Thanks Madriel! I'll give it a go as soon as possible! You rock for trying to help :)

It's most likely an old whine, but is there a way to remove the requirement to phase jump Vasari Rebels' starbases to an enemy's well? I'm not playing this game in multiplayer at all, and I like the slow pace of playing a long Sins game against the AI over a weekend. Since I'm not much of an RTS player and hate rushes with a vengeance, I liked either turtling-up with the TEC Loyalists or go for the late game sweep up as the Vasari Rebels, but now they are completel
Good idea, done :)
Seleuceia , it seems you nailed it on your second guess - I queued up logistic slots on the conquered planets and started building media hubs to negate the enemy's culture and halfway through, I foolishly seem to have changed my mind, un-queued the logistic slots and queued up different planetary slots, instead, on 2 different newly conquered planets which c
Found it, thanks :)
Edit: found out to be a false alarm and not a bug after all. Original post: I think this is an old bug, as I remember I had this issue in previous builds, but still worth mentioning: I'm playing a huge map, clearing out the AI one by one, when suddenly I can't build any orbital structures in the conquered planets. The construction ships cruise to the build location and then either the build bar doesn't move at all, or the construction ships just leave the orbital b
Will you blind fanboys stop avidly defending every little thing this company does? "Oh, it's their right to do it! You're not entitled to be a beta tester! If a Stardock/Ironclad's employee runs over a cat it means the cat is to blame!" If you'll look on my profile you'll notice that I'm a loyal fan for quite a while (back since 2003, and even before that), but this blatant sycophancy makes me cringe every single time. It is you guys that need to c
Yeah, I kinda knew this will lead to the multiplayer guys flying off the handle, so it really was my fault. Sorry for the obvious flame bait, but I just didn't like Wrath89's comment on blaming Ironclad/Stardock for something that clearly is the behavior of their fanbase. I think -Ue_Carbon explained my point of view perfectly. Thanks :) Honestly, without meaning to offend any further, Dirty, your...shall we say..energetic? behavior is exactly why you seem to
Quoting boshimi336, reply 107 If Rebellion sells 300,000 copies and we can only find 30 to 80 people online at any given time (kind of like Diplomacy), the devs have clearly made extremely serious mistakes.
Either that, or the target audience of the game (not surprisingly) are mature people with jobs/college/kids that just don't like the hectic pace and different mindset of multiplayer, myself in
Navy, eh? Was my second choice, but due to the age of picture it was very hard to tell. My confusion was due to the pin, which reminded me of an airforce pin: http://www.iaf.org.il/Sip_Storage/FILES/7/33117.jpg Lucky you for being able to return to the US as well :) Edit: ummm, guys, I'm Jewish, myself (albeit a secular one) so I really wouldn't mind that you'll learn more Jewi
Oh, I didn't realize today is 'teach a non-Jewish about Jewish stuff' day [e digicons][/e]
DrJBHL, wow, an airforce officer? Perhaps a fighter pilot? Cool! Were you always from the US, or did you live in Israel and later moved?
LOL! You know, I've noticed that as well, myself [e digicons];P[/e]
Oh! It's a greeting. It literally means: 'A good year' in Hebrew: Shana = Year Tova = Good (female tense, there's a difference between male and female in Hebrew). When said as a greeting to someone, its meaning turns to: '(may you have a) happy new year'.
What being appropriate?
A fellow Hebrew speaker, NICE! :)
Shana Tova! May it be true in our lifetime :) P.S: the verse sounds quite unnatural in English as it's much better in Biblical Hebrew, but its meaning is just as strong.
Got a bit of a problem - I got the discount when I pre-ordered a few months ago, but my credit card got cancelled accidently by the credit company and I received a new credit card, instead. Since my original payment method is no longer valid, what can I do? How can I update my payment method for a pre-order? Or will it simply ask me for a different payment method when the expansion will be released? Or better yet - should I cancel my preorder and preorder again using my new credit car
kyecoo, you can't break an alliance between two other factions. The 'Diplomacy' part is really not that fully fleshed out in this game. Look at Seven Kingdoms 1 or 2 for a real example on a diplomacy model in RTS games.
It's not a question of money, it's a question of priorities. I prefer gaming laptops over a new furniture or a bigger screen TV, for example.
The best advice I can give you is: Speak softly and carry a big stick. Like most (if not all) 4X strategy games, diplomacy is only as good as your defenses. These are just some basic principals, if you already know how to play the game just ignore them and skip to the last paragraph: research starbases, build one in every colony, keep your outer-rim colonies (the ones closer to your enemy) literally bristled with defenses and fully-upgraded starbases with hull, armor a
Well, I disagree. Gaming laptops are strong enough to run games on full graphics these days, have enough heat-dissipation to handle long gaming sessions, have enough hard-drive space these days, and their memory-capacity is quite high (8GB is the standard these days for decent gaming laptops). Plus, they don't cost you an arm and a leg like they used to as well, as they now cost between $1000 and $2000 USD for an extremely decent gaming laptop that will keep on staying decent even
I don't like the extra cheating AI difficulties at all. The AI shouldn't blatantly cheat to compensate for its inability to effectively co-ordenate attacks and defenses. Wrong move, IMO.
Teal, what did you like in beta one that you don't like in beta two?
Fuzzy Logic: if the AI will eventually be smarter and will now properly coordinate attacks with their allies, diplomacy will be much more needed in the late game, when a few decisive attacks from 2 or more allies' full fleets at the same time against your planets will crush your defenses and your main fleet completely. That being said, for that to truly work, it is crucial that Ironclad will improve the AI overall effectiveness and its ability to 'play well with others', inclu
