Mine seems fine.

I don't think we have to keep it positive. You put this in a public forum and thus if Hoppity wanted to say, "That notebook is a piece of junk" it is his right to do so. However, I concur what he said could have been said better.
Happy Birthday... and for your birthday I got you a brand new spanking... skin. Pick anyone from the library at WC and you get it free of charge!
Ok... this is very cool and very intriguing. High system requirements and cool to play with but I want to see if I can use it on a day to day basis.
Setting all the colors is the biggest pain in the rear to me. Too many colors to set and trying to decide what goes with the skin but isn't too butt ugly is by far my least liked part of skinning. Scrollbars are one of my favorite parts unlike most everyone else here.
While I own an nVidia card, my wife bought it for me so I had no choice. What some of us take issue with is that nVidia drivers for the last couple years leave a lot to be desired. There are other issues but let's leave it at that. Yes, an ATI skin would be excellent for those who own them and those who wished we owned them! Either way, Renato is one of the best skinners in existance an
Hmmm... as much as I dislike nVidia and commercialism, I gotta agree with Jafo (even though I HATE TO)... His reply sums it up. Soooo Doomgaze, as was said, yank the offending matter from a personal copy should you so desire. Sorry man.
There is no way that I am aware of. The real OSX dock can't either.
What version of DX are you using?
Word to the wise... DXtoys could have been a great plugin but it's somewhat unstable. Specially for new releases of DX
I tried Aston a while back and while I liked it, I still found it to have short comings then. However it has been totally revamped and there are more plugins for it everyday. I liked Talisman but it lost my focus when I got into DesktopX so I can't give it fair judgement. I liked NextStart the best and thus used it the most. I looked a litestep a couple of times but, as Jafo and anyone else will tell you, that takes WORK. I've never done HVD so I can't even gi
Hey Koasati! I knew I forgot to say hello to some people. It couldn't have been a WB setting because Paul's skin worked fine. And if I know you from my first run through the skin industry, well...
Well, with some help from star and one of mormegils themes I solved the Task Panel problem. I compared my UIS file to one created by mormegil line by line and then compared what SKS showed. I had to manually add the xp.stuff line to my UIS file AND manually add a filename under the XP Shell tab. For some reason SKS wasn't creating these entries but when I forced filenames into the skin it created the files and bang... task panels now work. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/s
BTW, I've been chatting with my old friends Hippy, PJPowel, MadIce, Snowman, Jafo, ValHalla, starone, Pas and prolly a couple of others for the last two weeks. Great to see those happy er, typings again (even though Mark bugs the shit out of me, PJ keeps kicking me from the channel, MadIce supports PJ which makes him no better, Jafo is the same pain in the ass he always was and Snowman just gives me a general hard time) from the people I used to know and love. Well, um, ok, maybe love was too st
For those old friends I haven't seen on IRC, a big warm hello to you! Doreen, Buzz, Migellito, Transmutate and all you other old skinners! Long time no see... Pop into IRC sometime and say howdy. Okay, I have a real to life question. Since I've been out of the loop for a while, I am trying to update some old skins and learn the new requirements of XP skinning at the same time. Mark (Hippy) has been
You are so critical Hippy... he had at least 4 letters right!
It is on Pixtudios site... here is a link to the original: http://www.pixtudio.com/download.php?id=591 By the way, I use the PC Mag stuff too. I like it.
Treetog is prolly getting close to a billion by now.
127k or so and crawling my way up to 128k! Course I have not been around for almost two years AND some of us don't skin as much (or as good) as Boxxi soooo... that's my excuse anyway.
Mucho congrats Bryan! It warms my heart to know I helped contribute to your download count quite a few times.
Let me correct something.. You CAN hide an object with the Hide state. However, you would have to create a totally transparent image of the same size. Make that image the active one under the Hide state and that would work. HOWEVER, just because you can't see it doesn't mean it is not there. Anything lying under it would not be accessible because when you clicked in that area, you would be clicking on your hidden object. To truly hide something you need to make it a pop-up.
Message feature works fine. I think you are confused about how it works though. The Show and Hide are not commands. Meaning by sending the "Hide" message it does not tell that object to hide. It only tells that object to use the appearance attributes of the hidden state. To litterally hide something you have to make it a pop-up and use an object to control the pop-up status. Someone can correct me if I am wrong.
I am working on something new. I recently uploaded an update of an old theme due to requests. Some like to use DX as a free form pad for thier work and others prefer something more strict. If you don't like what is available, create your own.
Well... since Hippy is staying, I suppose I could stick around for a bit too. Course I am an adult so I can come and go as I please therefore I don't expect anyone will be telling me what to do cuz if they did I would have to do what I wanted to and not what they wanted me to do cuz if I did that then I wouldn't be a person with much of a backbone and I would hate to go again when I've just come back after being gone so long and if someone told me to leave it would make me sad but I would stay a
I am all for someplace to have a place to show my ideas without being hammered. I know many of the skinners and have no fear of being embarrased by posting a "bad idea" in front of them. I see comments on posted skins being left like "Eww this is BUTT!" where-as constructive criticism is more productive. I for one have always asked around to have people look at my ideas before making them available to the general public.
