Because They had an unending stream of ships that I can't get rid of, because they seem to have resources that they don't have! And they also build them like 40% faster than I can. I'd bet this may be from the trade bug (was supposed to be squashed in this weekend's build, but it seemed to hit one of the AIs in my current game, who likewise had ridiculous numbers of scout frigates). When you exit, check the income graphs and see if the AI(s) in questions h

4. I read somewhere that you could not control your carrier's fighters directly. Is this correct? No, you can select fighters/bombers and give them orders if you like. Just as squads, though, not individuals.

can they travel between systems w/out phasespace? I *have* seen orphaned bomber groups spin off into space and get halfway across the system before they died...

I would like to see an auto level up feature for the cap ships. Just right click on the ability assignment button to set it to auto-assign abilities as it sees fit.

I installed stardock, and thats about as far as I got. I am lost on this thing, where do i go?? In SDC, go to the Tools menu and choose Register Products. Pick Games on the left, then find Sins in the Product pull-down liust on the right. Once you find it, enter your email and serial and click Register. Close the registration dialog, go to the Games section and Sins should be listed under Purchased Products. Make sure you have Show Pre-release Versi

Right click on it in SDC, choose the archive/selected application option. This will make an .sdc file for sins located in C:\Program Files\Stardock\Stardock Central\BACKUP. Copy the .sdc file and the installer for SDC itself to your laptop by the means of your choice. Install SDC, then once done just double-click the .sdc file to install Sins. You will then need to perform email activation via your desktop in order to run the game.

Trade and Refinery ships have been fixed to ignore rally points in the patch posted on SDC yesterday (the rally points would cause them to forget their normal jobs).

I think they are MP3s ? OGG, actually, but yes. I could post the opening theme, if its ok with the Staff? Probably better hold off on that until you get an ok (from someone with more authority than I).

I've seen less support for a full released game. Games generally have more people working on them and on a more constant basis when they're in development. Things change a lot faster than they do post-release.

On the multiplayer note. If some guy gets traped behind someone elses space. Dosent that simply mean that he was to slow? The way the map is currently generated, probably. The game seems to set each system more or less equal for all players in it, so the only way you're going to get bottled in is if you don't get out to the "open" part of the system before someone else has made it all the way around the "hub" of inner planets.

is it actually going anywhere? Not that I noticed myself. You can find the dump file in C:\Documents and Settings\(Your username)\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\MiniDump. Please zip it up and send it to sinsbugs AT stardock.net with a description of what went wrong. If you have an applicable saved game, zip and send it too. FYI if that saved game is from the initial

Make capitalships vunerable to when there are squadons of bombers They are. I make extensive use of bombers myself--in my current game, the AI sent a large fleet (the largest I've seen the AI send thus far, anyway--probably 8 or so caps and a mass of frigates) to intercept my attack on one of its planets. As the fleet arrived and started moving towards my end of the well, I just selected all my bombers, queued up attack orders on each of his capita

On a completely different subject.. Has anyone noticed that when you create a game with 2 stars, and only 1 AI opponent that the AI opponent always spawns in the same star system as yours? I would think it would spawn in the other star system. Blair has noted that the galaxy generator is set up in the beta to place players in a way that will create conflict early-on (IIRC this will probably be user-configurable later).

But would that be the case if travel within your empire could be enhanced? This would give the defender time to muster a fleet to defend his planet, so any attack launched against a distant planet would be easily met with a defensive fleet. You could for instance be able to set up spacelanes between the planets that you own (either with preset lanes like now, with self-made lanes, or maybe between any two of your colonies with the proper installation constructed

There shouldn't be any "choke points" in space. I disagree. I personally would prefer to stay with a system with limited travel, and the potential for strategic points. Certainly there could be a high-end tech that may allow the opening of additional lanes, or circumventing such choke points by some means, but IMO that should be the exception, not the rule. Without the lanes, there is very little "terrain" to the map, which is a vital thing

While one of the IC guys may be able to shed some light on the issue more specifically on Monday, and see if there is a possible solution, your video card is indeed below the minimum requirements posted for the beta (A DirectX9 card is stated; GF4TIs are DirectX8).

At a glance sometimes I can't make out if I researched an item. I had to hover the mouse over the research icon to read the text description. The number on a research item indicating its level turns yellow when it can't be researched any more.
