The thread's intent was to discuss Rebellion techs as demonstrated by the things you posted for the others. You violated this when you came to the Vasari by your mention of phase stabilizers. Recall that the Vasari are the mobility race in the game and have been since vanilla. That is a significant part of their theme. Also recall that for the cost and fleet supply, their ships are inefficient. Also,
Quick question from a new player: I am playing in a single player game (to learn how the game plays). I have Steam version of the game (bought via Steam). Will this patch be downloaded automatically as any other game on Steam or do I have to do download and patch manually? Do I keep my replays and saved games after patching process is done?
It is done automatically. The NEXT pach
Running fine on XP SP 3 here. The game rarely minidumps for me. Although only the devs would know if that has something to do with the Windows version or is just plain luck.
Noticed a couple things from your post. 1. You hate Vasari. 2. You obviously don't read the forums becase Sagewon made a thread more or less identical to yours a couple days ago.
1. What gives you that idea? 2. I read the forums daily... but this topic has indeed slipped my reading... [e digicons][/e]
All factions except the Advent Loyalists have one or more things that make them feared by the other races.Something that you dont want to face if you can avoid it. TEC Rebel: Ragnarov.... Pirate allies TEC Loyalist: Twin Fortresses... not to frightening Advent Rebel: Wail of the Sacrificed Vasari Loyalists: Strip to the core, The Maw, phase stabilizers in general Vasari Rebel: Jumping starbase... even when hopefully later balanced, armor
First off it should be mentioned for fairness reasons that Unity mass never had a good chance of being loved because people were like on drugs after using the immense powerfull snipe abiliy on the Ragnarov. And yet there are several reasons that make it do very poorly in combat: Range: At a range of 6000, in a normal battle the enemy will have maxed out shield mitigation by the time it does hit. Even with a high level titan, the maximum possible d
There has been a lot of discussion about WotS in several threads lately. For a good balancing discussion that can be easy followed by the Developers I think it would be a good idea to have it together in one place. So what do we know about Wail of the Sacrificed? - It requires 7 temples of harmony to get access to its research. - It requires an owned planet with a temple of communion on it. - When activated it kills your planet but
Very cool! [e digicons]:D[/e]
Jumping Vasari Rebel Starbase is currently op,. It is a cool feature though, it just needs rebalancing. The most urgent problem is that there is no punishment for making it phase jump capable. So its has all offensive and defensive upgrades at maximum, making it basically an Ankylon with the firepower of a Ragnarov. Making it an expensive and slot consuming upgrade as well as lowering it phase jump speed and it is going to be a lot more reasonable
EDIT: Ninjaed by Volt... [e digicons][/e] Phase stabilizers dont work across interstellar distances. If they would they would be insanely OP as it would allow you to bypass the requirement to jump to the star first. Phase stabilizers are already the probably most powerful technology in the entire game and it is an extremely painful job to deal with a Vasari using them with skill. For the lore, if Phase stabilizers would work accross inters
A move, that has been a very very good idea! [e digicons]k6[/e]
Quoting DirtySanchezz, reply 10IMHO, Wail of the Sacrificed is cheating (in PvP games) because it is so severely overpowered and contradicts what the game is about. And who defines what the game is about exactly lol? I'll just say the few games I've played against a clearly superior opponent, wail was of relatively little help. You maybe able to get it off once, but good players will assume you have it if you're Advent
Use the Neruda Envoy Cruiser to increase population by 25 %.... [e digicons]}:)[/e]
And then some people just get pissed when you field the equivalent of a level 10 titan half an hour into the game...
Best looking Titan: Ankylon with dark blue Best looking Capital ships: Radiance Corsev Best looking Starbase: Transcenia
What do you think which race or faction is the best for the different stages of the game? My opinion: Early game: TEC > Vasari > Advent Vasari is a very close second imho. Mid game: TEC -> Vasari -> Advent TEC is at an advantage here as the economic advantages begint to kick in. Advent also begin to rise but not enough to go toe to toe with the Vasari that still profit from their early game advantages. TEC might
I like that idea.

This is the first post in a series that will have all titans fight each other in an 1v1 situation. This is not meant to start another balancing discussion but more as helpful information that allows you to decide if you should stay and fight or run for your life when you have 2 titan supported fleets engage each other. TEC Ragnarov VS TEC Ankylon Round 1:
Lets get back on point guys.. The discords are the culprits responsible for absolutely destroying other races with there mini Chastic Burst(scream) slash ability disabling slash armor debuff combos.. This alone can kill every race in the game before the real chastic burst supports the fleet. I don't see how any of the other races abilities and ship hull integrity
Agreed, save game breaking patch should get version 1.4
I am playing daily and had 2 Minidumps since Beta 1 - and that on WIN XP [e digicons]:P[/e] Whatever the reasoning was behind dropping official XP support, it was clearly not a stability issue.
Does it make sense to have a starbase at a star? After all its range is quite limited compared to the massive size of the gravity well and so it can be easily avoided. I agree that one starbase can be useful for trade or culture and perhaps repairs... but thats about it.
