I've created a new theme for DesktopX and am having some problems getting some items to stay in place. I'm looking for a volunteer who might now how to help me solve the problem. Thanks...

Sir MooShoo? Somehow I think "Samauri MooShoo" is more fitting. :-o All in all, don't take the ratings to heart. I think it all depends on the mood of whoever is reviewing the material when it's uploaded. They're human and it would seem that sometimes they just have a bad day.
I'll not further this "war" but conclude by repeating the immortal words of the infamous Hippy... "Bleah!"
I checked this out and have bookmarked it. Not only is it nice on the eyes but there is some good info here.
Yea, ain't it the truth! Some of my most downloaded items have pretty low ratings. I take em with a grain of salt just like movie ratings. I always seem to like the movies that get the worst ratings by the critics.
Berzerka, here's the info you requested. I feel some of them were under-rated but some people can be really critical about wallpaper. Name # votes - Rating Electric Night 3-4 Clear Earth v2 3-6 Four stages of life 2-5 Clear v2 6-6 Metallic Wheat 5-4 Clear 4-4 The Digital Age 3-3 Voodoo 3-5
How about when you read something Hippy wrote and wonder just what they consider "sane" where he lives. Or like when you read posts from crae and suddenly have a compulsion to by three deadbolts for all of your doors. :-o
This has been an ongoing debate for years. Sadly, it will never be as we want it. However, in case I forgot elsewhere... Paul... your stuff rocks! *sigh* and I wish I wasn't into five other projects because I would JUMP at the chance to work with you again. MooShoo - I would think you can still use the "y Skins" menu to do such.
If you do have Desktop X installed and the file ends in a "dxtheme" extension, double-clicking on it will initiate activation.
PJ or someone else here can correct me if I am wrong but I seriously doubt that the demo version is any less stable than the retail version. On another note... isn't it the modern way to throw money at problems?
As PJ said... or, you can download and try a different theme which may or may not have the plugin in question.
I don't find that the animations get annoying... just lose thier thrill. As I've said before... I have more fun doing the DX objects than I do using them.
Tarkus, I meant software... there have been rumors (yes, I know RUMORS) about them collecting info from the registry on what software you're running.
Not to sound like an angry old man or anything (so, ok, maybe I do) but I live in the USA and it's my right to bash whomever I choose. If you choose to filter my posts rather than reason with me, that's certainly your decision. I've been around this business for a LONG time and Microsoft (I didn't say I wouldn't try to cooperate) has been bamboozling people for many MANY years. I remember when tried to reject computer vendors their Windows licenses if they offered any other OS on the ma
I'm a "Skinphomaniac"
OH LORD!! Who let the Hippy dude in here? Skin, it's what's for breakfast.
I wasn't concerned about transmitting my personal info and such to M$ , but more, what I have on my system. It's none of their damn business. As Tarkus points out, having M$ have ANY control over the OS on my system is more than they should have. The fact that I run they're OS is shameful enough without having to admit they managed to pull the plug on me. Also, IF and when I buy a copy, I
Roach! What it be dude!? I has been takin me a break from skin stuff fo' a while. I be's back now doh and I sees you be too. FoF... know all about it, same with me. AJ: 1600x1200 on a 19"? What do you have, superman vision? Geez, even after asking this, I still don't feel comfy doing stuff at 1280x1024 due to the aspect ratio thing. At least if I stick with a common aspect ratio,
Hoverboy... I understand from whence you speak. However... Win2k was built on the existing NT kernal and while it expanded the useful apps arena (games mostly), it also created it's own share of compatibility problems. To this day I still cannot reliably burn a CD even after trying no less than four different apps and two different drives. I know I'm no alone because the newsgroups and support boards are full of people like me. Soooo, what do I do to burn CD's? Boot 98 or NT (I have four OSs ins
You got a gang Kris? Hmmm... what's the initiation procedure? Do I have to knock off someone's skin or something?
AhHa! Another hypocrite joins the ranks! I talked trash about Win2k when everyone first started using it and, after a reasonable amount of time waiting for the other suckers to debug it, I switched. Now, I refuse to touch XP, ever! (or at least until someone else solves the major problems, whichever comes first :>) At least you can openly admit it Kris. Some of us just go on ranting months after we install something new. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/bigs
Dork... thanks mucho for the low-down! Since I just got back into DX, I was unaware that DXToys was a newer incarnation. Lemme get myself updated and if I still need help, I may take you up on your offer. TurdFerg... that's odd since your Chloe theme is where I first realized it's existance.
DXlabel is an add-on for DeskTopX that lets you control WinAmp, create clocks, etc...
Is there any documentation on this? I've scoured my drive and the net but can't find a thing. AND, it seems to me, that once I hit the validate button, no amount of effort to change font color or anything else is allowed. *sigh*
HAH Tarkus! I saw that... Tonight when I get home I'm checking it out.
