Well i was tooling around in my neat survey ship the SS Foobar and all of a sudden (not really) the drengin decided i needed to attend their dinner party (as a sided dish :) ) A well placed missile took out the fubar and captain picard was last seen in an escape pod with a pretty altarian girl from wardell. And depending on the militrary improvements where a ship was built, a battleship built on an omega shipyard, with 2 starbases maxed out on military rescources could give your mega s

"just think how much worse it would be if it were "fixed". You could literally destroy a system by sending in a steam of cheap and nearly empty transports with mass drivers. Now imagine Brad programming the AI to take advantage of this and it'll be our worse nightmare" i did that on purpose to deny the yor a chance to recapture a a planet too close to me. It took a class 20 down to a class 9! In this case i denied the yor of one of their better planets when they were still way ahead o

there seems to be a 4th era, when everybody has rangers and above. Then you have to watch out, cause the a.i's ships can really put you in a world of hurt :) sensor drones do reduce the fog of war effect, and going after them does make some sense. and on gigantic maps you are very likely to meet the more advanced ships before you can win. have fun playing the cat ~SDC~

A cpuple of points; In the current game the carnoids, i-leage, sccottilingas are all spending money to destabalize me. and the morale has suffered greatly (4 incredible, i genius, gigantic galaxy) but you can still make it work by adjusting your spending habits. so here are a few ideas; random dice roll to set the starting morale parameters, incrementally from the prevoius levels to the new current levels (you'd never know which level it was set, so it might

and if your morale starts falling because it is overpopulated you can build a combat transport and ferry the surplus population to planets that might be underpopulated. And if you want you can freeze dry the population, send them to a far corner of the universe, where they will wait till you decide to invade those unlucky souls that live there :) yours in TUNA the cat

announcement for immediate release frobozz & flathead scientific have developed a new starbase module which when activated will fire anti Troll missiles. This weapon renders the keyboard of the troll useless and also sends the offending troll into a harry potter movie where he most likely belongs LOL the cat ~SDC~

you can also build a terror star on a resouce and when you move the terror star, the recource moves with it. Good when you want to get in closer to defended sectors. yours in TUNA the_cat_known_as_louie ;)

the higher your morality stats (o=evil, 100=pure good) the easier it is for the other races to aling with you. If you go to war constantly with them, they will be disinclined to become an ally" hint sometimes it's bettter to give a tech away for free than to go for tribute. It is one of the ways to build friendships. A powerful tech can turn someone from cool to friendly in 1 turn

"The problem here being that they build all the wonders and trade goods before anybody else has a chance. " i have biult in this current game diplomatic translators, gravity accelorators, eyes of the universe, nanaobots, and fristionless clothing. This is on a gigantic map with 3 races st bright andd 2 at intelligent. I suggest you try adjusting you spending sliders to perhaps research tech faster. also keep enough money so if you can buy the trade good rather that waiting for

when you successfully invade an enemy's starsystems if he has more tech than you, you can sometimes steal tech (it's a random draw from what's he has that you don't). it also happens the same to you if your enemy invades successfully one of your systems ~SDC~

Hi Nvrmind the way to get the other races to like you more is quite varied. I suggest that you research diplomacy. you can build incredible cultural weapons. and in the giagantic galaxies at the harder settings it's necessary just for you to stay even. also check out JavaScouts Webpages at http://webpages.charter.net/trevorpowdrell/ hope this helps rich ~SDC~

at higher levels they reject the trade and will even ask why so you can attack me again? also everything changes depending on your diplomacy skills and thos of the race you're trading with. (Hint) trading diplomacy teachs is very good in the short run but not so good in the long run

if you are allied with a race and they go to war, as an ally you are expected to follow and join the battle unless you want to break the treaty, which usually drops the relations down a few notches. and if you go to war and then sue for peace, other things can happen you might not like either. alliances are things to be thought thru and not casually enetered into. try a few thinngs and watch what happens rich ~SDC~

sometimes if you ahve built ships that carry a maintenance cost associated with them, even when you slide you spending rations to 0 (which seems to me to be indicative of deisposable spending) there will still be costs, just like if a ship is destroyed you still have to pay the lease on it (if you bought it) rich ~SDC~
