IN one of the above post the question is asked, "did he give any indication of what he meant their way?" The devs do not like the way RTS's implement campaigns... specifically a campaign that spends most of the time being a tutorial..which if I understand your post wilebill you liked that about starcraft. Unfortunatly, many people do not.. including the devs for Sins..... and in truth, I agree. I too want a campaigne.. but Id prefer they make the campaigne e

oooooooo a Mod Updater..:)..(somthing the devs shoulda thought of to be sure) I would sincerly love to have a mod updater....Considering I only play 3 different mods.. and Mad Scientist is top of that list... hence I have not played Sins of a Solar Empire since they patched to 1.03/ Entrenchment. Bummer, ........ Love to know if/when you could make a mod updater available:) Valkajin

First Pc was a 386 that had 4 mb of ram..even had one of those ancient "B" drives. Still have that old computer infact. I later upgraded it with a Evergreen upgrade kit for the processor and moved it from a 386 to a 486 really, really low end pentium 1. It was so low end it would run Age of Empires 1 but only at bout half normal speed....Took a really long time to walk your workers even a few inches but I was in heaven. First game I bought and truly loved.......the

I am still just trying to comprehend why anyone would play vanilla sins in the first place.......it does not hold a candle to the combined nilla/entrench Sins and ..C'mon, it's 10 bucks to entrench.......few post back I read many people are buying crap games for 60 bucks or more like Spore, that gets played and then put away ...permanently. And, why would anyone want to play "nilla vs entrench"...... how could that possibly be fair. Matters not t

Agree with the OP! It is interesting to know that you have to have a fishing license, hunting license, drivers license, to legally do those things...YET.. one does not have to have a license to be a parent. Considering when I was a kid Dungeons and Dragons was the "end-all-be-all" corruptor of children, SURPRISE....I've led a wonderful, happy life. One simple reason! Good parents. I agree with the above posters that site the responsibility of

I'd love to see the addition of a campaign but I also agree it should implemented without the non-sense of a tutorial that takes you half way through. However, the devs know this and I believe could instead create a much more desirable campaign/editor than most games deliver. The editor does not have to be overly complicated. If it only allowed players to link maps together under a campaign folder, AND require differring victory conditions to progress to the next map in the

Hmm, for 10.00$ huh. Well, for ten bucks I love the main two additions of Entrenchment......Starbases and mines. I know there was much more added than that, but those two additions are why I felt it was worth the money. So what would I like to see for another 10 spot? 1) additional VICTORY CONDITIONS: cultural/alliance/ascension, whatever. 2) campaigne editor: by campaigne, I mean you could link 2-3 or more maps together that have certain victory conditions tha

Yeah, a campaign editor.... but it could be as a simple as ...Map one victory conditions: defeat 2 normal opponents on 18 planet map.... upon victory,,,,,you open up next map.....perhaps, maybe when you choose the campaign it could be different color type or something to differentiate between single maps and campaign that have series of maps with victory conditions.... they could be in the list of maps to play but upon choosing you would see how ever many maps are in that

I have looked to see the extent of info that has been released regarding the 2nd expansion and do look forward to more diplomacy options. But, I wonder if there will be victory conditions added that may possibly add the ability to use a campaigne folder for example to set up mini-campaignes. i.e. make three maps, first one with a victory condition that allows you to continue on to next map upon completion, to achieve that victory condition and so on until you fail

I agree with your assessment as well Dolynick. Yes, patchs cost money. But the devs have already made them. Now I am sure you have all heard of a little game called Never Winter Nights 2? Well you can patch that game with their patcher ORRRRRRRrrr you can simply download the patches manually.....I have found many, many in the long list of patches available for manual download. This is not the samekind of game to be sure, however, as I have stated

Your definatly not alone in feeling nostalgic about the good ole days of gameing. I'm with ya there. I read your above post and I thought, wow, I know exactly how you feel! I'm a few years older, 38. And your post made me remember the first video game my brother and I got when we were kids. I do not remember the name of the console, but I can describe it. It was in the shape of a triangle. The games were cartridge-like but small and triangle shaped, 4

