There's neutral ships on every planet, the pirates should only activate and attack someone about every 15 minutes, you can find out how long and even bribe them to go after AI under the black market tab. naturally the pirates are only active if you chose so in the setting tab, they cant turn on themselves. I build a capital shipyard and colonizer capital as soon as the game starts along with getting the metal/crystal asteroids and usually the research
Just remember. No single faction is supposed to be a match for the Borg. It is possible, but extremely difficult to defeat the Borg with a single faction. It is intended that you use diplomacy to make allies to defeat the Borg.
I crushed an unfair Borg as the federation last weekend. It was 3 stars medium. allied with unfair klingons (not that they did anything) vs Borg, dominion and Romulons,

Springy, first have you read the manual. i remember there being something saying how to activate it properly in the download. second, its a good idea to restart sins after activating any mod, some files don't load properly if the program is already running.

you can have 1 star base per gravity well with the possible exception of (and feel free to prove me wrong) 4 star bases in a Stars gravity well. the star base constructor ship counts against your fleet cap, but once its actually building a star base you can count it as being destroyed so you get that population back. p.s to anyone claiming this thread is necro'd and whining about it. Thats what different victory conditions are for, don't want to have to completely kill an AI faction then put Cap ship victory or homeworld victory on. besides if your playing against more than one AI you normally have to kill off their remnants to get more planets anyway. A lot of RTS games I've played require total or near total annihilation of the enemy, and some have different victory conditions. In Starcraft you merely have to blow up all

Thats not exactly what I meant, though its nice to know. There's been a couple of times on Rebellion when an AI will just surrender (quit the game) even when not in any serious trouble. I played a 4 way last time and took a couple of an AI's planets and it just surrendered, did not even attack their homeworld.

Its rare for me to run away from a fight, unless i know im not going to win. the surrender button dose not exsist either. its total victory or total annilation. that being said, is there a reason the AI seems to surrender at the drop of a hat?

I'm sorry did someone say something? I wasn't paying attention. besides quick thing. huh the AI spams ship classes? i admit sometimes their fleet has a few more of one type than another but it always seemed kinda balanced to me. and well skilled at running away.

As I normally play with AI on Free for all mode they take time and attack each other. I know my expansion method leans to the more n00bish style, but against AI it works. first go for colonisesr cap, make sure resourse asteroides are being built on/have mines on them, 3 or 4 scouts and max the rest of fleet cap on basic ships. go for asteroids first and do the pop research (or whatever its called) for em and build lab. take other and upgrade other locals that dont need research, do research a

2 things 1 all is fair in love and war, meaning ALL you or your enemy dose is FAIR. if your getting killed....meh try again and come up with new battle plan. 100 illuminators killing a SB? big freaking deal, come back whining when you get a titan and 2 orkies jumping into the same grav well during the same battle. 2 what the flying frak is a RTS Shooter?
Quoting Arfoire, reply 1174so no point in trying the diplomacy version then? If you only have Diplomacy... then you should try the diplomacy version
i have everything including rebellion. was just wondering if there was any point to trying the diplomacy version. gonna stick to sins of 13th tribe till next rebellion release.

exactly how up to date is the diplomacy version of this? money has always seemed to be a problem with both the Cylons and the Colonials. The Cylons never seemed to have an actually currency system, despite having obvious worker and supervisor castes. The colonials on the other hand never give a frame of reference as to roughly what their money would be worth on earth. "I want 50 tough basestars surrounding the colonies and I want 50 sof

I'm sure you can turn off the auto-cast on superweapons as they are being built......could be wrong but still sure I've done it in past.

Twilight. assuming they have not changed the pirates from diplomacy, destroying the pirate bases wont get rid of the ones around planets or any pirate raids currently in effect. nor dose it prevent ships from spawning when a planet is lost from the loyalty thing. Oh and guys' quit bitching about it being necro'd and answer the question.

to be honest the Advent reminded me of the Protoss from starcraft. They have what amounts to a telepathic net that allows them to have a collective consciousnesses...least that's the impression I got from reading it. while they are linked to each other they also have individual thought and free-will. I figured the AL are like the Aiur Protoss and the AR are like the Shakuras Protoss who, while retaining their teleptathy, remain as completly separate beings.

a small economy buff? I find your definition of small to be fairly big. considering that cap ships cost on the order of 3k credits along with their crystal and metal cost. if they're being re-spawned for free (ignoring the hub cost). you can build a few ships for the cost of one cap. coming back at lvl 1 is hard coded anyway.....i think? a cunning player wanting to lvl a titan would find out were the hub is, stick a fleet there and repeatedly blow up
