Sorry to sound terrible, i started playing beta one with the envoy ships and it was very neat, i would try to get them out first, along with the scouts and they would have the invulnerability on and the only ships that would attack would be the pirates, the factions and the militia would veer off when they came close. When the envoy ships hit the grav well of a faction planet, they would go straight for the planet and establish an embassy, which was very cool, i would get a 10% raise

I miss it too, and i shouldn't say this, but i have thought of course, of making it back into the passive ability it was before, take the ability and edit it. or do the lasts for 120 recharges at 120. Or something less brutal in between. Just a modding thought, -Teal

I don't know if this is the proper place to put a question, but i believe the first release the envoy ships were invulnerable to attack except from Pirates. All the Militia and Factions would disregard the envoy. I thought this was very interesting. With the release of course now of beta two, that behaviour seems to have changed. The ships are invulnerable, but only for a certain time, and even after entering the well of another world and establishing relations I still get
:) Actually i was hoping it was in for a reason, like the Pirates were going to have to research or "capture" or "trade" for the research in order to get the ability. But that would probably take longer than Devs might want. Good find Ryat, and interesting, haha, but i think i keep seeing these kind of things as cool possibilities for ... and my imagination starts churning away, haha. :) I'd make a lousy bug finder!! I agree on having different ways to play the game, different ways to win the game, and as Koiju said more options is more fun and more ways to enjoy the game!!! I hope the Devs listen, right now Diplomacy is not as far along as that, or rather, it appears that the tech, credits, resources trade and the sliding gauges of relations makes it much more complicated than it was before, and offers new things we didnt have before. I believe the main difficulty, not impossibility, with this, is that currently the starbases use a main mesh and appended meshes that are added for the various upgrades. I think it "may" be able to be done with ships, you would have to talk to the devs to make certain. The starbases are currently a "hybrid" type of structure, since they combine features from buildings, like the hangar and trading dock buildings with the firepower of a well upgraded capital. :) a LOT of potential, :) just my opinion, but play it, it brings a lot of interesting things into the game, and makes the game play differently than we have played it before. Very very nice. And this of course on release day 1 is only the tip of the iceberg. Sounds like a very cool idea to me, as someone posted above, it may not be the end all, but it certainly sounds like a good place to start for ramping up the game to make it even more interesting than it already is. :) -Teal
:) I usually start with The Battleship, good hull and shields, good firepower, then i add the Mothership to backup the Battleship and to restore shields, helps alot in heavy battles in the start, when everyone is hitting my planet. Sorry for shouting! :) I built two caps and two repair bays, sent out two scouts and then built up two envoys, :) They are sweet! The factions dont fire on them and the rebels turn back, whew!!!
