culture to nearby worlds through the broadcast center, as can be seen through phase lanes taking on an empire‘s color. The stronger your culture, the faster it will spread and push back enemy culture. As each planet comes under more of your influence, its allegiance t