This is the first I have read of being able to archive the version of the game I was playing. It would have been most helpfull.... since all the mods I play now, crash and worse still for me,,, those modders have continued their work on the mods and made changes to the mods. Some changes I like, others not so much. But that is why this information would be helpful if it were as previously mentioned in a FAQ. I can not expect a modder to go back an make a old versi

Heya Ordian, Just played a couple maps last night. And unfortunatly, for the first time since I have installed your mod the game is mini dumping. Only 20 planets, 4 ai, and 2 human players. 2 hours in.....dump everytime. This is why I was so bummed out when I saw that impulse forces us to download the update or not be able to play using ico. Because, that vers

Heya Dolynick, Thought I'd update ya on what I thought bout playing your mod with added planets. AWESOM. Got to play it for bout 15 minutes today. Long enough to see it work and look forward to it when I got home to play. LOL, well it was a short lived excitement. Impulse updated to day and the game to 1.02 and the mod no longer works. But for the r

Direct IP? I am not aware of how to do that with Sins. Have only seen that Hamachi and Ico allow online play but would love to know more to avoid them and updateing when I'd rather play a game and not be "forced" by the update to wait for the mods to be updated. However, the problem is now, that Impulse has forced the issue, we updated and I am guessing would have to uninstall and somehow only install 1.01. Good grief, how could the devs over look something

Hey everyone, I know i have read this before somewhere but wondered if it was the same case with the manifest system. Since I have tried both my favorite mods and neither work any longer(1.01), in fact both lock my computers up with (1.02). Entrenchment being updated is cool obviously, I just wish I could use the version that WORKED before the update so my mods will not lock up my computer when I want to sit down to play. Particularly if there is a high likelyhood of a lock up.&nb

Well this is a real bummer if it is a difficult fix for sure. Just tried to use SG races mod......me and my brother and both times locked the computer up...had to turn power off and reboot. Going to try other mods and see if all are screwed, but that brings me to a question; we logged on to play a game, and could not because a message poped up and said we need to update. Why? I do not think it is unreasonable to let people play the version they ar

I understand what ya mean. It will be really interesting when the time comes that many mods can be played as you have described. I realize that mods are a time taking process and that I have only been playing mods for Sins mainly since Entrenchment was in beta. But from what I have seen so far, I am impressed. And as more mods become compatible with others there will be an ever growing variety of combinations with which to choose. So me and my Sins gam

Just had some time to check the forums, catching up on my two favorite mod topics. :) Awesome! I can not wait to try out both of the updates! I saw that you guys have corresponded and that is exciting news for me and my brother. We both love these mods and have always hoped for Sins to include more races, more research, and more Planets. With Dolynick's latest we get Sins plus added to the races....YES! And with Mad scientist even more strike craft......freakin

Update: OK Ordian, Me and my brother have been playing your mod quite a bit the last two weeks(not this last updated one with extra SC yet) And I realized that I was forgetting something that would allow me to use your mod on maps I make with Forge. I asked before if I could just use the galaxydef file for the forge or was I doing something wrong because I had tried with no success. I am bonehead,(musta had one too many shots of tequilla that night me thin

It goes in the Entrenchment/galaxy folder. Then open the galaxy.manifest with notepad and add 1 to filecount # and at bottom of list of the maps you see there, add... fileName "yourmapname" making sure to spell exactly the name of your map , then save and it should show up in game. This works for mods too ...same process cept you do the notepad part in the mod itself. Valkajin

Hmm, well I believe that all you need to do is make a new folder named Stargate races (or what ever you want) and place that folder in the Entrenchment 1.01 mod folder where those files you just mentioned are....Game info, mesh, particle etc. Next Place those files into the folder you have created. thats all it should take. It sounds like you just dont have the folder "itself". I have done this for a couple mods that simply lacked the folder, so that in gam
