Early game sneaking in an Orky is effective, but if you have that happening, research the torpedos and take it out, he just spent a lot of resources on a single starbase instead of ships. Then again I havn't played MP in a long time since I finally got a job again. I'll try to get on this weekend and play some MP again to see if I can sneak one in before it gets blown ot pieces.

Does the Vasari colony ship have antimatter and the Advent/TEC not? That would be where to start

They copied the code for placing starbaes and reused it for placing mines - lazy devs! you can fix it now if you want or just wait thats not a big deal - the fact that you can place mines now is WAY better than a typo!
I've had the problem as well - it would seem that it is somehow a memory issue - IE not enough. If you look at mines early in the game they don't have this problem - but once the game has progresses and everyone and their mother and sister poops out mines it starts - if you keep playing especiially on larger maps you will eventually minidump. And yes startdock is aware of it ;)
a lot of the time i find it heaper to upgrade a sb in nutrals with alleconomy and defense - as vasari i can over time make a fortune with a 1.5/s tradeport and 100 population and phase gate
I'm sure it will be i think those prices are all placeholders - in another post i tihnk in the modding section i made a quick mod with rebalanced prices which makes most things reasonable
yup they stack the better reason is to complete chains in nutral territory now it seems that entrenchment has made it so nutrals no longer count as a chain wtihout a SB+tradeport
Will the minidumps and specs help? I don't know but I know for a fact that if you don't try it won't be fixed. The easiest way for you to send IC your specs is in the run box type "dxdiag" and that will pop up the directX diagnostic utility from there it will take a few secodns to run the diagnostic and generate a report - my system freezes when it does that but whonce the paddles shock it back to life, there is a button at the bottom that says save all information sav
Fleet my recromendation is please please please send all your minidumps and saved games to [email protected] along with as much information as you can - your machine specs, your ISP, router, and a general location of where you like like Oakland, CA in an apartment or stuff like that. The disconnects could be completly unreleasted to the game itself, it could be a conflict with something in the router that causes packets to get lost or dumpe

In my oppinion the game is just fine without updates. Since you have a valid (ie not used copy) you have the ability to recieve support - you payed SD/IC for those rights. epiclulz purchased a used copy and thus has not paid SD/IC for that support. Purchasing a new copy entitles you to recieve updates - and those updates are needed to play online though ICO A used copy does not give the purchaser those rights - this is all staed clearly in the EULA - legal or n
build lots and lots of little ships as fast as possible as tec you can often spread out fast enough to get some good choke points and settle those early so you can build your infrastructure while keeping relatively safe now the serious problem with this is you are burning though a lot of resources do to fleet size. also eith TEC the tradeport is only a lvel 2 civvy so you should almost build 2 at your home planet just to start pumping out money so quick but i p
what i do if i have the resources is boost one of the other teams but if you're fighting on 2 fronts then you more than likely are pretty strapped. What I would recromend is fortify a choke point with turrets and fighter/bomber ships and move the rest of your fleet out to bypass their main force and destroy some of their research and culture building that usually pisses them off enough to wherere they try to chase you - if you're lucky you can make one big circle and hit both of the o

Well I was trying to figure out how the phase missles worked for the LRM and the likes - basically I feel that the explosive mine should be nothing more than a rocket launcher floating in space with a payload of say 6 missles and a short range that way upto 6 target can be hit, the more ships nearby the less damage spread out - and 6 beefy phase missles say 500 dam each should do the trick - 1 ship would be toast but 6 ships shoudl skate by fine at least it seemed like somethi
A side note - would it be safe t oassume that say once patch 1.3 comes out that 1.12 would be made available through "traditional" means? or would there be a way to have the download be made available with a signed download containing a method for determining the origional user? I ask only out of curiousity - i don't particualarly care for impulse but it do see the value behind it. I like 3mb patches ;)
What about changing the vasari explosive mines to do damage as a phaes missle style - sometiems bypassing shields? my solution kept causing a minidump :)
