!! Urgent -> Correct the interface. I have many bug with texts out of executives even in 1280x1024 !! There is an issue with non-english versions of windows not using the proper font, instead using a default one that is larger. This is likely what you're experiencing.

There's something a little twitchy with the repair platform... Seems like every time I select one and try to manually use the repair ability the game will freeze as soon as I mouseover the button for it. A little alt-tabbing will get me an error dialog with this error message: Yep. Blair posted the fixed string file somewhere around here to hold us over until the next update (unfortunately I don't recall where it's at offhand).
You can set a rally point practically anywhere just by right clicking on an object while having a planet selected. Refinery and Trade ships are specifically made to ignore rally points since they are not intended to be given direct orders.
Did you perchance accidentally give them a rally point or move order on a refinery/trade ship?

I have yet to test that theory as I do not know how to change my race icon color... Just hit back then next at the game creation screen over and over until you get the color you want (it's random).

Does that mean Beta 2 will be several months off as well? Or just that entry to the Beta program will be closed on Wednesday. And does that mean the current batch of testers can still contribute to the beta progress? It means that no more new teters will be admitted until Beta 2 opens. Stars need to move (like flares and solar activiy!). They look the same 24/7, at least on medium graphic. There should be a rippling effect on them, if you look closely (if it works on a GF5 that is). Terraforming so you could get more population and more TAXES! You can build infrastructure level-ups, and research techs for Terran, Desert, and Arctic planets to increase their population caps.
You need to upload it somewhere like Imageshack , then you can insert the link to it (this is the box labeled "Direct link to image" on imageshack) using the image function in the reply box.

In my current game under the Mar 31 patch, the first faction to build a trading post (one of the AIs) appears to have gotten ridiculous income from it (before anyone else had any, or I'd suspect, he'd even built a second one)--far, far more than any of the other factions who built trading posts later on.
I think the price for either 100 metal or crystal was over 2k credits while it only sold for 250. I've had the price to buy over 5k myself, and gladly paid it.
Lets not mention the orange background Interestingly, at least based on my own experience (I could be totally wrong), it seems that the color of your starting system is related to the faction color you get assigned. My last three games I've played as red, and every time I started in a blue system (yay!).

So if your resource runs out is there no respawn process ? Build lots of refineries--refinery ships can extract small quantities of resources from 'empty' asteroids. Edit: I take too long going through threads after I open them all in tabs
Is there a way in Sins to see what research will give you what ships and what structures. Maybe I'm not reading the tree right, but how do you research directly to cap ships and the like? Items with yellow backgrounds in the TEC tech tree give new construction options.
