Also I just thought of an interesting alternate way of buffing the level 6 ability of the Eradica. Well perhaps hard to balance, but certainly an interesting method: What if it remained passive(as it is now), but also passively applied a reduced version of it's effect to nearby allied frigates that are destroyed(perhaps a 3500-400km aura)- allows them to keep fighting for maybe 15 seconds after being destroyed with a damage boost damag

While this would certainly look nice it would make late game fleet battles utter chaos in terms of actually keeping track of where everything is for intelligent use of AoEs, holding formation and the like. It would be beautiful, but would IMO cut down on the strategic depth of the combat for anyone who lacks the perfect combination of genius an insanity to keep track of everything while it zips around the battlefield in large 100+ ship fleet bat
Quoting bilun, reply 47Again I disagree. At least in the absence of giving every faction a counter as reliable and effective as Ogrovs I think it is a very bad idea to improve starbase resistance to the only counter every faction has available. There is wisdom to this statement... I would argue that the fundamental problem with bombers is not that they are too good against SBs...it is that they are too good again
Honestly I my favorite solution to corvette spam I've seen was a proposition to turn the battleship caps into Anti-corvettes units by adding anti-verylight flak weapons to them. Kills 2 birds with one stone(new counter to corvettes & buffs battleships the most underused cap ship class), and doesn't risk gimping corvettes with a nerf in the process. That said, Flak certainly should get a speed buff(they should counter cor
Corvettes need their stats reduced a bit(perhaps a reduction to either damage or speed) and flak frigates need a speed upgrade so they can actually bring their firepower to bear on corvettes effectively. Though I've seen a few great alternative ideas to stat nerfs on the forums(generally focused on adding new counters). The ideal change would be giving corvettes their own damage type so we could just nerf their damage against medium, heavy & very heavy armor(they are fin

The point is the addition of titans have increased the total potency of fleets by a bit, making the direct-assault method more easily effective then it was before. Titans don't HAVE to be able to 1v1 starbases to make th
As things are now bombers are a necessary counter to starbases. If every faction had a non-titan means of blowing starbases of as potent as the Ogrov, bombers wouldn't be necessary. As it stands though the Advent has no such tool(adjudicators suck) and the vasari only real such tool requires them to build a starbase in a a hostile well(which while easier for them then most factions is still difficult). Unless other
I've had a few cases noww here my ships make phase jumps without any orders. From the situations I suspect this is linked to situations where the ships my ships had been attacking phase jump away(it looks like they are generally "chasing" something that jumped away when I catch my ships phase jumping without orders). Anyone else experienced this?
I've been wondering for quite some time now whether ships killed while under the effects of the Progenitor Mothership's Malice ability still propagate 30% of the damage they suffered at the end of the 10 seconds. Anyone know? If not I suppose it wouldn't be all that difficult for me to test, but I'd appreciate anyone who could save me the time. [e digicons][/e]
We have hardened cities, but that does need a buff.
aye, this is the most likely method. The big issue is the population damage, not the planet damage(key worlds can be protected from that by aux goverment). Though having a single technology that applies to all worlds mitigate this damage much would be too strong(at least at the sort of % necessary to keep novalith from wrecking eco
There really does need to be a counter to the population damage for advent. TEC can build shield generators Vasari can disable and blow up the cannon easy with use of a raiding fleet & their own superweapon Advent is forced to go on the offensive(Which means fighting TEC loyals on home-ground) or have their economy ruined. This is especially an issue considering how much trouble the advent has dealing with the TLT's disruption Matrix
The TEC ones need a larger nerf then the advent ones. The biggest problem is the cost-efficiency, which is doubly troublesome when combined with a strong economy....there's a reason early game TEC ships in general(souts & LF mainly, flak to a lesser degree) are less cost-effective then their advent counterparts. In addition to any general corvettes nerfs, TEC corvettes really need their price increased 20-25%. Also on
Sins wouldn't be Sins if you didn't have
Well to be fair the percentages only seem deceptive because players are accustomed to the other way most games present percentages.
remove their shields and reduce their HP by half. They are fine as is, they just need to be easier to kill.
Way overkill. When they were considered useless pre-buff they had way more survivability then that. Honestly all I think they need is perhaps a 10% damage nerf or so. Also, the TEC corvette should have it's cost increased by 25% or so. Early game
corvettes certainly need a nerf, but it's important that the advent ones get a smaller nerf. Corvettes have finally fixed a slew of the advent's problems. Not to mention advent corvettes should be better per-cost then those of the other factions. Just like they get better per-cost LF & scouts. The reason being the advent's weak economy. The need more efficient early game units to compensate for their poor economy.
The differences are along the lines of: Each race gets: -A titan -Split into 2 subfactions(rebels and loyalists). They get seperate new techs/titans/corvettes -6-7 new research topics(most of them are more interesting then +x% damage). Some of the highlights include TEC loyalists being able to build 2 starbases per gravity well -a new capitalship - a new type of frigate(the corvette). The corvet

First of all, blown away by all the feedback guys; great to be getting all these responses. It seems the greatest controversy surrounds my recharge shields change, so I thought I may as well explain my rationale: I actually had considered putting the recharge shields ability on repair platforms as some people suggested. I chose notto for 2 reasons: first it creates a wierd situation where this harmony tech does nothing wit

I haven't played a game with the research victory yet. Does it give all other players a warning when someone starts the research like it does when people start on titans? If not then it should, so that everyone else knows it's time to start busting labs.
