Also, I know its not related but will more lore be released over the course of development? Probably. I'd expect you won't get immediate answers to your other question either.

I don't know, I tried that with a flak frigate, and the frigate would attack whatever I told it's follow target to attack. It did neither follow close nor defend, IIRC the target was a light factory. As Blair said above the target priorities on Gardas are messed up in the current build, so they're incorrectly favoring other targets over fighters/bombers. It should be fixed when a patch goes out.
they have a point, it shouldnt be as simple as sniping from a distance. only a military fool would allow his enemy to go rampaging with such an advantage. Once fighters' targeting priority is fixed, hangars will be able to counter such assaults (they kill bombers and LRMs both).
Another thing I was alittle disappointed about is that all the players spawn in the same solar system. I dont know if this will be implemented at a later date, but I think it would be much better to spawn the players and teams over multipul solar systems (provided that the player has chosen to play such a game). And also, as others have mentioned, for the solar systems to spwan an equal number of planets and asteroids. Right now the galaxy generator is set
like dot or plus sign. However, polygons are also not that bad for the shapes, unlike you think. Did you try Supreme Commander? It works there nicely. The trouble is that the icons in Sins are rotated to indicate the direction the unit is facing, which would greatly reduce the impact and identifiability of any such changes, if not make the situation worse. A square could look identical to a diamond for instance, depending on facing. But even elimina
i would like to have the trade ships and refinery ships returned to the screen so i can watch them go between grav wells. Turn the option back on to show their icons in the interface options.
June 26 Technical Gameplay -- Construction stops and hangs partway ( Link ) a construction ship would attempt to build a metal or crystal mine and it would start constructing normally, and then just freeze its construction (animation was still present). I found this for structures at around
1. does this mean that they won't or i just didn't sit there long enough. Hard to say. I'm not sure if pirates only spawn when nobody is looking or not, need an IC comment on that. Same for the interstellar traders (don't know if it's supposed to or not). 3 i knew there was a three the AI doesn't seem to be building ships. i mean it will build some ships but it isn't maxing out. and with all of the pirates running around g
Do you have a saved game that has some of these stuck construction projects in it? That may be helpful to IC in finding and fixing the issue.
my bug reports have gone ignored i think and i don't know if they were genuine bugs either Which ones?
well, to be frank I want to be able to place a bounty on my own head. sometimes the AI goes all comatose, and its impossible to get a challenge out of anything, regardless of how much I piss off the AI AI or otherwise, that might actually be an interesting tactic to bait someone into attacking you...
which group do the pirate fleets of 40 or more ships belong to Fleets that big are likely the regular 'marauder' pirates. I don't think I've ever seen Insurgent fleets bring more than half that.
flak frigate, but I read somewhere that the flak frigate is bugged for some reason as well Flak frigates aren't putting fighters/bombers as their top priority in the current build, but it's already fixed internally so that'll be solved when IC gets a patch out.
What you could do is have the auto cannons be able to shoot fighters. They already can, and do, I think. They're just not very effective at it (which is as it should be).
it seems they blend multiple mesh files to make the backgrounds. So by simplifying it down to one mesh Actually the skyboxes listed in the star entities are just the list of possible ones that can be randomly picked for that star color. Only one is used at a time.
1) Zooming in should be to the point where the mouse pointer is located. This way, by zooming out and then in you can move very efficiently across the map. I know this due to Supreme Commander. Toggle the zoom-lock button by the MENU button at the top of the screen.
kyro comes around and cleans up the threads and makes a daily feedback thread, that way nothing of true importance is missed, and noting is double posted.... Heh. I actually -personally- would prefer if people put their feedback in single-topic threads, be they preexisting ones, or new ones (yes, it's actually easier to handle more single-topic threads than it is fewer multi-topic threads), or if they put their feedback in the stickied feedback thre
1) When a CapShip increases level, an icon to the right of the screen would be nice so you don't have to hunt down the ship to pick new abilities. The ship's name and general ship icon would be nice, and all you would have to do is click the icon, and then the ship is "selected" so you can spend exp points without moving all over the place. I was recently involved in three separate battles at one time, and every 30 seconds another CapShip would increase its level, and
the camera moves there and darkens around the edges... it almost seems intentional Yes, there's a 'fog' effect when you try to look at a system you don't have any sensor coverage on.
*stickies thread*
I agree, we need the yellow links back It's on the to-do list for the web team.
I've seen the AIs build capital ships aplenty on medium.
June 23-25 Technical Crash -- After 30 minutes on Vista ( Link ) If I play the game for longer than 30 minutes (roughly anywhere between 38 to 42 minutes, yes I timed it), it crashes to desktop with the only error message being a request to email a .dmp file. 2. I have noticed a 'seam' like effect on the backgrounds, a pair of parrelel lines from north to south where the texture appears different between them. (Graphics card Ati X1950Pro). On which ones? a Screenshot would be most helpful to show exactly where this is happening.
But was only the first one one you hadn't explored, or were both?
