Its hard to actually use them in multiplayer because of Corvettes, but they didnt suffer as badly as the other ones. The best way to use them is when in a group throw them in the middle of the enemy forces. All there banks will fire upon the enemy fleet giving huge AoE damage.

Its a tradeoff, a rather poor one considering pirates are almost never on in multiplayer. You get to expands as much as you want, but you cannot creep from a pirate base, so you have to baby them to make sure titans do not go in to creep off them.

You're missing the point it doesn't matter how many ways advent can make culture, it doesn't matter where they spread this culture it doesn't matter how many different techs they have for culture. Using culture offensively is one of the most difficult things to pull off in the game. @Sin: I agree I just think it would be more practical for Guidance to be changed to what I purposed it would make it fit as the Advent siege capital ship.

Culture is no different for the Advent than it is for the other races, as long as they keep up with you in culture producing structures it doesn't matter.

If that were true then the Deliverence Engine would be awesome. Yeah? It all depends culture is easily countered which is why you never see it effectively used in multiplayer except as a economical boost.

Eh, I don't think it needs another bombardment ability. My new guidance would fit the whole AoE capital ship dominance of the Advent. As getting rid of culture generation would help colonize the planet after it has been bombarded. While your new guidance would spread culture to help keep the planet under your control. All of it is just one synergetic combo that makes sense with bombarding a planet.

I like your Antorak changes, but the durations could use some changing in my opinion. I agree with most of what you said but Clairvoyance should have a culture spread rate, maybe it could reveal mines as well. But that would mainly be for singleplayer and combating lower level players as almost no serious player uses mines in multiplayer. Also here is an interesting idea, why not make guidance a embargo/subversion equivalent. Perhaps when used on an enemy planet it will

Also I would like some insight Goa, what exactly are the roles of the Advent. It seems like Stardock dropped the ball when they were created. And what I mean is take a look at the other races. I compiled them and assigned them roles to help demonstrate what I mean. Race--Dominion--Role--Vanilla Role TEC-R Offense - Expansion - Economy TEC-L Defense - Production - Economy Vasari-R Defense - Diplomacy - Mobility Vasari-L Offense - Economy - Mobility Thi

OOps, forgo about expulsion. But its very niche, but I suppose it counts. I do believe all you need to do is take over a planet, it doesn't matter if you conquer it by evicting an enemy first. I don't actually know though because there is no info in the info panel to actually show if it is working or not. And I find global unity very useful because you only need to place one temple early game for the economy, but if you keep expanding that temple will barely catch up to the rate of yo

Well I disagree goa, there is one thing that they are good at, better than the Rebels at least. They have a pretty good "build order" for economy. Once the Advent-Rebel gets to tier three there is pretty much no economical tech that they can get until Allure. But the loyalist can research assimilated populace(Tier 4, this tech should also be in perception in the Harmony Tree <__< just a pet peeve.), then go into global unity(Tier 5). But that is pretty much all they have going for them

I mean seriously, anyone? Competitively on multiplayer, does anyone play them because I never actually see them. I feel as though my Advent Rebel is pretty solid. Has anyone developed an actual strategy for them that is worth using? Or are they as useless as my last thread suggested.

Honestly I don't really like the idea. It makes sense, but doesn't exactly fix the problem. Because eventually the Vasari-R player WILL get to the point of having an orky and titan jump to your systems. Albeit a bit slower than before. I just don't see why they don't make it only jumpable in friendly territories. A good compromise would be lets use both our ideas and put your upgrade in with Enforced Loyalty, it would make enforced Loyalty less niche also. (I honestly

I'm just going to put it this way. The Advent really did not have much thought put into their design. The Loyalist got there theme, but its very weak. The Rebels is almost entirely RNG based for one of there main techs. But I do agree with riddle.

I am aware that you didn't win, as I said. Ideal conditions is what I am talking about here. In florida 70 mph does not always 70. Its standard. In an ideal environment you all would of expanded evenly with the same planet types, with the same amount of extractors, with a perfectly balanced matchup. And Advent player who sees that he is against a VL should be able to prepare I am aware that the other team may not have stood a chance but the magic of RTS is skill takes a huge part in this

[quote who="Seleuceia" reply="24" id="3190906"] Quoting MayallCommunion, reply 23If you actually took out a level 6 eradica I have to say its because the player didn't prepare properly. If he could afford the Eradica he could of spammed guardians and gotten a large amount of Illuminators. That said, that doesn't mean I dont think STTC needs a nerf. It does, but as I said it just need a price adjustment. Guardians and illuminators won't do jack against bombers...zomb
