All my hard work creating those two feedback threads for naught. It's a natural law. If you sticky a thread, users will post even more threads on that topic (not the opposite as you intend!).

Do note that my comment is entirely non-authoritative. I'm just saying that's the way it is with everything else on SDC.

My question is, if I pre order this game, will I be able to download the beta1 on another PC with High Speed, and then bring it home and install it on my PC? With most products downloaded via Stardock Central, you can archive them, burn them, install them on an offline machine, then make a trip to the net machine and back to activate. I can't say for certain if that will be the exact case with sins, but it's a good probability. Note you do need to be able

People viewing this thread through stardock.com or totalgaming.net will see everything just fine, FYI.

Brian Clair is this the infamous Blair? hm... (prophetic beard rubbing) if i remember correct, its frogboy The three are in fact entirely different people. Brian Clair is Yarlen. Brad Wardell is Frogboy. Blair Fraser is Blair Fraser (oddly enough!).

and how can I find out if the motherboard and the CPU are compatible? The ones you have picked are not, as the mobo has no Core 2 Duo support. The only other BTX mobo on newegg does support Core, though. Personally I'd just advise again going with ATX. BTX is very poorly supported and is just going to be a pain if you later want to upgrade or replace parts that happen to fail.

thats all really nice and all. but right now I need to know if buying those parts is a waste of money or not. You've got a BTX motherboard and an ATX case picked out, and that's not going to work. BTX boards are laid out pretty much the opposite way, and won't fit in ATX cases. BTX cases are not terribly common--newegg only has <a href="http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.asp?Submit=Property&Subcategory=7&Description=&Type=&srchInDesc=&MinPric

Two cases with big fans: http://images10.newegg.com/NeweggImage/productimage/11-129-021-09.JPG http://images10.newegg.com/NeweggImage/productimage/11-103-010-15.jpg While they may move air more quietly though, I personally find those cases to be pretty tacky looking. Here's what I plan to use for my next build

120mm is nothing--there are some cases with fans more than double that diameter! The larger the better too, as larger ones can move the same amount of air as smaller ones while spinning at lower speed, and thus with far less noise.

This looks like an ok combo drive, pretty cheap. WWW Link I've got one of those, works just fine.

selection this is what I think I'm going for. I dont know what I'm missing though I also need a (cheap) but quick CD/DVD combo drive. You need to put it in a wish list and make it public for anyone else to see it.

Sins of a Solar Empire and almost immediately pre-ordered it.... How can I get into Beta? You already have (by preordering), it's just a matter of waiting for it to be opened (should be later this month).

Q: What is the Shipping cost? A: About 10 euro's to Europe and 5 to the US. NOTE: THIS IS ONLY FOR WHEN THE GAME IS RELEASED, IN AUGUST 2007 No beta disc's will be shipping. Rather than giving those figures in euros, it might be a better idea to give them in dollars since that's what they are--shipping for direct-ordered boxes has historically been $5 in the US, and $10 international.

There's also a 520w Corsair for $120. The Corsair PSUs are rebranded units from Seasonic, which is a popular name in the silent PC market. If budget is the biggest concern, the mid-range models from Thermaltake, Rosewill, or FSP should get the job done, but they're not as sure of a bet as the higher end ones. These will run you in the $40-$60 range.

then i guess im one of the unlucky once, to get a expensiv PSU that broke kinda fast Any PSU can fail, it's true. Same goes for any part. But a good one won't damage anything else when it dies, so you can just RMA it and go on. Or you could have a cheapie like someone I know did--it actually burst into flames when it failed.
