MJ i know i havent played for what 4-5 years? But surely i should be on that list :P tsk tsk Sad Cat.

Thats ok i give out lols for free at no charge, im nice like that! Even though you are missing the point* once again in one of the earlier posts. At least you are safe on the forums, as your logic really doesnt do so well online. Hint*: Harass / hit and run.
Its for ninjaing unsuspecting titans or cap ships sin, hardly anyone rolls in with mass bombers vs fighters any more though, it just doesnt happen and super easy to counter.
lol at that logic by zombie, while it makes sense its totally irrelevant. You and your opponent have same amount of time to spam as much as possible. You ll have more discs than he has LFs.
Hmm? So you deploy 100% fighter compositions viably? How does this work? Does it scare people into switching and thereby avoid bombers by virtue of deterrence? Or is it actually super-effective in straight-up combat against bomber compositions (at 50+ squadrons per side)? I would imagine you'd have to use it in consort with flak burst / telekinetic push / jam weapons to prevent them thar horde of bombers from taking out a capital sh
What do you mean build slower? i thought it was -2 of a normal LF? LF - 24 and Disciple 22.
@Sin Cheaper, -2 sec build time, easier to spam, less supply, work better without a cap, DPS upgrades taken as priority when tec goes for armor, +10% extra base dps as well. It just seems the way the game is played from what i see, im probably missing a few points as well.
not bad against 2 hard AI considering I was having trouble even on normal before 0.o
Well done, come play multiplayer now :P
I literrally *never* see bombers vs fighters in 5s, vs AI you can make any ship work. As soon as ppl see my fighters they instantly switch, because if they dont they just level my titan for free. I guess this could be true wtih some sick lategame spam with MASS bombers but advent can simply use guardians and the effect is the same. As for TEC, bombers cant kill ankylon fast enough and who cares about ragnarov - that titan is baaaad :P
Yeah, if you ever want to play multiplayer 99% of the games use "Fastest" settings. It may seem over the top but actually plays at a normal / slower speed than most rts games like starcraft etc.. So if you are planning on playing multiplayer in the future i would strongly recommend only playing using those settings but thats up to you. It doesnt take very long to get to used to it. I still believe you are researching too much and not making enough basic units. Mass cap ships (buy lvl
Nah i was teaching him how to play, he had like 6-7 planets as far as i remember. I have no idea what you just wrote. Is income different on other game modes/types as i only play the settings used in multiplayer..ie.fastest speed, no pirates, quick start? Also regardless of game speed the trade income increases exponentially the longer your trade line is, its never a static number.
I dont want to sound negative but ummm i was watching one of my mentees play 1v1 vs AI last night and he had 82 credits/s at 32 minutes. I dont know how the game changes 1v1v1 but just having like 1 trade port on each planet in a trade line would give you like 40+s or 50+s without much expenditure on your part as you dont even need extra labs ( assuming you make at least 2 civs labs for planet colonization research). I still think you waste too much on useless research.
Quoting Sinkillr, reply 10 I think you went a little overboard there Aresiv... lolz. You could have dismissed his argument by just simply typing gameplay>immersion. He wrote in paragraphs leave him alone
Lol thats the absolute exact thing i was thinking while looking at this thread, Stupid zombie makes me agree with him far too often recently for my liking [e digicons]8O[/
*writes something witty about cat's absence in multiplayer* *sees cat hold against doci his 1st game back* *cries in corner*
Lol that was a fun game, dont remember last time killing Doci's titan twice in a row. I think im back to speed with TEC now, although im too slow and rusty with advent and their hit and run tactics.
More or less agree apart from the point where in your opinion TEC> advent early game. I find it depends a lot on skill, at low-mid skill TEC>Advent early game but vs High skill player Advent is a lot harder to stop imo. When playing against the top tier players i always struggle a lot more as advent players will just split their forces and hit and run you to death. While its ofc possible with TEC its not as effective and easier to stop imo.
And if your fleet is just 3 or 4 jump away and the Migrator jumps in, changes are good that he will make it to the first armor upgrade. In which case you are pretty much dead.
2 factories on homeworld pumping out ships as soon as soon as you see migrator in nearby gravity wells will stop it. Remember weapon upgrades have been nerfed which were key to early game rushes. Ask any skilled player how they upgrade or at least used to upgra
IMO this is either a bug or an unintended effect. At one time it was reduced from infinite to include a target count. However the first 10 seconds of this ability can trap 100/200 strikecraft. It's supposed to trap 10/20 strikecraft. But like maw it's wrapped in a periodic action so instead a single hangar can trap 10/20 strikecraft every second for 45/60 seconds. I never understood how people were ok with this bei
People, that person has a point. If you don't see the starbase in time, then you have no time to destroy it and even if you do, you'll lose half your fleet. Basically, it's game over already and you have hardly even started the game. And why should you even consider joining games with Vasari players who'll just repeat that tactic again and again? I don't, I think it's a complete waste of my
Well for some reason that doesn't happen, the AI's both seem to only focus on me, or at least focus on me more. I must be unlucky i guess o_0
If you like i can play a 2v2 game with you when im free so you can see what we mean by some of advices in the thread. It would probably be a good idea to save a replay of it for future reference. Im JinglyCat on ICO/Steam if you need any help or want
Yep that mechanic is just to imbalanced i mean right of the start the guy just builds a freaken starbase at the edge of my capital planet which is bullshit so while my fleet is fight to get a planet my capital is getting fucked by a starbase built in couple of seconds i regret buying this game it seemed pretty fun at the beginning but multiplayer is just big mess from boring clusterfuck to imbalanced race advantage no fun at all.
Luckily people have stopped smurfing these days for the most part.
I would guess your main problem is either execution, mainly taking too long (the normal AI may become a lot harder if you leave it alone long enough to develop), or misspending resources on things you don't need (most new players, especially from the 4X genres, spend way too much on stat increasing research early on when they should be building ships and expanding).
QFT, please read that and think about it, as its
The main problem you have is how you are thinking about you fleet composition. When exactly to make trade, research and upgrades comes with experience. For example researching Garda Flak ships only to make 3 of them is a waste of time and resources. They dont even become useful until you have at the very minimum 10 and preferably 20. Researching LRMs to make 5 of them is pointless. Same goes carriers, ceilos etc... There is nothing wrong with mass capital ships when you fighting AI bu
Quoting JinglyGoo, reply 60I ll have a look for that replay when im back home. This reminds me, someone needs to start a new skilled replay/goldlist thread... I think it would really help the multiplayer community grow by educating the less experienced and make them want to compete against each other.
Well Sin if you stop mding everygame you could have had quite a few by now! :P
