Posted this in the Beta Feedback, might make more sense for it to be here. I play Sins on two computers, one is a home-built desktop, the other is a new HP laptop. Specs on both: Desktop: AMD Phenom II BE 940 3.0Ghz, 6 GB DDR2, Radeon 5770 Laptop: Intel Quad i7m 2.2 Ghz, 8 GB DDR3, Radeon 7690m Both are obviously quite capable of playing/running the game. I frequently get the black screen on startup of the game on the laptop and have to sleep the laptop and wak
It's not a superweapon nerf, it's a faction specific buff that would mitigate but not entirely resist all ability/weapon/passive regen reducing abilities or effects. I just happened to be using the Kostura effects as an example.
They're barely affected at all. I meant more the tactical structures you place. I'm all for having the Kostura have its intended effect and disable everything, but for such a defensively minded faction it makes sense to me that they would have hardened emplacements or something that help to mitigate the duration of the Kostura effect.
Hi all, I've been playing some games recently as the TEC loyalists, trying to see how much two starbases and a titan can stand up to. One thing I've noticed is that the Vasari Kostura cannon completely hamstrings the ability of the TEC loyalists to successfully hold off a large assault. I know this is one of the best things about the Kostura cannon, but I think it complete
If it's in the grav well of the artifact planet it's the Rebel titan. I have to confess that I don't see anything indicative of..well..anything in its appearance or abilities or anything. I was using the dev.exe to look at it and I've got my game modded so I can play as the Vasari and I really don't see anything telling anywhere. axxo, if you want to, PM me what you think it is. I've looked at this from every angle I can think of and its not jumping out at me. </p
Quoting axxo2, reply 117 no just the regular beta... some vasari are still in there... Can you be little more specific ? [e digicons]:pout:[/e] He means (I think) the artifact planet in one of the alternate game modes. It is guarded by a neutral (read: hostile) Vasari fleet which includes a Titan an
It happens randomly, ships are set to engage in the gravity well, theyre not in a fleet so it isnt a cohesion issue. Ive seen it happen with Titans, Capital ships, frigates, and cruisers. Issuing a second attack order (clicking the original target again) will sometimes make them stop and fire as normal. This leads me to believe there's some sort of crossover between the attack order and move order commands. Heavy cruisers get close to attack, yes, but not almost touching their target. It&
axxo, is it an ability it has or is it on the ship itself. I spent about half an hour yesterday looking at the Vas rebel titan and I don't see it.
I have noticed that which of my computers I'm playing on makes a difference in desyncs. For example, my laptop almost always desyncs within the first 5 minutes of the game while my desktop almost never desyncs. I play comp stomps a lot with a friend and he always uses the same computer, the desyncs seem entirely on my end. I'll try to find some files from a game where this happened and send them over. Theyre from old updates though so I'm not sure how useful that would be.
Hi all, not sure if this has been mentioned, thought I would say something in case it hasn't. I have seen that quite frequently when I give my ships an attack order on a specific ship (without a prior intentional or accidental move order) they will run right up in the face of whatever they are attacking. This happens no matter what the range of the ships are (LRFs, Cruisers, Frigates, etc) and happens to ships in a fleet and ships NOT in a fleet. I wish I had a screenshot of this, i
Is Galaxy Forge working correctly for the new Beta (.78)? I've been trying to add a map I made and it won't show up in game no matter what I do. Just want to see if this is something I'm doing wrong or not. Thanks.
Thanks, the weird thing is that I never touched that file. I know from the limited modding I used to do in Sins that you don't dick around in the base files without a backup. I messed around in the entity.manifest file and in a file in the Window folder. I wont say which file because it's for Rebellion. I'll see if I can fix it when I get home. Thanks again.
Hi all. I have been messing around in the files for Sins Rebellion and somehow I broke the quick start option so it doesnt work at all. I dont think I edited anything that would break this and I dont know where the code that controls it is so I was hoping someone could point me to it. I know I could just have Steam redownload it and fix everything but I'd rather figure it out for myself. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
This is in regards to the black screen issues/minidumps/random crashes. I play Sins on two computers, one is a home-built desktop, the other is a new HP laptop. Specs on both: Desktop: AMD Phenom II BE 940 3.0Ghz, 6 GB DDR2, Radeon 5770, etc. Laptop: Intel Quad i7m 2.4 Ghz, 8 GB DDR3, Radeon 7690m Both are obviously quite capable of playing/running the game at high specs, especially the desktop. My problem is that when I play on the laptop, single player or multiplayer
I'm sure you guys have thought of this, but I just wanted to say something in case it hadn't crossed your mind. The new abilities in Rebellion (specifically phase jumping starbases and planet destroying titans) really open the door to adding the Death Star in some capacity to the mod. Probably really OP/imbalancing but the possibility is there and is awesome.
I posted this idea for the Eradica's level 6 ability in another thread, but I think it got a little lost so I'll repeat it here. I'm not positive this can be done, but my suggestion is to have the ability be an activated one, but only after the titan has reached a certain health threshold (say 1500). Then, similarly to what the OP said, have it cost somewhere around 200 AM, have a decent cooldown, and buff ability recharge rate, AM recharge rate, and weapon damage, a
I have a new HP laptop, very similar specs to OP. Frequent minidumps/black screens/alt-tabbing out of the game causes black screen, etc. No such issues on my desktop. Something to do with mobile graphics cards perhaps? Mine is a Radeon 7690M, i7 @ 2.4 GhZ, 8 gigs of RAM, 64 bit Windows Home.
Tried to play several different MP games with a friend last night, all of them desynced almost immediately, within the first 10 minutes. I was always trying the Advent Rebels, he was the TEC Rebels. We tried about four different games, me on two different computers. He hosted twice, I hosted twice. Didnt make any difference. I dont know if this is just a huge problem the Beta has or if there is something else going on. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

Hi all, Been doing some thinking, got a couple ideas for changes to titan abilities, specifically to the Rebel Advent and TEC. For the TEC, overcharge is fairly underwhelming, and to be honest I was hoping that the Ragnarov would have some serious anti planet capabilities. Therefore, I'd suggest the following: move overcharge to a regular ability. Merge explosive shot and snipe, nerf the damage. Keep scattershot the same. Make the ultimate ability something like 1000
Yup, didn't want it to get lost in the shuffle. I can repost in that thread. [e digicons][/e]

What about basically a scaled up version of the Marza's bombing ability? One shot = 500 planet damage and scales up by level/having overcharge. I dont think it really needs both Scattershot and Explosive shot. A slight nerf to damage, and combining Snipe and Explosive shot makes a certain amount of sense. The sheer power of the shot produces a large explosion, damaging nearby ships/structures.
Got a few I've seen: 1. Titans still tend to prioritize strike craft as targets if there aren't any larger ships within weapon range 2. The lense flare from stars is stuck pointing in one direction, if you rotate the camera you can view the effect from different angles (very minor. I've only noticed this a couple times, not sure how wide spread it is) 3. Loyalist TEC titan will slide sideways to get closer to targets that are just outside its range (wh
