I think DRM is a waste of time, personally. There's ALWAYS a crack out for games whatever they come up with, the only people annoyed are the legit customers.

I hear that. Particularly when I know what makes a good combat engine, if it's flawed I immediately discard it. Because I can't afford to waste my time on something that's an annoyance.

It's great to see the new tech, still trying to find out how to dispose of mines though..

You know what? I'd be satisfied with just text of the story, posted right here. I wouldn't even need a campaign, I really just want to know more about the factions, their motivations, etc. But if it's true they were halfway done with a campaign already, I'd really love to see them finish it.
it's kinda funny that ppl keep saying im insulting but they wont quote where i do it. Plz do so or apologize and shut the eff up[/

I'm more of an all-round gamer.. I play counter-strike, the witcher, baldurs gate, icewind dale, basically everything released by westwood.. the list goes on and on and on. I like combat things, such as the new Fallout 3, which is a really solid game - and I enjoy it a lot. Hence, it's purchased. The witcher I bought twice. (one special edition.) I agree with you that tastes are subjective though, for example, though I enjoy a good first person shooter,

Kruppe, I think it would be wise if you just left this thread and stopped talking. In fact, you should have considered doing that before participating in the first place. You're rude and insulting to everyone else. And thanks for calling us campaign interested players retards. That really warms the heart.

Nah, it doesn't. Because like someone previously stated, everyone is at war. I want a game where I feel the enemy at the gates, they are nabbing solar systems, I am a commander with an army that's basically dead and rusted, with only a few rudementary planetary defenses to guard against uprisings, raiders and the like. I want to FEEL what it's like to be swarmed by two races, further more, I want to understand the Vasari's motivations for attacking the tra

Sure, if the net café buys 'em. We're talking a private person installing a privately purchased game in a computer that is part of a business.

No no. You're a customer at this net-café. You have bought a game.. or so you claim.. and wish to install it to multiple publicly accessible computers. A net café is public domain, regardless of whether you have to pay to use the computer. I am fairly confident, that if you want to play sins at this location - you must pay for a license for each computer.

Thank you! My point exactly. I mean, I am on some networks where I am only there to be on ONE channel. Seems so redundant when they can easily fit inside other categories.
Seriously guys RTS are for Random Map and Multyplayer. If you want a story you really need to go play Diablo, Guild Wars or any other MMO. Most serioud RTSers could care less about a story. I personally would never play it as has been said before who needs a 16 hour tutorial.
"Most" RTS'ers? I'll have you know I'm an avid RTS'er. I still enjoy a good campaign for the back-story to the game

Well, I am currently playing gateway as a TEC vs. three hard AI's in locked teams, I almost immediately maxed my fleet capacity and rushed the gateway planet, and took it. Colonized with the capitol ship, expanded fleet capacity, designated homeworld, moved in to the Xi system and started colonizing. Now I've got a rather nice simple defense set-up, and 14 capitol ships in my main fleet. Half of which are Marza's... I am PUMMELING the AI, decimating worlds as I go alon

I 'pirate' stuff regularly. I test out the material, either via a demo or a pirated copy, and then I purchase it - IF I LIKE IT. I own several hundred vinyl albums, 500 dvd films, several hundred CD's and 50-100 games. I cannot afford to waste my low income (I'm a student, currently) on material I do not want. Hence, I test before I buy. If I didn't have the option of playing a demo or getting a pirated copy, I'd never have discovered sins of a solar empire, nor pu

I am on the IRC now, and it's added to the other four networks I frequent.(Why does everyone insist on having their own IRC network.. grumble..)

I haven't been able to get it to work either.. if I attempt to log in with the account I created when buying, it just says invalid account, if I attempt to create one it just says "disconnected"... Meh, single player is fine for now, no biggie.

Is that legal? Seems to me you're installing a game for use in a public domain, with anyone being able to access it? http://www.google.dk/search?hl=da&q=sins+of+a+solar+empire+patch&btnG=Google-s%C3%B8gning&meta=&aq=f&oq= Google is your friend.

I must admit I have been favouring Kol's over marzas, obviously I've underestimated missile barrage. I am starting to like Advent more, simply because I don't have to micro-manage them, they wipe the floor with TEC fleets two-three times their size, with insignificant or zero losses. Maybe I'm an advent player, after all. ;)

I agree. It saddened me greatly that sins didn't come with a campaign. I am a history buff, of sorts, and I enjoy reading about things like that. Hell, I'd have settled for a detailed description of the timeline. In text. I'd read it. Yes. If I am to keep playing this game, I am going to need a full-fledged campaign eventually. Doing random maps is fun and well, but in the end you end up with a desire for more of the back story. Watching the intro m

Hi, in the my account profile altering page, there is an invisible button to save your settings. Of course it may just be because I am using firefox, but somehow I doubt it. Might want to have a look. :)

I never, ever - EVER have problems with econ when playing TEC. It's solid as a rock. And when I say solid, I do mean VERY solid. I can't spend enough to have problems with resources. It's just not possible. And yes, my gateway planets did have 3-4 frigate factories, and since my game laggs so much in these massive battles, micro-managing is not really an option for me. (I'm currently waiting on my new system. Which I am building myself. HD4870, E8500, Asus P5Q Pro & 4GB cors

Right. I've played this game extensively by now (118 hours according to my xfire), dominating most of the pre-packaged games. I found I liked TEC, maybe due to patriotism or whatever. I decided to up the competition, and play vs. only hard AI's. I downloaded the "Six player defensive" map from wincustomize, like the whole choke-point concept, and got to playing against three random AI Hards. I had just barely gotten the planets in my system, and positione
