I have SDC installed on the machine, nach. - I bring an archive over. It should be fine, just keep the sig.bin when you get rid of beta 1.
June 20 AI making misplaced comments (IC) ( Link ) Through the many games that I have played its games like Sins of a Solar Empire that make me think "What in the world is that Ai trying to say to me?" I make a Trade agreement and the ai says great we would love to trade. then you offer to trade Information or some other thing like that and they say " We would never accept an offer from you scum."/
so as we both said, firing arcs would make it much more interesting to structure your attack fleet in a few groups and attack an enemy from different sides instead of merely going one to one style Ships in sins do indeed have firing arcs. There is some research to increase maneuvering speed on your capital ships, so they can bring their main guns about more quickly (important especially for ships like the Kol, where most of the firepower is in the front ar
June 19 Group Jump formation/alignment needs adjusted ( Link ) When you group move a fleet to a jump lane preparatory to jumping, the orientation of the group is rarely set in the proper orientation to jump. Please adjust the group movement so that when you click outside the grav well (like on the jump line itself) the fleet sets up perpendicular to and outside the well so it doe
I talked to sales, and there's no official policy at the moment, but the general idea is: - TGN orders *might* be able to get a box shipped, but you'll have to pay normally, not via tokens, if so. - If you ordered normally and you haven't been charged yet, you can contact [email protected] and just have them change your order. - If you ordered normally and have been charged--if you were in beta 1, basically--(if TGN buyers are allowed to get a box it would be this way), the
If you already downloaded the Digital Version..is there anyway to add the Physical Cd later? If you ordered normally (not with TGN tokens), you can contact [email protected] about the possibility of paying the shipping fee and getting your order upgraded.
hey, i just pre ordered, where do i go from here to make an account and download the client and stuff No need to make another account--your forum account is your SDC account, FYI. one other thing i wanted to know. once you have the game installed by pre ordered digital download, can you always play it even when the beta trials is over? There's no expiration on the beta that I'm aware of, but then unlike othe
June 16-18 Fleet composition and bottlenecking discussion ( Link ) i mean that 300 Spartans with stood an attack of 40,000? for three days because they were better organized than the enemy so if you have a bunch of heavy frigates and cruisers attack a small but better positioned of scouts and cruisers and the small fleet stick
When I preordered I payed 10$ for shipment to Sweden, guess that's about as much you can pay in shipment so expect to pay anything between 44.95 to 54.95 for your game. Shipping is $5 in the US, and $10 international.
Has anyone notice that under the news it has peculiar repeating phrase of words. It's a mockup, so it just has filler text in it.
June 15 Ongoing discussions: Game pacing
What is the point of the first one (plan old DVD drive)? The second one can read and write discs, so why do most computers come with two? There's really no reason aside from being able to copy discs without using a temp image on the hard drive, and making more money for the OEMs.
June 14 Request for more varied types of fighters ( Link ) fighter: classic, good at killing fighters and bombers bombers: also classic, good at killing larger ships, but has to get in close torpedo bombers: can attack from greater range and thus does not go so much into risk. torpedos highly damaging, if they hit, but can be intercepted. int
Just asking. When I choose to receive the hard copy, what I should expect this time. For Dread Lord I received a full retail box which made me a happy monkey, but for [Dark Avatar] all I received through the mail was a CD in a plastic bag, which made me an unhappy ape. I expect it should be a retail box. The reason DA didn't get one is because there wasn't such a box ever made (there was a box for GC2 Gold, but as DA never went to retail alone, ther
So how do you get in on the Beta test again? do I need to send someone my verification or something? Preorder the game. If you've already done so, then all you need to do is wait for the 21st to come.
June 13 Ongoing discussions: The usage of Stars needs improving. Game pacing
well, forgive my ballbusting, but the idea was not adressed in the least, where far smaller details had a lot of attention. Not for lack of discussion or mention on the roundup thread. The word 'megaship' is mentioned no less than seven times on the roundup thread, with one quote (from the mobile-factory thread). The initial opening of the two older threads in April didn't get a quote as they were both placed under a 'super-capital ships' heading; I didn't
but holographic storage, I believe that has to do with 3-D engrained images, correct? in crystal structures I believe. nice little doohickies, wonder we didnt come up with them sooner. such a simple idea. It's actually a fairly old idea, just one that hasn't readily come together into a useful product before now.
Ok... so how will the gameplay be improved? You'll find out when you play it
obviously massively ignored. the devs were so decidedly not going to use it, that despite it being the central topic for a week, it was almost never quoted on the feedback thread. I generally only quote new threads. Otherwise, ongoing threads get a link in the ongoing section, unless there's something really groundbreaking posted in it. It's the same treatment all ongoing threads get.

June 9-11 Thoughts on speed and pacing ( Link ) Looking at Sins as a strategy/4x game, the pace isn't too much of a problem. Looking at it as an RTS, it is exceedingly slow. A game on a small map shouldn't take me 5-6 hours to finish, which it has. Hopefully there are plans to make the ships speeds (or even general game speed) adjustable in later versions. I have to say that I'm
I am currently playing a game where I have two galaxies, one is mine, and one is more than half mine. The remaining CPU team has over 70 caps, hundreds of frigates and a whole bucketload of money. How can this happen? They have less than a quarter the population that I have yet they seem to have almost limitless resources. If you haven't updated lately, then it's probably the infinite trade bug (which was fixed in one of the more recent builds AFAIK).
