:) I hadn't figured that out when i posted Mooster, :) I started with wanting to get ships to a certain level and carrying those leveled ships into another map. Instead of starting from zero with every new game or new map. From there i think i got caught up in something else, haha, that happens to me, ideas sometimes flying so fast i can't figure out which one to try first. :) Anyway, haven't thought about this idea in a while, an

Star Trek Online Starcraft 2 Diablo 3 if this year, if next might be too late for me to get much gaming in, finishing college and paying bills, that sorta thing. Sins 2 would love to see it, but Devs aren't saying anything, so dont know if they want to do something else first, but would be nice to hear something. oh, haha, should have been at the top of the list but Guild Wars 2. :) And looking for some other cool space games, Jump Gate Evolution

:) Find Newbeorg's resize tool, its on the forum or google it, its called something like Little Helper, :) and copy some of the meshes in the mesh folder for your favorite version, Entrenchment still has capitals i think, i dont think Diplomacy does, but the one's in the vanilla folder (the base game mesh folder does). I say copy them because you dont want to mess up your original installation of the game. Then find Dekhranic's text converter, take your meshes and convert

i'm not a coder, so i can't say, but it seems not all of this has to be ai code, why can't they simply have scripts in the game.constants or whatever file add starbases with xx abilities turned on and have a placement value that puts sb's next to repair bays and defense platforms? (i edited this a bit, because i know you or me can sit down right now and make two versions of an ability. Why do that? Because what if we want the bad guys, you know the pirates or the militia or even reall

Just some thoughts... Culture wins could be advanced by halving the tactical slot cost of culture centers, in effect allowing for twice as many centers, even if left at the same strength, the culture over run would start to drain the alligence of the surrounding planets. If the culture ability were strengthened or modified somehow, this could do several things in addition to simply capitulating the planet. Such as take over current resources or available ships/structures, etc.

go into the Vanilla Sins folder... (c:\program files\stardock games\sins of a solar empire\ ...) (it is probably 1.181 if you have the latest version i think) ... to the gameinfo folder and find the gameplay.constants file, copy it. Now go to your MS mod and in the gameinfo folder paste the copy there. Adjust the line that Goafan77 mentioned, (you can do this usually with Notepad) then save and close the file. Close the mod and fire up Sins and load the mod and see if you have it.

say 1.02 or 1.03 Entrenchment, or 1.12 to 1.17 Vanilla Sins? I have copies of mods of course that i cant play in the new versions, I tried Harpo's mod tool, which i haven't quite got the hang of yet, so i'm not getting it, and also im getting a mesh error, saying the weapons firepiont is incorrect, but it worked fine under 1.03 so im not quite sure what to make of that. Anyway, If not, i guess i will just have to go on without them, or in the case of some

I dont understand the password thing you are asking about, and as for impulse downloads, that of course is done through the impulse program that is downloaded from stardock. I think you may be asking the wrong person, im just a file tweaking modder, well, haha, and resizing tweaking modder. :) But im not with Stardock, just a player like you, and as for passwords? I have no idea what program you are referring to, i use impulse regularly, it doesnt ask for a password, a

:) Manshooter would need to get paid for the work he put into the Dynamic system mod, but i think they will leave it this way, as a mod, they dont have to support it. :( I think that is one reason why they made the game "moddable" anyway, they wanted the player base to run with the game. The difficulty lies in only having the ability to mod just so far. Alot of the modders want to do things we cant do with just the tools we have now. Campaigns, going from map to map with

:) I like this start with cease fire option idea very much. I agree, i think it would add a lot to the game, and make it feel different in the playing, which after so many sandboxed games is something i think is a very good thing. I still hope, though at this late date perhaps unrealistically, that a campaign editor, and continuable games from one map to another would make this game "Untouchable". Still, the prospects of the devs doing this at this late date seem very unlikely.<

It would be nice to designate a flagship ability and give it to the "first" capital created. Well, there is nothing in place for that. There used to be a mod that had Flagship versions of the Capitals, enhanced versions, but since there are only 9 slots it meant shorting one of them. -Teal

Very good ideas, I would add to your list that it would be helpful to be able to acheve pacts and relationships with the other races as well, perhaps on a percentage basis, say advent to advent i need 30% to offer missions, 40% standing for a ceasefire, 50% for a peace treaty, 60% for the various share resources and 70% for shared ship and planet vision. For the other races, if this could be changed to 40% for missions, 50% for ceasefire, 60% for peace treaty, 70% for the share resour

Espionage had a lot of potential, and yes, there already were some abilities that were scattered to other tech trees that i have seen moved to the manipulation tree under the vasari, though i haven't see there like yet in the tech, or the advent. It is almost like the Devs struck out in one direction, only to stop and change course. While i can see that this sometimes might happen at the planning stage, how it got this far and then pulled is beyond me. I think the espionage options sh

Personally I think building early was a plus, and it made the game feel entirely different than it has felt, which in my book was a plus, it meant that Sins could be played several different ways, and it made it more interesting. But I agree that it should have been left in, or put back in since it is now removed. -Teal

just checked Impulse, it looks like there was the initial .085 then a .085.006 listed as beta 1 and .090 which is listed as beta two. Which means exactly what you said, there really have been three versions, if we count the first version. Anyway, i still miss embassies. :( I really thought we had something there. The excerpt on Impulse says that treaties will be hard to get (so far for me very hard to get) but that they grant very nice bonuses. I'
I havent, and Ive been looking damn hard. It does say it doesnt have all the features available yet. In Beta 2 for instance you had the research speed boost pact but not in beta 3. Maybe the demand gifts thing will turn up in Beta 4 or the final release
There are only two beta's out so far, unless i missed something, when did beta three get released? -Teal

Good thought, but i need to get a peace treaty, (i think) in order to get any of that, and so far, i havent been able to get a game where i could get a treaty, which makes me believe, i could be wrong, that if they are possible, of course they have to be sometimes, that those treaties are something that come mid to late game, not early game. Anyway, without the treaty, no pacts. To a very large extent, im still getting the same response out of the ai that i got before Diplomac

Does anyone know how to achieve a peace treaty? I noticed there are a lot of pacts, research and resources, culture... the problem i am having after playing about three games with the new beta, is that i have yet to get a peace treaty, they either declare war on me, or i wind up defeating the other opponent and once that happens the other side sits at the same relationship level, but no way to get a treaty. Thus no way to get those interesting pacts. :( I was

Not to drag the point on and on, but the first implementation was very very cool, you could start out as a diplomatic player, fortify your home planet and gradually build out, without worrying that the other ai had too many already. You could start relations right off the bat, it was wonderful!! Someone said they didnt want relations to be forced, but until now we never could, ai were always saying no, at least most of the time. If the Devs could give us a choice, either start w
