Its official. Culture will Overrun enemy planets. Once your Culture reaches their planet the Allegiance starts dropping. When it reaches 0, the Planet becomes Neutral. I geve them 30min beyond that to see if they would change to my side but they didn't. After 30min I just moved in a Mothership and took the nodes.
Dude.....that is what Annatar told you in the first response to your question.....

Your force probably isn't going to beat that many Illuminators in 1.05, but it can do hit and run and inflict damage with very few casualties if your micro is good. Anyhow, it is kind of hard to know what you are doing from your description. You would have to post a replay. You have to micro your fighters to keep them attacking the Illuminators and run your carriers so they don't just sit there and get chewed up. It isn't a fight where you can just
Ok i just tried the carriers tactic myself and they got owned by illums so obviously just build illums if your advent.
Carriers with fighters can kill Illums, not bombers though.....and it works a lot better in 1.09+. In 1.05, the Illuminator is king. =)
True, Flak is not the answer all by itself. The point I was making was that you could buy enough flak to counter his bombers, and purchase other ships to destroy his carriers for the same price ( like the LRMs you suggested ). Cobalts, LRMs, HC's... doesn't matter really. Once his bombers are gone he's got a lot of very expensive ( and empty ) cargo ships.
By all means, do what you like. I was just pointing out that Cobalts are extremely suited to carrier hunting

I kinda liked BASIC...back in the day. At least it was easy to for my feeble brain to understand.....not that I'm making any statements about its overall value as a programming language.

a minidump is the name of the file generated when the game crashes... Best way to avoid is the restart your game client (totally exit and restart Sins) between each game. The actual crash seems to be caused by desync between players, most likely from a variable that is being inadvertently passed from your last game.
But it would be fun to test out wouldn't it?
Sure it would be fun, if you like modding the game so you can win. Or you could just skip the whole game and go jack off.
The only way to beat LRF + bomber spam is LRF + fighter spam.
The OP question was not how to beat LRF + bomber spam, it was how to beat pure bomber spam. You'll note, I also suggested fighter spam to combat bomber spam right from the beginning. If the opponent is too stupid to make any fighters instead of all bombers, you could actually make pure LRF spam to kill the carriers too, thought they have a little more trouble chasing the carriers around. <p

Hey Zwanglos....NA evenings are the best time to catch people....we played a game right after you left the channel...we were kind of disappointed you just left without saying anything. Anyhow, there are not many people with the beta, if you want to play a big game, move your folder with the beta install to another directory and reinstall 1.05. You can still make a shortcut to the beta install and check there as well. Otherwise, you just kind of have to hang out and wait fo

The culture goes away....ever notice that when you blow up an enemy planet with culture stations, you can't colonize initially, but if you wait around a bit, soon you can?

1. Thes OP appears to be playing 1.09 or later based on his description of the carriers 2. Flak is not the answer, but by all means, go try it for yourself

As far as I can tell, the AI always behaves the same...the Hard and Unfair AI's just have more economy to draw from.
When I first purchased Sins I thought it was great. It still is I guess. Now that this company are bringing out so called 'expansions', I no longer feel the same. These parts of the game should be made available for free, never mind charging people a second and a third time for them! It appears this game was released unfinished and, thus now, the company is releasing the finishing components. I am one person who will not be buying this 'expansion' stuff
Pseudo as in its not real OOP. Real OOP is SmallTalk: everything is an object and you communicate with objects exclusively via messages. If parts of the language are in procedural programming with implied object messaging, you have pseudo-OOP. Since many people find true OOP confusing - in SmallTalk, there is no operator precedence, its a simple left-to-right thing, because algebraic operations are just more objects messaging each other, so why shoudl t
I play Vasari almost exclusively... so excuse me if I'm wrong... but doesn't a Kol have an amazingly annoying shield ability that would allow it to get off a few flak bursts, even against that many bombers?
The shield ability is not going to do much to save 1 Kol, which is why I didn't even mention it in my first post. Of course, in all fairness, you can have 16 Kol's plus another 800 supply of frigates. If the Kol

The Kol would certainly be the cap to use...but even a Kol will go down to that many bombers, though it could absorb some damage in the meantime. The real problem here is you need something to kill the carriers, or the problem never ends. The cobalts are pretty handy to chase down the carriers.

No reason why you can't upgrade extractor tech AND make a refinery if you have a good spot. Lets say you have enough credits where you are starting to buy minerals / crystal. You are probably buying at approximately a 4-5 cr : 1 resource ratio. If you can build a refinery that has access to 10 extractors (fairly easy to find a good spot like this on larger maps), it will bring in about 1 resource per sec, maybe more with research. That 1 resource per sec is actually wo

Hey, I have seen some desyncs too. It seems like people who don't restart their clients between games, or have played a couple games already without restarting, are more likely to go out of sync with those of us who do. Not sure if that helps. The desync eventually leads to a crash. When everyone has just logged on or restarted their clients, I haven't seen a desync. A lot of us are in the habit of restarting, because this 95% protected against crashes in earli
I DID say that it could work with an assailant rush, and i DID say it would work on a small map.
I never said COULD work, my point was more that it REQUIRES the above components. I was just trying to be friendly and give you the validation you are obviously seeking. Ahem...If you back up the Marauder with Assailants on a tiny map, yes, you can rush with Subversion. I still think it is a weaker ship, but it absolutely could work.....with
