Wonderful! I'm preordering right now. Can't wait to play! ^_^
(definitely don't want to start a religion war in sins)
Didn't the Advent pretty much cause a religious war? ;) If I can add some input, I also doubt that Vasari leaders would be assassinating each other. To me, the Vasari (Or at least the Exodus fleet) seems far too desperate and far too efficient to want to waste even a single Vasari member to die uselessly. Though of course, it's difficult to tru
Enormous amounts of Scouts are one of the best strategies against the LRF/Flaks, if only because of sheer numbers. However, this does take quite a few resources, and probably isn't viable for Vasari at all. The key is simply have the Scouts demolish LRFs, leaving the Flak intact. And they're easy pickings for LFs. Of course, this probably won't work if the Flak are in a formation to attack with all four guns. Otherwise, Fighters actually do work if probably micromanaged, and are the f
Swordsman your right, I do remember the mentioning of shock troops. Although I havent been able to find where, the manuel nor the games intro speaks of it. 1.) The Trade Order would have had an issue with Pirates long before Vasari or Advent arrival. Meaning even before the war they would have had the need for some kind of "Policing" Frigate. Maybe the Predocessor to the Cobalt. Kindof like the Coast Guard except SoaSE style. U
C.I, you're concept of spirits is pretty neat. I think it fits pretty nicely with the Vasari and their personalities, though it's kind of doubtful that every Vasari would be a genocidal maniac. XD But very cool writing. ^_^ So, the Earth Spirit would be pretty much the Vasari interpetation of a 'human guardian' God? Maybe I'm overthinking it, but the Earth Sprit seems a lot like the Abrahamic God- in both watching and care for His creations. ^_^
I'm not really looking at Acer's much, because their longevity isn't exactly great. :/ How good are Toshiba Satellites? I've been looking at one which fulfills SOASE requirements, but are they built well?
Oh yeah, my very first job. Not yet the first day on the job; the first of training. I fall ill and pass out. I don't remember a thing about the training that day. Never experienced anything like it before. Lucky me, this makes you parched and thirsty, and soda (sugar) just happens to be a short-term cure. Even more luckily, HR had a couple of people on vacation and were extremely busy. Best job I've yet had.
Yeah, trainin
Americans can't vote, your military has already screwed the world over enough times, including Canada ( cough, cough Avro Arrow)
Hey, we Americans wouldn't have to go in if the Canadians and Europeans would do more than complain about the United States and do more militaristically. Though this is more of a counter-insult joke rather than being serious. ^_^ But seriously, go ahead and insult our politicians, our government, and our obesity r
As I've said before, I think the ambiguity and need for the fan to make assumption actually adds wealth to the lore. If they kept confirming details, soon there would be no room for the creativity and diversity that really defines the Sins universe fan-fics.
I completely agree. While more information is nice, the current lack really helps us fans when writing in the Sins universe. And great post, Alligience! ^_^ You're
I really appreciate the help, everyone. Thanks. :)
Sova is really the only lackluster carrier, and even then embargo is definitely one of the game's most powerful abilities. It's just the only useful one on an otherwise useless capital ship.
I really don't think Embargo is that great. It's extremely situational ability. I mean, the only time I've seen Embargo being great is on extremely small maps. Otherwise, the Sova's only real purpose is for a feeder trying to d
Here's a 4v4 match for 1.03 Entrenchment that was completed just shortly. I think it also helps show how much map position can hurt a player, though for the most part this was fortunate for my side. ^_^ <span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"
Envoy Cruisers have diplomatic immunity during their normal travels between embassies and cannot be attacked. If they use their espionage ability to attempt to sway the populace of an enemy planet to your side, they become vulnerable to ships and planetary defenses provided that player has researched the neccesary technologies to deal with spies in their midst (Counter-Espionage or Informant Networks). <br
The Diplomacy expansion will add Chuck Norris to the game. The diplomacy aspects are simply the way for all three races to deal with the presence of Chuck Norris' awesomness in the universe.
Which is why Diplomacy is the last micro expansion. Everyone knows you can't make treaties with Chuck Norris! After you see Chuck Norris, you're either dead, or you're dying.
+1 He sounds like a Klingon from Star Trek.
So the Romulans didn't destroy those 47 Klingon vessels! It was the Vasari! :p And it's settled. The Vulkoras Desolater's captain isn't Vasari, but actually an alcoholic Klingon. ^_^
9. We’re a snotty, rude, and stuck up society that thinks we’re better than everyone else.
I think you went a bit too west. The French and the British seem a heck of a lot more snotty, rude, and stuck up. ;)
17. Many people are racist and stereotype people. 18.
It's probably easier to think up TEC portraits than it is to think of Vasari, or even Advent. Samurye. Well, I'm starting to save up money for a laptop. What I'm looking for is one that is affordable and can play Sins of a Solar Empire well online. Is there any recommended ones to look at? I'm hoping to spend only about $400 or so; no reason to spend an enormous sum of money, right? ^_^
Games that are probably good, that I bought but hardly played: Gal Civ II, Sins of a Solar.., Fantasy Wars, Age of Empires II
Definately give Sins and Age of Empires II another chance. They are fantastic games, honestly. With AOE, there's an enormous amount of fan-made AIs that really improve the game. I've been playing it for about seven years, and never gets boring. ^_^ The only game I've bought
Riker? Who? I like Salmon's idea for the Sova - he kinda sounds like he's still a fresh recruit, in a way. The Hoshi would probably look like a scientist at some console (for a good idea, take a look at the cockpit of SC2's Raven) - he sounds just a little too enthusiastic about his robots, if you ask me. I've always imagined the Sova Carrier captain to be a young (mid 20s, early 30s), lean fellow who actually looks like a professional officer. And the Marza as a really short guy. XD
Carriers: No one picks the carrier cap to start. Ok, so the Sova is bugged which is why no one picks it.
No one uses the Sova because it simply sucks. Even with Embargo unbugged, the poor Sova still has no viable reason to be a starting capital (or built at all). Missile Batteries is expensive, Heavy SC and Rapid Manufacturing are terrible, and it brings the lowest DPS and stats of TEC's capital ships. Unless someo
This looks very interesting. If you need any help with fitting your new faction in story-wise, I can try to help. ^_^ I hope this goes well, because having space dragons would be wonderful. ^_^

For example, let's say the Sova Carrier is available after researching Percheron Prototype, then Sova Carrier
While the lack of a third expansion is rather sad, at least this might give more time to balancing the existing game. ^_^
