If they went with (B), bonuses specific to that type of project shouldn't be transfered obviously. I don't particularly mind if the *money* that would've been spend on military gets transfered to social/tech in equal amounts. It definitely shouldn't be cash back or stored. I think that would be possibly unbalancing. Also, I'm very wary of creating more sets of sliders. I'm really digging the elegant simplicity of the game mechanics and its interface. What do you use to generate the website? I imagine it'd be handy to be able to run this on my own machine locally so that 1. I wouldn't have to be connected to the net to browse it. 2. I wouldn't waste your bandwidth repeatedly going to the same stuff. 3. The information would be tailored to what I have installed.

It's difficult to get them to ally with you. Given that it's a victory condition, it ought to be. I think it's generally something that has to be built up over time, not something you can just buy. Giving them all your stuff probably marked you as a sucker rather than a worthy ally. Obviously, having incompatible moral outlooks will severely hinder any efforts at warming relations.

A minor race has much fewer expenses I would have to imagine. For the most part, they're not interested in rapid expansion or conquering other races. So they don't need to crank out colony ships, survey ships, scouts, or any military ships. It all goes back into that one planet. Or if there's excess, into the bank. They really don't need to do too much tech dev because everyone is happy to sell them tech for probably far less than it would cost them to research it. It might be interesti

Typically, your "credit limit" for your debit card is whatever you have in the account. So if you don't have enough money right now, the transaction won't go through. If you do have enough, it won't deduct the funds immediately but will put a temporary hold on your account for that much money until the actual charge comes through a couple days. So, money won't actually change hands for a few days but as far as how much cash you have access to, the effect is usually immediate.<b

Epic has also done a pretty good job with updating and improve Unreal Tournament 2003. (They did the same with the original UT.) The free bonus pack they released about a week ago is very very cool. Some very cool new gametypes and maps. Not to mention the patches have been steadily making the game better and more polished.

The final frontier is a technology that allows human beings to transcend time and space and travel to the mysterious realm that socks at the laundrymat disappear to. With an eternity's worth of socks recovered, complete and total domination of the universe will be possible.

So, in the above poster's case, he wouldn't need to install the game? He would just: log into site, get the e-mail with the generated link, download the file, burn it to a CD and take it home, run the file on his computer at home? If so, why didn't you say so in the first place? ;) I think this allays a lot of the concerns people have been having in other threads...

I would have to imagine that downloading from different IPs would be fine. Dial-up users are almost always going to get a new IP address. I'm guessing what they'll be looking for is downloads for the same serial number from multiple IPs addresses within a short period of time. That would indicate that it's been spread on the net. It likely wouldn't catch people who give the serial to a friend or two over the course of a couple months.

As I understand it, if you have your serial number, no matter where you purchased the game, you can download the game from the website as well as the bonus pack and extras that comes out in the year ahead. Absolutely positively free. If you pre-ordered from Stardock, they'll e-mail the serial number to you when they ship it. If you pre-ordered from somewhere else, they probably won't e-mail you the serial ahead of time.

I like the macromanagement concept. The viceroy AI is actually pretty good once you get the hang of the dev plans. Unfortunately, like most of the more complex aspects of the game, setting up good dev plans isn't documented at all. Plus, there are some pretty bad bugs related to dev plans. You can only create about a dozen dev plans and there are about three times as many planetary classifications. After you create so many dev plans, you can't create any more, even if you delete existin

I actually like the macromanagement aspect of MOO3 and working through Dev plans. The AI is really quite intelligent at doing what you tell it to do. Unfortunately, the game failed to ship with a manual that tells you how to work with the AI. I think the bulk of the complaints with MOO3 could be addressed if there was a real manual and a real tutorial. The already steep learning curve turns into a vertical learning cliff that countless people are falling off of. Hopefu
