Does SoaSE have any PhysX capabilities? I just installed a Geforce GTX260 which has a PhysX engine, and just wondering what to expect from the best 4x game ever

Awesome! That fixed it. Thanks Kitkun! btw, no, I'm using my monitor's drivers....though I have 3 "default monitors" listed in my device manager for some reason --but my 2 monitors are also listed but with the proper designation and driver.

Dooes SoaSE support 1280 x 1024? The max I have the option for is 1280 x 960. I just did an upgrade of my mb/ram/gpu and I could have sworn that I used to have it set at 1280 x 1024 (the native resolution of my lcd monitors). Thanks! RM

I play with the tactical grid on. I was thinking that the local area would be everywhere where there is the grid (that you can build structures in). There is a small area outside of the grid where you are allowed to build.... I'm assuming that the gravity well is the entire area around the planet....outside of the gravity well are the space lanes, right? Is there a designation for the area outside the grid, but before the space la
this is not a problem with a widescreen monitor harpo
I'm running at 1280 x 1024...it shouldnt be a problem, but it is. For someone running 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768, I could understand. I also run two monitors...too bad we dont have double monitor support... :( the hillarious thing is that you can SELL, but you cant buy while the tech screen is up!

Again, a small change, but I think it would be amazingly helpfull if the technology research screen was moved to the left another inch or so, so that we could buy/sell metal/crystal for research while keeping the tech window open. As it is now, if you see you dont have enough of whatever to do the research, you have to close the window, buy/sell, then reopen the tech window. This is tedious and unnecessary. RM
I'm not too keen on this whole "pick a form of government" thing. Sins is different from Civ or Galciv in that you are not so much an emperor managing his empire over the course of many years, but more of a grand admiral directing the military effort to conquer a particular solar system or two. I think adding political options to the game removes the war-focus and takes the game in a very different direction. [/qu
I would like to see the following: 2. Mother ship: The mother of all ships. Make it four times the size of a cap ship. Each race can control only one of those ships at a time. It should be able to take care of two caps easily, however it would sustain extra damage from strike craft (they are too fast for the point defense system of the mother ship... huh, memories of star wars...) and to siege frigates.
@ ready man: researched items already do appear different. they have silver lineout and a little silver embellishment in the lower left corner. for not fullly completed icons it gives you the number/ level currently researched. as for the list: great idea. I'm not sure, if it's not even doable over string file, after all, that one controls all the text in the game as far as I can determine. never seemed to work for me though. <br /

I'd like to see a couple of simple additions: The items that have been researched in the military etc windows should have an easily identified mark (a light red x or something) to signify that it has already been researched. It is so irritating to research a bunch of things, but have to hunt thru each item to see if it's been fully researched. An easy fix, but a HUGE benefit. The option to make a list of names in a file that then randomly use those n

Wilebill, some of the stickied posts in the forums have information similar to those links. Actually, we can all go a long way by posting links to info that is helpful to us...as new players/and existing players will appreciate the quick links and info! the wiki is a real find, and its FULL of interesting stuff. replays are very important to an RTS, especially with so many new players on the scene. Looking forward to having replays fixed! :) RM

I actually learned A LOT by playing a couple of games, then replaying the tutorials...got me up to speed very quickly. Also, I have had every question answered to complete satisfaction here in the forums (this is a very helpful community). wilebill makes a few good points though.... There are some good learning videos on youtube...but the best way to learn is to play the game and then ask questions about it. Also, this wiki site is good: <a

That's very clear! Thank you for explaining all of this. I dont know where I'll find the time to manipulate the market (in my current game I'm playing vs 8 AIs, and they are all attacking me....seems like I barely have enough time to upgrade the planets and do other important things before another set of attacks hits.
